    I"m guessing you either have a broken primary spring or belt residue/grime causing the sheave to not slide smoothly.
    A good clutch cleaning should fix you up.

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 лет назад +4

      I've got the problem solved, and it's gonna be something so rare, most people won't even know to look for it. I'll cover it in a future video!

      Sounds awesome... a piece of broken belt?

  • @sheddski2942
    @sheddski2942 6 лет назад +4

    i agree there might be a chunk of belt jammed in the spider not releasing its like starting a car in gear

  • @martinbullla7654
    @martinbullla7654 3 года назад +2

    if you want to get it running and it's sticking that bad throw some snow on the clutch and it will make the belt slip for a second long enough for it to start before it grabs

    What is it about the hate for different brands, the thing is that it doesn’t matter what you ride but how you ride. Me for example ride polaris cause i like them but that doesn’t mean that i hate everything that isn’t a polaris.

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 лет назад +1

      Good comment. Need more guys like you! Something is only gonna last as long as it is treated, and we don't treat our sleds nice xD

    • @joseywales898

      So True ..I have had all brands left . And now only 4 Companies left we need all of them to be successful, So when keep the price down and have choices to pick from. We have the best sport in the world that something to stand together on.

    Artic Cat sucks Comments?!?! If anyone is going to comment about a sled breaking down doesn't ride hard enough! When you ride a sled as hard as you do, it doesn't matter what brand you are on!! Anyone that can appreciate that will keep their mouth shut!! Glad I found your channel a couple of weeks ago!! Might have to make arraignments to head your way. Just live across the border, south of Lethbridge. Keep it real Boss!! That's why your channel is awesome!! Later!

  • @dustindeschene2779
    @dustindeschene2779 6 лет назад

    Hey man I’ve had that happen before. Sometimes a good cleaning will fix you up, but you may have to replace the spider bushing, or the spider on your clutch, could be costly, hopefully not in your case. Clutch does not disengage fully, causing your machine to walk forward when you pull er over. Cheers !

    • @syxxes

  • @martinbullla7654
    @martinbullla7654 3 года назад

    And it probably is the primary clutch the dogs that spring out and hit on the rollers to engage the clutch always break on those ask me how I know that's all I've owned is Arctic cat

  • @justinjeter3770
    @justinjeter3770 6 лет назад

    That my friends would be a roller and cam arm that is stuck not letting the primary return to the neutral state

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 лет назад

      Close, got her all ripped apart! But that ain't what caused it!

    • @justinjeter3770
      @justinjeter3770 6 лет назад

      Tell me what the problem was. I’ve had the same problem on two different sleds both cats. More wear on the cam arm than the roller causing it to stay engaged also the roller was not as free as it should be. When I watched this video had to laugh thinking back when I was on the mountain with close to the same issue. Man sure can ruin the day

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 лет назад

  • @m8pwa

      @syxxes  6 лет назад +1

      Yeaaah, those clutches... aren't great xD

  • @Braapcity
    @Braapcity Год назад

    Broken motor mounts can cause this too, I check everything outside of the clutch first then go into it. I love all the Cat hater comments, I have a 1996 ZRT 600 that would rip the arms off anyone here! I scored a set of black magic pipes, installed Boyeson Power Reeds, 57 degree helix, 340 Jets @4,000-6,000 feet, PSI cans, BR8ES plugs and did the flywheel key trick to advance the timing HOLY SHIT!!! Runs like a top, I tech my sled before every outing. Check everything, look for leaks, make sure things are clean and tight never have issues out there on the trail. I check EVERYTHING. Track and ski alignment, carbides, skis, hyfax, shocks, heat exchanger, hoses, belts! ALL OF IT. NOT ONE problem out there on the trail other than the occassional spark plug change that might happen if temp and elevation richen the fuel up and pop a plug. I like carb sleds, you can tune them and make changes without worrying about fuel maps

    Been riding cats since 2000 had 2 of them with turbos on them both with 4000 plus miles on them still riding a 2014 with a stage two slp kit on it So I am cat all the way run down pro poos any day but cat has a poor primary clutch has for years why do you think they don’t sell replacement parts First aftermarket part should be a thunder products all bearing contact kit or if you can afford it a 911 kit This will save you a lot of money and grief. I know from years of experience If you want to talk just reply I rode Polaris for 30 years even own a dealership for 10 years Went to cat won’t ever look back

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 лет назад +1

      I can totally agree on the primary clutching comment. The clutches on Arctic Cats up to 2015, I wouldn't call them unreliable, but I would call them: "Not great"

    • @davidpayce5574
      @davidpayce5574 6 лет назад +1

      Syxxes Performance won’t totally disagree buuuuut when you have to put pins and bushings every 500 miles plus bearings falling out and the fact you need too start by changing the weights and springs in the primary and the helix and spring in the secondary before going to the mountains Remember I have rode 7 800s in the last ten years and worked on them all for the last forty years Put in a ABC KIT to begin with and all you will do is change belts All my buddy’s ride Polaris that is why I ride cats Cats are a Motörhead dream they always leave 10 plus horsepower accessable in the engine which by the way are the best out there nowWont see many cars on a skyhook in Revy I rebuilt many Polaris cranks put them side by side see the difference. Great to talk to you Have in the great outdoors

    • @syxxes
      @syxxes  6 лет назад +1

      Great having you aboard, and good clutching advice from someone who has been there. I'm kinda trying to save the money on this unit, cause pretttty sure there is gonna be an Alpha One in the cards for next season.
