For my family, it’s the exact same price for Apple One as it is for each service we pay for. So it’s 100% worth it for us. We have Apple Music Family ($15), 2TB iCloud storage ($10), and Apple TV+ ($5). That totals $30 a month, so for the exact same price we can get all the same stuff plus Apple News+, Apple Arcade, and Apple Fitness+ for free.

I actually just downgraded from the 50GB plan to the 5GB plan a couple of weeks ago. I realised I had lots of files I didn’t really use stored in iCloud Drive and lots of backups for devices I don’t use anymore. After clearing those out, I was able to get close enough to 5GB to just transfer some files to OneDrive and then be on the free plan for both.

I typically don't like the subscription models for some of the reasons that you mentioned. But I don't mind paying for cloud storage for photos. The fact is, hard drives die or get stolen. I think you're right to advise people to consider their personal usage of Apple One components, but I look at these elements considerably differently than you.
Apple News+ isn't about "exclusivity" but presentation. It does magazines and newspapers, many of which are specially formatted for Apple News+. These render spectacularly on an iPad, making their Apple News variants better than the original print versions. And the ability to configure - and essentially curate - your own news feeds makes News+ astoundingly good value. It's certainly better than just hoping an algorithm on will serve up what you're looking for. Also: you can save news stories from a variety of different sources for offline viewing and get news alerts via notifications and now widgets. In short, if you're someone who follows news, you're gonna have a hard time finding anything that's nearly so useful.
AppleTV+ is, by contrast, the one thing most people probably won't have to pay for, because you get a free year every time you buy almost any new Apple device. Unless you buy a new device less than annually, this part of Apple One is likely redundant.
As for AppleMusic, sure, it obviously depends on how much you're using it. Or, maybe more accurately, how much your family is using it - or how long you've amassed your own iTunes (now AppleMusic) library. One great use of it is to make playlists that your non-cohabitating family can instantly use. Or to send younger family members Apple-curated lists of genres or artists. Can other services offer this? Maybe. But if your family all have iPhones, why would you need to look to another service? And if you've had playlists created for over a decade, you're only asking for more work to switch to some other service. Moreover, if you're deep in the Apple ecosystem and have a tvOS, macOS and iOS device, there's zero incentive to use anything but AppleMusic.
Finally, iCloud storage is definitely worth it, especially if you're on a family plan with others who are not physically resident with you. It's arguably worth it, even for an individual, because it makes setup of new Apple devices a breeze. Maybe you have perfect, never-fail hard drives and devices, but even one catastrophic drive failure on a boot drive will make you glad that you've saved all your data to iCloud. Even if you do have a local backup solution, having iCloud as a tertiary backup provides a peace of mind that's worth more than the monthly price, in my opinion.

Arcade and TV+ are $5 a month each which doesn’t seem that bad on the surface, but are there enough games and TV shows to warrant consistently signing up for every month moving forward? Or can you potentially rotate these services once a month (or every quarter) since there is only 24 hours in a day?

You touched on what it is, but how exactly are you/how can we avoid it, when data is constantly growing and piling on? It seems so easy to pull the trigger and upgrade from 200GB to 2TB, but then you’ve just progressed yourself into the iCloud Storage Trap! Then Apple will come out with their 3TB, 4TB, 5TB plans and if you keep progressing further into their trap, like you said, your monthly expenses will just 📈🤯! Is Apple did the same thing with Games on Arcade or shows on TV plus or magazines for example, they would be better off. I get it selling subscriptions is a better thing to do for a business but give people the option to buy out right as well.

I have a specific playlist on YT that I add new tunes to and when it gets a bit large I’ll spend some time converting and adding them, I’ve been doing that since the early 00’s. Being lazy is expensive. I have one sub with Apple, 0.79 p/m for storage and as much as I hate seeing that one charge every month, it’s a cheap monthly reminder not to add any more, from ANY company.

For 20 PLN you have only Apple Music and for 25 PLN is the Apple One. 1$ = 4 PLN, so there’s only a bit more than 1$ difference for all the services vs just apple music. But don’t be jealous - devices are way more expensive compared to US prices.

Great Video! I recently subscribed to the iCloud 2TB plan. I have always used external drives for back up but have always been concerned about drive failures. I thought iCloud would be a good way to keep all of my photos, documents, etc backed up without having to worry about losing everything due to an external drive failure. The other reason I went to iCloud is that i'm going to be splitting time at opposite sides of the country. I feel like I'll want to have access to my stuff while i'm away from home base. Is there a better way to do this? Is there a better way to back up? I'm also a photographer in my spare time so I have quite a photo collection. I swap out drives every couple years to be on the safe side and have multiple backup drives. Ugh.... Any thoughts or ideas would be great! Thanks.

I do this very smart, I have a special budget for monthly subscriptions. Meaning, if I subscribe to a service another service of the same kind / price will have to be cancelled. So I don't add each service on top of eachother. And the service that is cancelled should always be worse (in content, price etc) than the new service. For every kind of service I have an "allowance" of 2. Apple One and RUclips music. Apple One (TV) and Disney+, Amazon Prime (discounts, prime video and Twitch prime) and GamePass and Apple One (Arcade). See here some of these have multiple services. So they count as 1/2 or 1/3 for each of these services. Also there is an upper limit to all of this, and if that limit is passed the most expensive and least used service gets cut off.

Quite frankly, I've always hated monthly payments.
I don't have to pay for home wifi, since I still live at home, and there are other monthly expenses that I can avoid because of that.
But all in all, I try to stay under 20€ / month for EVERYTHING. It's been working quite well, actually. Since you can share most services, and student accounts are a thing, this really works out well for now.
I pay below 19€ total for:
    - A shitty phone internet plan,
    - Netflix,
    - 3 Domains,
    - iCloud 50GB,
    - A VPN,
    - Amazon Prime,
    - and some D&D stuff that I'm gonna be cutting down on next year probably.
(Thinking of dropping some of these D&D tools that I rarely use for the 1€ Google Drive subscription)
I'm just saying, you can make it work with little to no compromises, and you save a shit ton of cash.

I think you bring up good points and thoughts that should be considered. However, I think you really over look the bulk aspect, especially when considering speeding the payment. Granted, if something does happen you do lose your library (at least until you can start back up the subscription again), but potentially paying $5 a month for Apple Music, fitness +, news +, arcade, 2tb of iCloud, and tv+ cannot be understated (less than $1 per service at that rate).
I think a much more potent argument is now this pretty much locks in many people; if one family member wants to switch to android it might not work. They’d be losing access to so much content, and raising the price for others too. On top of the price of switching ecosystems.
Maybe this plan doesn’t make sense for some, but I think it does for many.

Apple One is a good idea on paper, but it's way too structured. If Apple opened it up and allowed you to customize a plan based on what services you want, at a discount for bundling them, it would make more sense. The Individual plan for me would be nice, but I don't care about Apple Arcade. Number-crunching I would pay less money per year just paying for the individual services I actually use and want, as opposed to going with Apple One.
