When I got to the Starlight Observatory and Vienta Village the game went to the next level for me. There is so much more to explore. Managing my time between T&L and New World Aeternum is going to be interesting.
Good luck!
The door opening during the loading reminds me of good old resident evil
It's SUCH a good/fluid way to do a loading/unloading.
They even have the “item examine” mechanic from resident evil , where you look at a key item and spin it around in 3d to open it
I had a hard time the first few hours with this game, almost uninstalled, but powered through it and about 10 hours in it clicked, and now I'm actually really loving it, even the combat, once you get used to it and start working on builds and rotations, it's actually pretty good. I am playing on pc w keyboard/gaming mouse, so I dont have the navigation and button jenk that controllers apparently have
It's got some fun to it!
I am loving this on the PS5, was a bit MEH at first but as soon as I got into the levelling up char and gear, plus co-op dungeons I was hooked, was going to get new world but that is on hold for now, cheers for all the vids Renfail 🎉
Have fun :)
This game is actually dope. I felt the same way at first, then the light bulb went on and I made an alt. My alt is in better place at level 30 than my main at lvl 35. The game makes sense and I now have 3 weapons I’m leveling with 3 different loadouts and skills. There are different loadouts for both weapons and skills. Make the loadouts and skills match the weapons. So loadout 1 equipment and traits will go with skill loadout 1. Then so on and so forth. So I have 2 solo builds and 1 group build. Ranger solo for regular content. Paladin for open world dungeons. I forget the name for wand/bow. I used that for group dungeons as a healer. Once I made the three builds and level the weapons, the game became really interesting
Cool!
It's fun and late game offers so much!
Cheers!
@Renfail good videos brother 😁👍 keep er goin'
How is the inventory management? Are the items you get easy to understand?
it's your typical "level things up as you go along" type inventory. You get new things you can replace them with. But all items have tiers you can grind up. I'm old, I self-medicate, and it's VERY easy for me to understand, so everyone should be good to go.
@@Renfail Okay! Iam an long time black desert player and that game took some serious learning so this should be easy then! 🤣
Until Level 25-ish I was having a great time, then it all became too confusing.. layer upon layer upon layer of stuff that needs doing... Can't wait for NWA.
LOTS of stuff like any MMO :)
@@Renfail could be more fun if they sorted out the menu navigation on console, which feels forced over from kb/m not thought out for controller
@@manic_miner Hold down L3 and you activate the cursor mode, which allows you to select things as if it was a mouse. Really smooth too, doesn't have that slowed effect that many games have with cursors.
@@Syntari That sounds much better, thanks. Will try this.
@@manic_miner just take your time. Take breaks. You don’t have to do everything. It’s your own pace.
I mean, Anakin and Harry and Frodo are definitely chosen one stories so I reckon it depends on the handling and execution of a trope that makes or breaks it’s portrayal as engaging or off putting, 🥰 Glad you’re enjoying so many kick ass games this fall, brotha!! So looking forward to playing as well as watching your vids of Dragon Age VG!!!!
Yep! All tropes can work when they have an original spin on them :) Great examples! And yes....Dragon Age: The Veilguard is gonna be SO FREAKING AWESOME
You should try Warframe. It is fun.
Wasn't a fan when I tried a few years back.
@@Renfail it's changed a lot over the years.
@@davidludwig7501 i tried to be patient with warframe but the various currencies made it overwhelming
Beautiful looking game, reasonable character creation, story seemed ok to start...but it just didn't click with me. Maybe the character styles, the cutesy anime side kicks, the generic combat feel, or maybe I just wasn't in the mood. 3 hours or so in I logged out and probably won't be back.
Also heard the progression system is very unforgiving if you make the wrong choices, and you will hit a paywall at some point. Don't think that helped in the back of my mind.
It's 100% free to play. There is zero paywall.
@@Renfail I meant, in order compete or keep up you'll have to pay as it has P2W systems.
@@SodoMojo22 No, you don't. There is zero pay to win in the game. It's purely cosmetic and some convenience stuff. But zero P2W.
@@Renfail Thanks for clarifying. Perhaps I misread or misunderstood.
I can see that this game is not for you.this is not single player story game.story is not important here.like any other mmorpg end game is what matters.game is great.yes, little junky, but it just launched globally so i can unterstand that.i play this game instead of new world, coz thorne and liberty is really mmorpg.
I would try this game but the weird floating fairy keeps me out….and every review says this game is not newb friendly and impossible to respec
Yeah none of those things are true.
The floating fairy can be toggled off, and either way it will go away by the time you are level 12-15. I hated it too.
So let me ask you F2P players. So you are OK with playing this game FREE but you don't actually contribute by giving the company money for the great game they made that you play? Shouldn't you guys AT LEAST SUPPORT the game by buying the Battle Pass or some kind of cosmetic? What say you?
My support is the free advertising they get in the form of this video.
I’ve got 87 hours in and my battle pass complete already and to top it all I’ll keep chugging along and I’ll be able to get all the cosmetics for free. Yeah I’ll toss them $10 for support. That’s the cheapest entertainment value per dollar spent ever, and that’s not including the other 20 days left for battle pass token gains yet to come.
@@Renfail Welp that's just being cheap honestly. I mean, considering, games like ESO and WoW are subscription based (well in ESO it's voluntary subscription), you will make content for those games AFTER YOU PAY? I would consider TnL on the same level as those 2 games, considering this is a triple A (AAA) title. Honestly think your logic doesn't make any sense, especially since you are a content creator. Especially since YOU, YOURSELF get views from this content and by making this content you are also benefitting yourself. You comment also would make more sense if TnL wasn't much of a popular game and you are giving, "free" advertising to it. But honestly, this game is quite popular and you making this video as a small time streamer doesn't really give advertising to it. You are doing this mostly to benefit yourself from this title that IS enjoying quite a bit of popularity right now and YOU are riding on it.
