Really expecting this to be done by Halloween by how much progress the cm team has made. I'm glad I got 3 of these things while they were on sale :) family is gonna love me this holiday season.
You guys are doing a wonderful job, a lot faster than anyone has expected. I, for one, will be patiently waiting until a stable kernel is done before messing with my Touchpad. Hopefully, we can get a Beta soon. Love WebOS but can't wait for the more accessible Android OS. Keep up the good work guys.
@DJYunMusic You can, will need a special kernel with the overclock bits installed that we currently don't do any work on due to other more pressing priorities.
Прохоже и андроид и дуа бут уже смахивают на реальность и придают оптимизма и желания ждать хорошего релиза от вашей команда. Так же крайнее признателен за то что информируется общественность.
excellent tutorial!!! got it working the first try! the only thing I did differently is that I copied the market fix into the cminstall directory in the beginning. and it all updated by itself. Thank you so much CM team!! The dolphin browser feels faster than the webos one!
I just want to say that the CM team are awesome. Just think. By next year, Touchpad owners will have access to Android Ice Cream Sandwich thanks to these guys. I can wait, because I know the end result will be good. Keep up the good work!
@greentheonly What would be a current dir? Do I need to change directory at all or can I use the /opt/nova/bin/novacom - with ACMEinstaller inside the 'BIN' dir. None of the commands work. I must be doing something wrong. I just can't figure out what. Thanks in advance for your help.
@greentheonly I've tried all of those possibilities and I can't get it to recognize the command or find the Touchpad after restart. I tried dragging the path for ACMEInstaller from the FInder and that doesn't work either.
When I did this, the Novacom daemon wasn't running, any particular why this is so when on a Mac? I had to first start the daemon in one terminal window, then run the install command in another.
@nunjadamnbusiness 1.5G is /data partition that was carved out of the media partition. The square "buttons" is an image on the original plastic wrap of the touchpad when you take it out of the box as was already pointed out.
@greentheonly it is connected because i can put the update zip file on the touchpad but once i try to run the novacom command it says unable to find device
@greentheonly Yeah.. I reinstalled the webOS SDK and tried again, this time after I entered the command it did not respond with any error, but actually no response at all... The large USB logo is still on the touchpad screen, instead of the flowing command lines... Can I interrupt, like reboot the device, and try again at this time?
@greentheonly I am having some trouble. I cd desktop, which is where i downloaded the file, and then execute the command, but it says unable to find device. What should I do? My device is plugged in and it is showing the same usb logo yours is showing. Thanks!
I'm having the same issue where my screen is stuck with USB Sign and my desktop (which has os of ubuntu 11.4) does not show Hp Tablet in the folders list. Any help is appreciated.
Hi @greentheonly I was able to upload the gingerbread port on my touchpad successfully. My problem is when I select the option to reboot to WebOs it doesn't do so, it still boots back to CM7. Please help? I don't want to run webOS doctor again and restart everything :(
@greentheonly greentheonly, awesome vid, been awhile hope to view another one soon! So a few questions: Does touchstone tech., led notif, front camera, beatsAudio and compass work on Android? On the launcher homescreen, can apps and widgets go on the right side too? i see the right side not being used. Wouldn't stop me from installing just curious. -Thanks again for this awesomeness!!!
Installed the SDK, Palm Novacom and Palm TCP Relay services are running. After the install TouchPad is no longer recognized as a "device" by windows and when I feed ACMEInstalled to novacom.exe I get "unable to find device" message. Any ideas what might be preventing TouchPad from being discovered by the OS?
I am trying this from win7 and when I run the command it just sits and blinks. I have the acmeinstaller in the Palm, Inc dir. And the command seems to start but there is no action.
@greentheonly i did everything how it have to be done. but after I runned the command line : "novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller" the Touchpad switch to the HP-Logo and after 20-30minutes it boots to WebOS Any ideas how to fix it ??
@greentheonly Hi, i did exactly as you instructed: create "cminstall" under the root of HPTOUCHPAD, load ACME Installer with the direction where the novacom.exe is, and run cmd.exe in Windows, type in "novacom boot mem://
