I get the feeling with the title going back to normal Casey was like "what have I become?" and then he title the vlogs normal again. I am happy for that :')
+Ahmad Syahmirga I'd say it's all part of a try, test, rinse, repeat to see what garners the most attention/reception. Thus, I'm hoping the feedback from people who didn't like the click-baityness was well received.
Casey, you're awesome! Such an inspiration. You're outlook on life is really something I've taken to heart. Like the Santa man from your vlog the other day, you're an inspiration that is helping so many people!
As a man in my early twenties, it takes a lot of heart and guts to jump right into supporting a family nearly right after high school. It's great that you are giving advice to those people who are currently in that kind of situation, helping them to lace up their boots and look forward. Great job!
Dude, I have been watching you VLOGS daily for a while now but went back to watch this one and man its great stuff. The analogy of life being chapters in a book and recounting yours really hit me. Especially becoming an adult and seeing you with owen at age two. Your the man, never stop!
Casey you are such an inspiration, your analogy of life really spoke to me. If I would be in a chapter I would be in chapter 2, becoming an adult, I am currently at a standstill in my life and not really sure what I want to do or where I want to go. Its been extremely hard for me to start moving forward, however every day I watch your vlogs and they inspire me to do more, so I just want to say thank you. Thank you for being you and doing what you do. I hope to soon find my "New York" a place where I can grow up and make something of myself. And again thank you for being such an amazing human being!
Casey, I was introduced to you by my friend Jack and the first vid i saw of yours was the german waterpark video and i've been glued to your channel ever since, I watched all your old videos and since you've started vlogging, your lifestyle has inspired me to run in the morning before school, not let anyone else's words touch me and your even on my whitebard. I've mentioned you in assemblies and even have a few of your quotes tipexed onto my pencilcase such as 'DO THE RIGHT THING' and 'WORK HARDER'. Not going to lie i'm the biggest fanboy ever! I'm writting this to let you know that your a great man and have improved the lives of many, Thanks -Ted
The way you explain things are perfect. Teachers from schools all around the world should take some advice from the way you explain thing! 1000X easier to understand then 99% of teachers!
I kept skipping this video because of the title, but your line: "I don't believe that liking something so much should preclude you from trying something new." has made this one of my favorite videos. I've been debating leaving a job I like for the leap of faith doing my business/career... so THANK YOU for helping giving me that clarity!
New York city literally stands for everything that Casey has accomplished. He often said that he wouldn't be where he is right now if he hadn't done it in New York. Taking a quick bike ride trough the city, cruisin through the Streets of NEW YORK CITY with the boosted, working and be able to retreat in the studio when he needs time for himself, living in the community that exists in the building of his office, run through the streets of NEW YORK CITY, taking an afternoon off and take timelapses of NEW YORK CITY, the people living there, Marlyn the most awesome UPS delivery man ever, his friends + family, and of course BEME and everything related to the company. Long story short: New York City is the place where everything started for him. He went there when he had no clue where to go and just wanted to do it. He was in NYC on 9/11. His wonderful baby was born in NYC. BEME launched and developed in NYC. All the things mentioned above just where part of the development of an amazing man we and everyone else knows as Casey Neistat and he wouldn't be what he is without New York City. I think that NYC isn't just a city, it is a lifestyle that is incomparable to any other you could live in another city. NYC is a huge part of Casey and I think it will be a part that will be missed. But besides the people advising him not to leave NYC I rely on his 'confidence in who he is and the decisions that he makes' and hope to be able to watch this development in the next few years of the most awesome vlogs mankind has ever made. Do it Casey!
I've watched about a a third of casey's vlogs and out of all the timelapses in the videos i've seen, the intro timelapse of this video is my favorite one
I know, I know. I saw the nazi insignia and instantly knew. Especially with the whole killing a certain advertisement in New York. Not surprised. They should pay you for that now! It is Amazon.
