Very informative. I would use it on an old Creative Zen Jukebox, which was an early MP3 player that had a 40G spinning disk for storage. Probably only good for historical and nostalgia purposes, since modern MP3 players can be almost smaller than the bare M2 disk! Bringing old laptops back to life with SSDs and Linux is a great idea, since many functions don't require a lot of CPU power, such as networking, etc., and it saves a lot of computers going into the landfill.

I have a Dell XP laptop with a 100 GB hard drive that is an IDE drive and also Pata um is my understanding that you cannot plug a SATA converter card into a Pata slot and then use an SATA style SD card is this true or I believe the IDE type of Pata card or hard drive is limited to a maximum of 128 gigabytes and so you would not be able to use a 256 gigabyte SA TA card is this true?

I did this on a 30yr old laptop and no kidding its so fast now you can run anything 32bit has to offer anymore. Cant go above windows 8 though as its only an i686 but holy crap is it crisp and snappy now

i think main think is that adapter. That SSD chip we can extract from any ssd laying around our house right? or we have to buy whole thing ?

This one is specific for ide old disc's, if you need a ssd adapter for Sata is a different one, check my other mail
