Marshall Gilkes & WDR BIG BAND - Middle Ground

Marshall Gilkes performs his composition "Middle Ground" together with the WDR BIG BAND.
Solos are played by Ludwig Nuss, Raphael Klemm and Peter Hedrich on trombones. Recorded as part of the concert "Fresh Start" at WDR JAZZCLUB / Cologne in November 2022.
From 2010 to 2014 Marshall Gilkes was a member of the WDR Big Band, since then he has been coming to Cologne again and again with new material. With "Fresh Start" he reports back as trombonist, composer and bandleader: "A lot of the music I write these days is inspired by people and places, especially my two kids."