The South African guy Dan is actually a really really good filmmaker and director, im surprised Casey didn't even mention his channel. But don't take my word for it -> Danthedirector
This was profound advice that related to a situation I’m going through right now. Nothing to do with moving between two cities really, more so about chasing a dream even if it means leaving something you love. Such a great video, I️ don’t even think you realize how applicable this topic was to so many other situations people may be going through. Thanks for another amazing video sharing your words of wisdom casey 👍🏻
I don't know if it's just a nuance I picked up but I love the sound of everything the box opening , the light switch , door closing , crumpling paper etc awesome !!! Thank you ... First time long time
BTW, it would seem this gigantic vlog-changing game-changer called 360 sure took a dump. And I don't just mean here. It seems everyone kinda lost the novelty really fast.
+NorthernChev +CaseyNeistat not to mention the creators control what the viewers see with normal(?) video. But in 360 the viewer can look around anywhere, so the creator no longer controls what information the viewer sees and the majority of their story is lost.
I think your whole life's story is pretty amazing, I started looking at your RUclips videos by accident. It all started by looking at the making of the "magic carpet" video. And me and my wife have been hooked ever since! We been "bin-watching" since this passed Saturday ALL your RUclips videos!! There're Great! Very positive, keep up the good work!!
I just realized why you almost always wear glasses in your videos, it makes it less distracting wen you check the monitor for framing. You are an amazing story teller, You make the mundane interesting. Keep telling the story niestat.
This is crazy watching now 7 years later after Casey had his whole LA chapter and now has returned to his first love NYC for a new chapter. I’m so glad he’s back
I relate in so many ways with your life story its awesome to hear you talk about your challenges! If you wrote a book I would definitely read it! Thanks Casey for sharing this!
"We're not going anywhere for years". Lol, your probably moving out of NYC next month :P Never make claims like this unless you want the opposite happen is my experience ;-).
Im predicting they buy a condo in Santa Monica in the next 6 months. Then he opens a studio out here either in Venice or Playa Del Rey. Part 2 will be half the Beme office moves here like Jack.
+Andrea Marcos I think he's probably going to get a larger house than a regular SM house my gut says most likely something around Brentwood country mart or that shopping area in Palisades.
This was such a great video. Some very powerful messages in here. You're so right about trying new things even if you like something already. It's something I can apply to when I go out to eat, I usually always get the same thing but that just means I don't end up trying something new.
Luke Jones What's the first thing you see before watching the video? The thumbnail and the video title. It is the most important thing to bring in your viewers. So that being said to always keep your viewers happy and not mislead, is to actually make real titles that are not bold and actually is a topic being discussed in the video, which is what Casey has done with today's upload. Clickbait does really piss a lot of fans off like myself. And don't tell me Casey's work is awesome, I already know that.
But why? Your point is irrelevant. I watch Casey's videos because I like his content and to keep your viewers you should keep them happy. So all the little things such as the thumbnail and title do add up and can change a lot of things.
Team Android Canada Yes that is correct but, It seems that some RUclipsr's just do it purely for the profit and by using your girlfriend in a bikini for the thumbnail and titles such as "BIKINI GIRLFRIEND GETS PRANKED" and the actual "prank" is only a 5 second clip and the rest of it is just 10 minutes of boring stuff and isn't entertaining like you have just stated. This paragraph is directed to RomanAtwood. I've been watching him for a while, and I watch him because I like him as a person and NOT for his clickbaity titles. His vibe and mentality is so positive there is no wonder he has all these subscribers. Just the manipulation of all these little kids that want to see some half naked girl isn't the right way to go at bringing in your viewers. And plus you're putting your girlfriends privacy onto the internet like that's a dick move.
watched your vlog that came out today i miss your vlogs being like this ... in the past recent days ive seen you talk more wisdom but i really do miss your vlogs when they were like this . ur the best casey!
"Liking something new shouldn't preclude you from trying something new". You just summarized the fault my life and changed my life with one sentence. I am freaking out.
I really needed to hear your words today. With a semi-lucrative job offer in a new city, I've been super stuck on what to do. I love my city right now. It's comfortable and lively and beautiful and full of people I love. But that doesn't preclude me from experiencing the same somewhere else. So thank you Casey!!
You're right man, I grew up and lived in Costa Rica but then I decided to move to Germany a few months ago because I wanted to try something else. Many people people may think is crazy, but I am very excited about it and what the future might bring!
