- WE LOST OUR HORSES!!! We went out to do morning chores and Oliver, Champ, Lakota, Rain, Happy, Legacy and Magnolia are KNOWHERE TO BE FOUND!!! This has never happened! They are ALWAYS waiting for their morning breakfast. We quickly jump on the atv to go search our 168 acre homestead!
Oliver is our coming 3 year old Clydesdale stallion we rescued last march.
Champ is our coming two year old Missouri Foxtrotter stallion.
Lakota, Rain, Happy, Legacy and Magnolia are our 2023 foals. All five foals are Missouri Foxtrotter’s which is a gaited horse breed.

When you couldn't find the sheep and they turned up later.... I wasn't worried when the horses were "missing". They were exploring.😅. One good thing about herd animals. They stick together. 😂

What a scary feeling, looking for your horses and they're not around. I'm glad they were safe and wonder where the hole in the fence is. Poor guys couldn't find their way back. It was so cute how they followed you just like you were their mama. ♥
Love your hat Emery! I need one of those LOL! Perhaps you can train them to come to an old fashioned triangle iron dinner gong! That sound will carry a long way. A fun anecdote, when horses were being unloaded off the ship's to Cuba in the Spanish American war, the horse's started swimming out to sea in the wrong direction. They called them back in by using a bugle call for the call to chow/eat. That turned them around quickly thank heavens.
Looks like Oliver is the leader of the group. Know my heart dropped when you spoke first. Love the videos. Oliver never ceases to amaze.
Oh Emeri kids and animals/pets can totally rearrange our days. Your morning routine was changed, not only in how long "breakfast" took, cause getting them all to the "table" didn't go as usual; but now you have the task of finding the break in the fence and mending it. Ahh, the joys of parenting, I mean farming.😂😂😂😂
Seriously though Emeri I so admire and respect you. I think JR found a true gem when he found you. You are the heart of your family and farm. A true helpmate to your husband.

Emery, you are too cute, lady! When I saw the video turned the wrong way, I actually thought - "oh she was stressed!!" LOL. Glad they all made it home!
I was lol! I mean I figured they were fine but you also just never know!
Whew! Glad all was well. ALL the horses look great. Oliver, especially when you know what he looked like when you got him, has turned into a very handsome guy. Our pastures were by a major road so anytime someone got out my heart would be in my mouth until I got them home. We had horses (still do), cattle, a donkey, goats and sheep. Goats were the worst escape artists, but we had a few moments ith calves and a grand old chase when our donkey took off for town. We had traffic stopped and provided amusement for the neighbors with that one.

Phew thank goodness they’d only gone exploring and hadn’t gone too far, a bit of a heart stopper though when you couldn’t see any sign of them at first.
I know they were out but it was so neat watching them come home with Mama. It is great seeing Oliver lead the kids. He is so wonderful. You guys have done so wonderful with him. I’m in love. He is just so special.❤❤❤

JR, Emory deserves a raise!!! She had to rescue the horses, feed them, and mend the fence that was broken. WOW is all I can say. Oliver looked sooooo handsome running to get to his food. Thanks Emory.
I just think it’s cute they follow the 4x4 !! So glad you found them but kinda knew exactly where to go. Beautiful country still and yes with a little rain that with green up again.

Thank you for the really nice video. It was really nice having an explanation of your farm. There's some beautiful scenery there. But the best part for me was watching Oliver gallop down to the lower field.It is so awesome to watch him gallop❤❤❤

I actually could tell how steep that was especially as you went farther down and looked up at the horses. Beautiful property and horses too of course. I especially adore Oliver

You will want to make sure they are chipped. That will protect them from theft and auctioning. Thieves look for big horses - by the pound.

Watching Oliver run down the hill with his mane and feathers flying is a beautiful sight. Just think about how he looked down in that disgusting feed lot and it's hard to believe he is the same horse.
We had a fence taken down by a tree removal company that had been contracted by the local power company to clear trees from the power lines. Sadly they did not inform us that they hand downed limbs on our fence line. Fortunately a neighbor notified us and my husband was able to free up the lines. I contacted the company the next morning & within an hour and a half, they came and cleaned up the mess. I had brought the pony in for the night and turned off the electric, laid my foot down that the issue needed to be corrected now. They accommodated. We were very fortunate that our Fjord did not escape, as the road has a lot of traffic and the thought of her getting hit was terrifying. Glad your horses were all fine! Earlier years, when we had more horses & they were out of sight, we kept a whistle by the entry gate to get their attention, it worked really well in bringing them in. Of course in this situation you needed to go find them, but might be a good idea as a back up. I know I’m am absolutely lousy at whistling, so having a regular whistle was a big help.
Never a boring minute with all your animals on the farm😉 !I am glad you found them so quick and everyone was o.k. 👍. The horses looked sooo good with their shiny coats and Oliver is the greatest beauty and miracle of them all!😍🐴👍

I'm glad that turned out well. Nice to have that acreage. My first horse loved to escape but we only had 5 acres on a country road. One day his luck ran out. Got a knock on the door before school one morning and this man was cussing. He hit my horse. I thought he was ok, looked like he was outside grazing. I breathed a sigh of relief as I walked to him. As I got to him I could see he wasn't grazing. He was trying to keep his balance. He immediately fell over and died from internal injuries. I was devastated. I loved that horse he was all I had. Will never forget that old man cussing about fixing his old truck fender. I realize it could have been much worse but it barely dented his old truck and he didn't care at all that he just killed a boys horse. I get it though it was our fault not having a good enough fence.

Relieved to see all 7 were found and okay. We've had problems with our fences being damaged by trespassers on snowmobiles & dirt bikes. Hope yours was an easy fix. Thanks for sharing. Oliver looked so beautiful in his run.
