Thanks for letting us know. The man is an excellent writer. It's sad that he left so soon. Loved Self-Titled and Nightmare.
@aeua Syn said in an interview that he wrote stuff but kept it in the dark because he didn't think it fit the Avenged Sevenfold style. His creativity always leaked to more eccentric things and not as heavy metal as they wrote at the time (no wonder some of their songs considered "weirder" had a great contribution from him). His father also said that in his residence there is a lot of lost material, melodies, harmonies and pieces of music that were not finished by Jimmy and not used by the band. Anyway "writing" is not limited to harmonies and melodies. It's always been said that Jimmy was a great orchestrator of ideas and I'm sure that was taken advantage of even in songs whose skeleton he didn't create.
I'm a big a7x fan. I have been listening to them since I was about 16. They are incredibly talented, highly intelligent and absolute masters of music. The lead singer actually grew up Roman Catholic. I'm sure many other band members come from a religious household. Otherwise no one would be able to write music the way that they do with such understanding of the stories from the Bible. Some of their music is biblically based. A Little Piece of Heaven is in my top five favorites. Buried alive being number one. Buried alive is not just my favorite Avenged Sevenfold song it is my favorite song of all time. As with all music The Listener interprets the song in their own way and to me this song represents the trials and tribulations of love. There are ups and downs and many emotions. But in the end love always comes out on top. Like in the video how he was in love so in love he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her but she laughed in his face. He loved her so much he didn't want to see her with anyone else and as the saying goes if I can't have you no one can. He loved her, he had his heart broken, he was afraid of life without her, then angry with her rejection. In the end they ended up together because love conquers all emotion. In any event that is my take on the song and if you haven't yet definitely check out buried alive. People have dubbed it their of Stairway to Heaven.

The composer was Steve Bartek, lead guitarist of Oingo Boingo, Danny Elfman's band.
