Beautiful! Wonderful entrances at 1:38, 3:05, and...and at 4:09. This is more difficult to play than expected, and Bouriakov makes this vocalist warm-up a delightful concert piece. Again, he emulates the female voice with his flute.
In addition to have an amazing tone, technique, articulation etc., Bouriakov has an amazing pitch. Listen how in tune he plays this piece, listen when the piano hits a note exactly unison with the flute at 4:30. simply amazing!
Ishibashi's exquisitely beautiful playing makes it quite impossible for Bouriakov not to emote, share and float away and be not exceedingly meditative with the piece. At 1:32, for example, she takes the time for that oh-so-beautiful harmony practically forcing Denis to an unheard of pianissimo afterwards. Thank you, Denis, for posting. I think you and Ishibashi are a great musical pair and I love your performance of the work, here.
Entender la musica de Rachmaninov no es facil, requiere una fuerte disposicion a revalorar la existencia, los matices que hacen la vida. Vocalise op 34 No 14. Evoca con magistral la perdida como la añoranza, la tristeza y la felicidad. Una casa solitaria que mira esas estepas rusas blancas e inconmensurables doblegando al ser humano.
Amazing breath control and distribution. Assuming he is not circular breathing there are some incredibly long phrases played without an intake of breath! Lovely sound too.
Absolutely gorgeous! I'm in Australia and have always loved this piece since childhood. You played it like a master! Well done. I thoroughly enjoyed your presence. BRAVO.
