I love how the title says 'Remove it the easy way' and then he goes 'you may need an assistance for this, it's quite difficult' hahah. Nice tutorial anyways :)
Bro, thank you so much for this video. I'd been having so much trouble getting the, "Jingly" bracelet off of my model 5, and didn't realize how much force I had to apply to those spring pins until seeing your video. You're a lifesaver! Changed it out for a clean black leather strap that's comfortable and it looks so much nicer.
@@YourTechGuide. The principle of how you did it and the force applied was enough to help me out, wrong tool or not, your video was helpful. Thanks again man!
+Thad Laski you're more than welcome and thank you for watching my video, please return a favour by SUBSCRIBING to my channel as it will help me out a lot. thanks again!
It's all down to the spring bars you're working with as there are different types. !!! If you're working on a new watch or a watch untouched from new then you should have no problems as they'll have the correct spring bars fitted which will have a double flange to the ends. The first flange prevents the bar from entering the lug too far and the second flange allows you to prise the bar open quite easily with your chosen tool. I've used both a spring bar removal tool and a very small watch makers screwdriver where access is very limited which is quite often the case, you'll need to take extra care with the screwdriver to prevent yourself slipping. Problems arise on pre owned watches where the wrong spring bars have been installed, usually without flanges, those need to be cut through or forcibly bent to free the bracelet which obviously risks damaging the watch lugs. Just be very careful, use a loupe or a magnifier which will make it easier if it's a struggle and try to hold the spring bar under tension until it's clear of the watch lugs.
this video helped! the spring bar tool i got was too wide and the grocery store i went to happened to have a tiny screwdriver set and I was finally able to replace my watch band. have had my watch for almost a week just staring at it waiting until i can get my band sorted. thanks!
Damn man, Thank you. None of the other vidoes were showing me the correct strap. I almost pried it off with a flat head screwdriver, but stopped cause it didnt feel right.
Great post RTG, Lucky i had XRay specs on as the first pin you described removing, holding carefully, shot straight into my face, only i could score a win like that. Beauty Mate.
Ya! I bent the end part trying and failing to remove my Seiko bracelet. It now makes a 'ting ting' noise as it's loose :( Their spring bars are extra hard to release and the new link pins with spring are a nightmare too. What are you doing Seiko?
+Robert Watts LOL ahaha, im glad my video helped you. anyways thanks for watching, pls don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel as it will help me out a lot. thanks again!
He didn't "adjust" a damned thing. I switched bands on mine by looking at how it works, took it apart and put in new parts; gotta resize it now. R&R, just like auto repairs. The labor costs are what kill you if you take either to "authorized" repair places for certain items. You can change your own oil as easily as putting this thing together and save a bunch of money.
Great video thanks for sharing. I have an older Seiko watch. I need a new band for it. Where can I buy a Seiko Band? How do I tell Seiko which band I need? I will look forward to your next video
Love your videos. I just bought the Monster SRP637K1. My question is how easy is it to change straps? Are the pins spring loaded or do they screw out? from the tops?
To make it even easier , bend the band ends both sides up just a little and that will free up the strap and press them back down when finished , this will also give you more room to remove the pin , and cut a v in the end of your screw driver and thin it out to fit in to small spaces .
you're more than welcome my friend, anyways, thanks for watching my video, pls don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel as it will help me a out a lot, if not that's fine. thanks again my friend.

Excellent video, very clear instructions. Just got an SKX007K2 and want to switch to a Nato strap. This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks for posting. If I may. How can I remove the extra links from the Jubilee bracelet?
Hi! I have a bit of a dilemma. I have a 20mm lug width watch but I already bought a 22mm bracelet. Any idea on how I can make it fit? Should I buy additional 20mm spring bars?
Your probably gonna have to bend or break the springbars. Hold the links nearest the watch head and try and get a slim screwdriver, knife or tool in the gap between bracelet and watch head and try to twist the bracelet free. You may have to bend or break the springbars or bracelet to free it. Goodluck.
The use of a screwdriver instead of the correct V tool is only for experienced watch repairers; a beginner is quite likely to scratch the watch with a screwdriver - get the correct tool - they are dirt cheap, but your watch may not be!
I never could get the band off that way so, since I wasn't going to be reusing the spring rods or band, I took pliers and just ripped the band off on each side (bending the rods to make them shorter). The quick and dirty way.
I have the seiko sarb 033, and I just spent 3.5 hours trying to put the band back on. I have easily put the spring bars back in using the tool (or flat screwdriver) in order to change out leather straps, but it is seemingly impossible to fit the original bracelet's guards back onto the watch. Anyone else have this problem?
you're more than welcome my friend, thanks for watching my video, pls don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel as it will help me out a lot, if not that's fine. thanks again my freidn.
You need to use this tool to remove the SKX jubilee bracelet. The standard Bergeon 6767-F doesn't work with this one as it uses much thicker spring bars due to ISO requirements. If you do it right, it's actually quite easy. I've got a SKX009 and I haven't had any problem.
you're more than welcome my friend, pls don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel as it will help me out a lot, if not that's fine. thanks for watching my friend.

