Hello, friends. Today we are going to talk about speaking. Speaking is one of the main ways we communicate with other people, so it’s pretty important. That’s right, Ken. And, when we feel strongly about something, we want to tell others about it by speaking out. If you speak out, you tell people around you about something you care about or express your opinion about a certain topic. Ok, here is an example. If you feel strongly about taking care of the environment, you could speak out and tell others why you feel that way and what they can do to help. Right. “Speak out” sounds very similar to another phrase - “speak up”. But, they have different meanings. “Speak up” can mean that you are speaking loud enough for people to hear you. Can you speak up? You are talking too softly. Does “speak up” have another meaning, Carolynn? Yes, it can mean that you talk about something without fear or hesitation. For example, if you see someone being bullied, you should speak up and tell a teacher or someone with authority.
Can you speak up? I can’t hear you.

How about "speak up for"? Is it the same as "speak out"? Thanks for your attention.

      Speak up! I can't hear you.
      2.speak up for sb 替... 發聲

      3.speak out 說話了
