Fifteen years ago this imposing entity dimmed the lights. Now it turns out those muted years were but a foreboding prelude to an abrupt awakening - the era of TO BE CRUEL. Three songs newly shining light on distinct, destitute, clinging terrors. Khanate’s slow dimensions have been amplified horrifically. Personal grievances have become generational vendettas.

Khanate - Like a Poisoned Dog (Edit) - Official Visual 216pm 29.6.23 i know, man... i really wanted this album.... but i aint managed to get me a copy. as for wanting a man to fail - nawww... that's all relative, anyhow. living in this shit holei s testament to that... but there you go... you feel you've been on a long and perilous journey but when you look around etc etc.... there are no rungs to fall from... pretty grounded. irrespective of all the fantasists around and about...

Khanate - Like a Poisoned Dog (Edit) - Official Visual 2118pm 29.6.23 visuals reminded me of some animated skit i saw on fourmations many years ago... musically, reminds me of oxbow's first album... and mr klaus flouride's insistence that he wasn't featured on the oxbow album... or maybe someone on his behalf said he wasn't featured on said album..?

Free metal. Thoughtful. Is it release-less tension? Or is ALL release? Whatever it is, it's un-ignorable, & I'm kinda here for it.
I figured I'd stop what I was doing and see this.
If there was ever a soundtrack for a mental asylum. Khanate would be it!
I am a big metalhead who listens to some crazy heavy music and still can not see the appeal with this band. There is no structure and it is disjointed noise with intermittent screaming. Don't get why anyone would like this. No offense you all are able to like whatever you want.

I'd say a big part of the appeal is how absolutely unhinged the compositions are. I can also only IMAGINE how fucking heavy and loud this would be live. They are apparently touring in the Netherlands this year, I hope they do a proper EU / UK tour - I'd love to be sonically assaulted by this in person.
As a metalhead that's extremely ignorant to say that this has no structure haha. All of these songs have structure but the tempo is extremely slow. It would be the same thing as someone who doesn't listen to metal hating on fast tempo deathmetal or djent saying it has no structure. When in fact, it does, but its complicated and they suffer from perception overload. Khanate has always gone for the more artsy poetry appeal to metal and they've been doing it for 20+ years.