@@seanmaxwell3319 wow never noticed even the 2 year question, now yeah 5 years later update: it's been awesome! I've seen and learned so many new things, understanding the culture was not so hard, but speaking the language is really hard, specially since I don't talk it everyday, my job is in english and I speak spanish at home, however I can do fairly good talking with anyone in german. I have seen quite a lot of places around here, the pandemic made me focus more on traveling around the country than outside of it. I made a video on my channel about the 5 years in Germany if you are interesting on seeing that, mostly about the places I've seen and it is in spanish but with english subtitles :)
6 years laters here and still the best duo ever. They inspired me to be a filmmaker as a teenager and now here I am living the dream. It's just mind-boggling! Love them.
Thank you for not diluting your videos, and making each one an individual storyline. This is really what separates your from other Vlogers. Your videos may be alot shorter, but are much more entertaining and enjoyable to watch. You can definitely see the amount of effort that goes into all your work. Thanks Casey, keep doing your thing! 🕶
Omg, both are my favourite! I know Dan takes some times to make a new film but I know it's worth it. He makes beautiful video so I don't mind at all waiting. And meanwhile I'll be watching your vlog Casey, you film everyday, share your life to inspire people. Both of you are awesome! :D Love from Malaysia!
I'm so glad I watched this vlog. I have a whole new perspective on things now that you have shared yours. thanks so much for inspiring me for the better. ☺☺
Im so glad to hear that you aren't leaving the city any time soon because I really want to come to the city one of these days and meet you. that would be the best 3 hour drive of my entire life
The second you talked about life being a book I was wowed. I have always felt this way and even thinking calmly about life after death and everything, I ALWAYS get this feeling about a book being closed, the end... Hopefully we can all get to see what chapters you are going to write and experience them with you.
Nice to see I'm not the only one a little conflicted about where to live -vs- making a living. It's been an ongoing theme throughout my life. I envy Casey for having the clarity to move to NYC and become successful doing what he loves. I didn't have that courage when I was his age. Next month I move to Colorado to start a new life and career in filmmaking. Another jump into the abyss!

Talking about leaving NYC years in the future. Leaves NYC years in the future. Comes back to NYC in 2022. Full circle Casey!

DAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNN

I'm so glad I watched this vlog. I have a whole new perspective on things now that you have shared yours. thanks so much for inspiring me for the better. ☺☺
Im so glad to hear that you aren't leaving the city any time soon because I really want to come to the city one of these days and meet you. that would be the best 3 hour drive of my entire life
I used to be chubby too, or wait. I still kind of am haha
What are the two jackets that he wore?
The second you talked about life being a book I was wowed. I have always felt this way and even thinking calmly about life after death and everything, I ALWAYS get this feeling about a book being closed, the end...
Hopefully we can all get to see what chapters you are going to write and experience them with you.
Amazing vlog as always. I love ur vlogs that usually get kinda deep unlike other "vlogers"
Why did you and van stop working together? you dodged that question in that reddit ama
It's 3PM! ..oh wait I live in Switzerland in the middle of nowhere
It's 10am here in Eastern time in New York soo you have to wait hours lol
+GreyCloud oh damn still a lot hours for us people in Europe :'( damn
Vo wellem kanton?
love today's vlog casey
Nice to see I'm not the only one a little conflicted about where to live -vs- making a living. It's been an ongoing theme throughout my life. I envy Casey for having the clarity to move to NYC and become successful doing what he loves. I didn't have that courage when I was his age. Next month I move to Colorado to start a new life and career in filmmaking. Another jump into the abyss!
wow, watching this in 2019, and he's gone from NYC. ):
Haha I was thinking the same thing!
You should consider Toronto Ontario CANADA!!!!
+Jake Carroll yes, i was thinking the same thing, toronto is like nyc, but much cleaner and just more modern/hip buildings. he would love it here :)
+Jake Carroll yes, I second this! :D
This reminded me of Forrest Gump :p
I prefer Vancouver.
Brilliant as always
Always giving us life lessons "I don't believe that liking somethings so much should preclude you from trying something new"
Thank you
I'm pretty sure if Candice doesn't want your daughter in the city... she won't grow up in the city.