Short and to the point, my favorite type of instructional video. Thanks!
Ty for this!!! I've had my grandfather's watch for years, and I'm finally able to get a good clean and replace the band!!

Those wings on the backside of the bracelet do a great job blocking access to those pin grooves.
I dabble with watches for friends, but this is a great tutorial for those without tools, well done!!!
Finally found your video showing the curved guard like on my vintage seiko. Now I know the guard is a separate piece! Thanks!
Very helpful, this has saved me £10 at the watch shop. Just putting my new waffle strap on the Sea Urchin I've got. Thanks

Title says 'the easy way" but then right in the video the demonstrator says "You might need an assistant." "It is quite difficult to remove it." LOL
Thanks. I have been fiddling with this for 20 minutes
Agreed with all, thanks for the quick, informative, straightforward tutorial. Just what I needed to know!

When I did this the spring shot off and went up my nose. It is now lodged somewhere in my brain so I had to buy a new spring 😔
Agree! It is easier to buy a new spring than a brain. 😱
There's probably nothing up there just remove the top
Ooof
My spring is in Jupiter's orbit🤧
I never saw my spring 😊

Thanks a lot, appreciate the guide. I've been trying to use my springbar but wont work too easily on this specific bracelet
Nice that was fast and with basic tools . Thanks man!

Your good at that. I can’t even find the groove on my Seiko spring bars.
I just now swapped bands thanks to this video.
Outstanding job and thank you

What model Seiko is this?
What model Seiko is this? I have the Spirit line and it looks almost identical except for the crown guards on mine
Good video, you make it look so easy..
Love your videos. I just bought the Monster SRP637K1. My question is how easy is it to change straps? Are the pins spring loaded or do they screw out? from the tops?
Super Tutorial. Well filmed, clear sound, nice procedures.
The spring bar release tool didn't work for like 20 minutes, an xacto blade worked great, took me like 10 seconds for both bars.
Thank you for xacto tip. That worked way better than my watch tool
Definitely tricky however, this video did help
Nice video. Thanks, helped me a lot.
Once the bracelet is removed, can reinstall just the pins for use with a NATO strap?
You can also just use the needle on the two pins closest to the watch body. No need to separate the strap.
Best video that helps ❤
thank you this is very helpful, I manage to do it
Thanks for the video. Now i can learn a little bit.
Thank you very good instructions.
What is the specification of the spring bar as I lost mine?
Hello, It's possible with french langage for my problèm?
very helpful thank you man...!! warm regards from indonesia
really helpful!! thanks a lot!

Cut your screw driver? Are you for real bro? Just buy a spring bar tool. They're like $4.
You’re a lifesaver, i wasn’t able to get it until reading your comment. Thanks
Thanks with covid all the jewelry store are closed tryinf to replace lesther band with expansion band for comcort this will a ig help

alcavey return the strap and buy one that will fit
Thanks I am removing steel band for silicone
Is it necessary to undo the watch band at the clasp? Can’t you just take the watch strap off the watch at the lugs?
Yes, you can do it in one piece; I did it tonite.
I attached my seiko bracelet with my fossil and am unable to remove it, it doesn’t have any slit/groove what can I do

Had no trouble getting my bracelet off but all sorts of hell putting it back on. Still can’t get it on.
thank you, what model seiko is that btw?
your welcome. I cant remember. :(
@@YourTechGuide. Bruh it's literally on the back of the watch lmao 🤣🤦♂️
How do you get the size of the band width. Ie end piece width
Measure it? Or look up the lug width of your watch
what watch is that?
Watch novice here. Are all 22mm watch bands interchangeable with each other?
No.
Thank you for the replies. Im really loving the vintage hi beat king and Lord seikos ^^
Be careful with Lordmatics. They have plastic parts and very difficult to replace if they break.
I don't see how you adjusted the band. you took it off and put it back on. How did you remove a link?
Magic
Looks pretty easy! Thx :)

sorry my friend, I haven't experience that yet.
Have you found out a way to do it?
I’ve removed and adjusted many bracelets in my day, but this is by far the most difficult to remove. Wtf seiko.
Ya! and their crappy bracelet pins with the spring!? Nightmare Seiko!
Not Cool!
Well done! Thanks.

I've had my Seiko SKX for two weeks and I'm getting no where trying to remove the jubilee bracelet even with the tool.

If you're having trouble using the flat head screwdriver, try using a smaller one.
i guess i can apply this steps with my mako bracelet as well ?
What if there is no groove? i have the seiko 5 srpd61k1 and i dont see a damn groove haha
It can b hard... But why not get at least a cheap kit with a spring bar removal tool.. Or just buy the tool for a few bucks
Anyone knows what seiko model is that?

i celebrated two birthdays while watching this video. rip
thank you, sir
Used the video to opening strap of MK watch for changing battery. Did not remove entire strap, Used another video to open the back.
Thank youuu
Is it weird that I got a SEIKO advertisement before this vid
Thanks!

Video is blurred and not clear.
So if your watch and bracelet have bad tolerances, this method will work.
My hands hurt lol
Can’t see
Bruh Ive literally destroyed the bracelet cuz I cant remove it
