I love reggae and dancehall. Am named after a reggae artist. However I don't know outside the small, but active reggae scene a single album from JA that was considered the hottest album in the US. Or even top ten. Singles they have bin all over the charts. In JA singles have more power. US labels want a full album with at least 3 singles to sign on these days with backing. And it's the label getting the Peas that stuff. Not musical respect. Return on investment. Also consider the revolutionary emphasis on Black upliftment that scares the majority of the country. Funny enough the BEP's first less popular album also had that emphasis. The slight from labels and media rewards aside DMX is a major part of what made Sean Paul big in the US. Belly was his big break here 100%. Doesn't sound like he properly gets that even after recognizing X had just went platinum 3 times with three albums in one year. So even if his reason for disliking Sean P was based on a misunderstanding or bad communication X felt dissed probably because his movie and collab are provably what made him big in the US outside the reggae scene and even inside in really. It pushed deport them way up in the reggae scene. Rap DJ's added these tracks to their club sets. Same for Vegas.

They do that because they Want him to feel bad, low so they can get him into the cult. The Farrel and Timberland shows this. Demeaning behaviour but our Shaggy is no wanna be. He is it already.

Dance hall fans fight Sean Paul the most all wah gwaan, dem nuh rate the giant.......
REALEST OF THE REALEST!!!!!!
I don't get why people don't understand Jamaican patois. I can't speak it well but understand it like I do English. Maybe because I'm from Surinam and bilingual😅 Great interview. Love hearing SP tell these stories.
You right next to Guyana maybe that's why.....
Bro they hate on you because you jamaican but it's all good when you breathe on a track it's a bagger close to kartel level you have my respect
Been to Eastern Europe and Dubai many times. No one there knows who Kartel is but they know SP by name and music.
@@ruudvan8080 tell him FOH with the prisoner not in is League period.
Steve head a swell right now 🤣😂
Jamaicans hate it when non-Jamaicans say this but the truth is...BADDEST ARTISTS OUT OF JAMAICA FOR FOREIGN
1- Beenie
2-Shaggy
3-Sean Paul
4- General Degree
Put up that show in any country in Africa or Europe ....All artists will carry home no less than US25,000 and it WILL BE MASSIVE
Big up Sean Paul... The truth is DMX is a custie..

@Mr Lex Good point. There's simply not enough Jamaican people or people who can understand Patois in the world lol.
@Mr Lex Interesting perspective. I have a counterpoint but it totally relies on knowing whether Kpop songs are mostly in English or korean. If anyone could enlighten me I'd appreciate it..I'm not a big fan of the genre so idk. I dont want to go further into it unless I know that info but you can probably guess what my point would be.
Sweetheart they hate on you ! They know you are the best !❤❤❤❤❤❤