it ran the linux stuff and said could not find install files for cm7? how do I get this to reset so I can remount the drive and recheck the files being there?
@greentheonly Ugh! You are right. The ACMEInstaller that I downloaded is somehow broken. Installation in progress now! Thanks a lot! You guys really rock.
@greentheonly see wen i install moboot via Command promt.......there comes the list of options on TP.....like webos and aandroid and all.....but wen i reboot the TP ..it cant load WeBos....
I'm having the same issue where my screen is stuck with USB Sign and my desktop (which has os of ubuntu 11.4) does not show Hp Tablet in the folders list. I'm unable to execute last command novacom boot mem: // < ACMEInstaller. I have tried to disconnect USB from desktop and reconnect multiple time (after waiting for 30 min) but nothing seems to be working for me. Question i have is: 1. How do i make my Hp Tablet show up on desktop (having ubuntu)? 2. How do i execute novacomm command?
i am doing it the same way as in video with a mac osc but when i run novacom boot mem://< /Users/Macbook/Desktop/installer/ACMEInstaller i get the error unable to find device please hlep?
if i overclocked the processor in webos will that have any effect on the processor speed and the way that cm7 will install? will i have to put my touchpad back to stock?
@greentheonly Thanks, so if i understand correctly, webos doctor can undo a dual boot, but doesn't adjust the partitions back to their original size? So in the event one needs to undo the android install, you need to run the metadoc script then webOS doc? Should i choose to install android alone in the future, is there a guide somewhere? I'm not a noob, but not a developer either...lol. Thanks again...
@greentheonly can you change the amount of space you allow for android media? I know 1.5 is a lot for apps but I would rather have more.. And what if I download a HD VIDEO in android from a torrent site where would it save to?
@LokiTime you put the moboot zip into cminstall dir along with the rest of files on first install. Or now you just drop it there alone and reboot into installer
Great work so far! I have a 16Gb and 32GB Touchpad. Is there an estimate on the amount of storage CyamogenMod will take on the Touchpad once complete? Thanks
I am getting this error in the terminal: -bash: ACMEInstaller: No such file or directory Macintosh-149:~ dustinm$ What am I doing wrong? I put the acme installer into the same directory and all that but it won't continue. I got up to the part where you restart and hold the volume up button and i put the terminal code in and I got that error. help is greatly appreciated. perhaps it's because I updated to the newest webos? thanks in advance.
@9sindhiguy I found it neccessary on my macbook to not only unzip the ACME from zip state but also open the folder and drag the the text file into the Terminal then press enter to boot.
euh how do i start novacom?? touchpad is now with usb cable likeon 3:50 but doesnt do anything and my pc doenst reconize novacom i have web os 3.0.4 77. so im stuck
im not sure if i did it right... LOL but is there a way to tell the difference between alpha 1 and 2? which specific apps are compatible now that wasnt before?
ok im seriously stumped.....cant find the damn novacom.exe file anywhere i have DL 4 different things and none have the novacom exe....also doesnt create a ProgramFiles/Palm, Inc file.....I DL all the other stuff and put it on the touchpad so now im up to the extract ACME installer into Palm, Inc file part,...and no novacom exe to run in command prompt....please help! I have watched video OVER AND OVER and i did everything right up to here and now im stuck
@axman2121 When I try to install Novacom on my Mac when it's almost finished it says "Installation Failed." But then after that it says the "drivers were installed successfully". Does this not work with 10.7 Lion? Or did it install and it was just being stupid? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.
i doe comand prompt thing like you say i put file direction C:\ACMEInstaller$ novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller doesnt do any thing says file not found
@spiderxro. Thx, I was able to locate novacom. Should I put ACMEInstall into the novacom folder or to the bin folder. Well, I installed to the novacom folder and i got the not recognized msg after running the command line novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller. I am uninstalling webos to retry from scratch again. Again, thx much
PLEASE ANSWER i enter in the last command novacom boot mem: // < ACMEInstaller and it does not work?? did i enter the command right???? PLEASE ANSWER PLEASE ANSWER

