Hello friends!
My first collab! I can't put into words how excited I am to finally show you this project. A BIG shoutout goes to my partner - in - editing, @clavilon. An emily x jo video wouldn't have been as great without his incredible ideas and talent. It's been a pleasure, truly.
A big thank you also goes to @osivids. Like a month and a half a go she posted a snippet of her new video, and that was the true inspiration for this pairing. I don't think she truly know what she unleashed that day, lol.
BY THE WAY, how well do Emily and Jo work together? It was such a PLEASURE to find all the parallels and they ways they fit each other. This is NOT the last you'll see of this couple.
The possibilities with these two are endless, but for this video in particular, this is the plot we followed:
A beach, the sound of the waves, the warmth of intimacy in the shape of soft hands and blue eyes. That’s all Emily Dickinson can dream about, her unknown muse
When the March sisters arrive in Amherst to visit family, Mrs. Dickinson can’t invite them to one of her parties soon enough. Jo, not being too fond of this kind of thing, wanders and finds Emily. Soon the two find common grounds in the passion for writing. And through their words, they start to have feelings. They don’t fully understand them, and even if they get closer and closer, they are afraid of them. This tension builds up until it explodes under a disagreement on Jo’s writings and the two fall apart.
Years passed and Jo decided to return from New York, running into Emily at the theatre. They rekindle their friendship, with an ember of their feelings for each other coming back to the surface when they remember the good times they had in the past. Only this time there are more obstacles in the way, with Emily being engaged to Ben Newton -her father's clerk-, and Jo thinking about accepting the proposal she had rejected years prior from her best friend, Laurie.
Both start feeling jealous, but it's Jo who decides to confront the feelings they have by asking her to leave Ben and to be with her. Emily, a bit hesitant about leaving the life she could have and still feeling a bit weary about Jo's relationship with Laurie, asks her to always love her more than him. Then, they officially start having a romantic relationship.
After some time, Jo decides to create a school in the house Aunt March gifted her. She happily lives there with Emily, who also teaches poetry and takes care of the garden.
The March family is aware of Jo and Emily's relationship, and is very supportive of them.
Everything seemed fated to them, but it became clear to Emily the day she went to the beach with Jo. Memories of a dream she had want felt centuries ago came flooding back.
Jo March was, is, and always will be, her unknown muse.
