Hi mate. Great review. Almost all Australian macro lagers use Pride of Ringwood (or Super Pride). It’s got quite an earthy aroma that is fondly described as wet cardboard. Cheers!
You've heard me talk about Coopers many times, I just think it ticks all the boxes. That Stout I think is outstanding. You drink it and there's only one thing to say as you did. Oh thats good. Good on ya. Go Black 😎👍
It's my favourite of all the 'mainstream' stouts. Nice bitterness, not overly complex but still with nice stout flavours. It's great value as well in the long neck.
Can't go wrong with the Coopers stout hey. I just recently brewed a batch using their stout kit plus a can of their dark malt extract and 300g of steeped chocolate malt grains, made up to 19l. Bloody beautiful 👌 Need to try and be patient and let it age a few months more and I reckon it will be even better. Nice easy one that makes a really good stout.
Nice 1 Dino, I also found 1 of these Coopers Stout's in a can at the supermarket, great to see it here in can, I see the Coopers brewery have not long been canning but great to see an old school brand moving with the times, and still 'can conditioning ' as well 👍 cheers Dino 🍻🍻
Good video dino, I am a big fan of the coopers stout, and am trying to perfect an ag version. A good video for the future would be your take on an ag version
Thanks mate. Great to see this classic in a can. Always wouldn't mind it on tap, but I'm not sure we get it here. Yes an AG version would be a good idea. Let me know how you get on. Cheers
Good stuff dino I think it’s limited edition on all coopers cans cos they are 440 instead of 375 ml I was reading on there site something like that keep up the good work mate cheers 🍻
Get out of town, down the yorke highway thru pt Wakefield onto the freeway, turn onto the expressway, get off at regency Park and you're pretty much at coopers. I litterally live an hour and a bit away without roadworks and traffic. But im drinking my pb porter and my sunset "West coast" pale today, trying to tough it out with homebrew instead of buying beer atm aha, my life is so rough 🤣
Nice one. I bet the beers on tap there would taste even better being super fresh. Your porter and WCIPA sound good. Always a great feeling when your homebrews are as good or better than ones you can buy. Cheers
Sorry, I filmed this back in 2022. I can't recall the use by date, but stouts are good for at least a year in the can, if not more. Thanks for watching. Cheers 🍻
Guinness is it's own thing, for me. The Guinness draught at least. The guiness extra stout is more comparable, but coopers has just a bit 'more' of everything. It's my favourite.
@@Tasmanaut I'm on a 375ml stubbie of Cooper's extra stout right now after a 440ml can of Guiness stout. Have to agree that Coopers is a superior brew.
@@coconuciferanuts339 the Guinness draught cans are great as a session brew, but they're light on flavour. They're the opposite of what people imagine they are. If you drink Guinness, people assume its bitter and stouty and strong. It's actually creamy and watery. Coopers best extra is what Guinness haters think a Guinness is, lol. The Guiness extra stout in the long neck is worth a try, it's similar to coopers, just bit less bitter and bit less of roasty malt flavours. BWS have a deal atm where you can get any 3 longnecks for $22, it's worth picking up the Guinness extra and the coopers to compare. Cascade export stout is also worth a comparison.

Fine looking stout Dino,we don't get many Coopers beers over here, I've seen the sparkling ale but that's about it. Cheers mate and hope all is well.👍🍺
Thanks Dave. Hopefully more of the cans will make their way to the UK. Definitely better for shipping with the lighter weight. I think this Stout tastes better in the can, than the bottle IMHO. Cheers mate 🍻

Thanks for the info. POR is a true Australian hop for sure. Cheers 🍻

I sure have. It's a nice smooth tasty drop. It goes down very well for a 6.2%er. Cheers mate

Great to hear. It's totally a classic! Cheers mate 🍻

That sounds like a very tasty brew. And yes it'll only get better with some time. Smoother and more balanced. Cheers Jude 🍻

Nice one Mike and I totally forgot to mention these beers are can conditioned. Great point. Cheers mate
Good review Dino, not seen those cans around here, but will keep my eye open for one.
Thanks Roy. I got my can from Countdown. Cheers

Lovely. I did the Best Extra Stout recipe from the Coopers DIY site which turned out really nice. Cheers.
Thanks mate. Just watched and commented on your video of it. Cheers
@@tubedinoz ah cheers. The one I did on video I chucked in some chocolate malt as well, that turned out fantastic. Great kit the Coopers Stout.
Can't beat the Coopers originals. Cheers mate🍻
You sure can't. Old is gold. Cheers mate

Thanks mate. Good to know. Seemed like a fair price for that size can. Are you still brewing yourself? Cheers
@@tubedinoz yeah brewing slowly yeah does sound like a good price I’d grab a can 2 cheers 🍻

Well done brother, congrats on tasting this beer. It’s a cracker I love it for an Aussie stout
Thanks Rico. It's probably Australia's most famous Stout. Cheers
Yes I agree..... Bloody nice stout. I prefer it over the Guinness extra
Nice one Matt. Be even better on tap I imagine. Cheers mate
Lovely stout not to roasty, nice and smooth really good, I like it better than my all grain Irish stout.
Thanks Catherine. Can't beat a well made straight up Stout. Cheers 🍻
One very nice stout my go to when in the mood blows that Irish one out of the water.
I'd love to see the Coopers stout on nitro. It would be so good. Cheers mate
Use by date ? How long before no good ? But, I agree great stout & even better than guiness.