Thank you! Just installed and is running very smooth! All apps from the market that I tried are working. No bugs to report yet!
excellent tutorial!!! got it working the first try! the only thing I did differently is that I copied the market fix into the cminstall directory in the beginning. and it all updated by itself. Thank you so much CM team!! The dolphin browser feels faster than the webos one!

@greentheonly means wen i select reboot to WebOs ....android predomindly opens .....without moboot options...
@greentheonly I am having some trouble. I cd desktop, which is where i downloaded the file, and then execute the command, but it says unable to find device. What should I do? My device is plugged in and it is showing the same usb logo yours is showing.
Thanks!
@9sindhiguy Ah! Did you reboot with the volume-up key pressed so that there is usb symbol on the entire touchpad screen?
@mohitgandhi Ok. So if you choose just "reboot", you do see the menu. If you choose the WebOS option there, does it work?
Nice work as usual guys.
I've decoded the morse code in the background and it says 'This is fracking awesome'.
Haa right, i didn't specify the path to novacom. It's working now !
Thank to you and to the CyanogenTeam for your awesome work !
Good job guys on the install ...So im curious whats next for cm7 team
@cbg777 moboot and clockwork instals are just two more files added to the cminstall dir at the start
@raynorshi possibly the novacom drivers did not install properly?
Nice work Cyanogen crew! Thanks for all your hard work!
I need to know. Does Netflix work? Its not supported in web OS. Android is my only hope on having it work of this tablet.
@mohitgandhi you mean you pass in the palm uImage?
make sure the uImage.moboot is in /boot and uImage symlink is pointing to it.
when i type in the novacom boot mem:// < ACMEInstaller
line i get a blank line in cmd and nothing happens on my touchpad
I'm having the same issue where my screen is stuck with USB Sign and my desktop (which has os of ubuntu 11.4) does not show Hp Tablet in the folders list. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you for thinking of us an making such an easy install. Thank you for all the great work
just want to say thanks for all your hard work! Look forward to having android on my HP Touchpad

After you set up the dual boot how much storage space do you have left? This would be on a fresh install with no additional apps installed.
Found an Install guide that said to rename moboot and clockwork to add update at the beginning is this correct?
i am doing it the same way as in video with a mac osc but when i run novacom boot mem://< /Users/Macbook/Desktop/installer/ACMEInstaller
i get the error unable to find device please hlep?
@mohitgandhi well, if it's not booting, you should know it's not booting, so is theer anything on the screen or how do you know it does not work?
@greentheonly means moboot not working from tp...i use command for it to work
if i overclocked the processor in webos will that have any effect on the processor speed and the way that cm7 will install? will i have to put my touchpad back to stock?
I cannot get the terminal to work on my mac for the ACME installer
Can you tell me what directory I need to have the acme installer located on a mac?
where can i get that little stand you are using for you touchpad??
so to install the alpha 2.1 i just download the file then rename it to update.zip then boot in CWR to install update from there?
@greentheonly Thanks, so if i understand correctly, webos doctor can undo a dual boot, but doesn't adjust the partitions back to their original size? @greentheonly yes i didn't install that. do you have a video/text on how to install moboot?
@LokiTime you put the moboot zip into cminstall dir along with the rest of files on first install.
Or now you just drop it there alone and reboot into installer
It works!!! Holy crap I'm impressed! This is amazing guys!! Great job!! Donation definitely headed your way.
@TheVimFuego I can only guess there is some sort of pet in the background that we can't see and they are using some sort of hammer device...
Great work so far! I have a 16Gb and 32GB Touchpad. Is there an estimate on the amount of storage CyamogenMod will take on the Touchpad once complete? Thanks
Beautiful, I'm really excited for this. You guys do great work so thank you.
I am getting this error in the terminal:
-bash: ACMEInstaller: No such file or directory
Macintosh-149:~ dustinm$
What am I doing wrong?
I put the acme installer into the same directory and all that but it won't continue.
I got up to the part where you restart and hold the volume up button and i put the terminal code in and I got that error.
help is greatly appreciated. perhaps it's because I updated to the newest webos?
thanks in advance.

@mohitgandhi if moboot is not working, how d oyou boot into webos then?
My Touchpad cant reboot to WebOS?
When i do the "Reboot to WebOS" it showed HP icon for a couple of second and it just go back to Android
If I choose to restore my HP Touchpad on the webOS side will it remove the Android as well? Its probably a dumb question but just wondering, thanks!
@9sindhiguy I found it neccessary on my macbook to not only unzip the ACME from zip state but also open the folder and drag the the text file into the Terminal then press enter to boot.

im not sure if i did it right... LOL but is there a way to tell the difference between alpha 1 and 2? which specific apps are compatible now that wasnt before?

@axman2121 When I try to install Novacom on my Mac when it's almost finished it says "Installation Failed." But then after that it says the "drivers were installed successfully". Does this not work with 10.7 Lion? Or did it install and it was just being stupid? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks guys.

If it does, will it screw up Ubuntu chroot
@786esKay That's a sure sign of corrupted ACMEInstaller file, or did you just forget to unzip it?
