It's a funny situation, but that being said it's kinda weird that everyone milks millions of views off of Magnus and then also add fuel to any of even his smallest controversies😅

I know you had a slight dig at Magnus there and to be honest it's fair game as he did overreact with his tweets, but you have to admit that he's the only one of the super GM's who has the willingness and ability to win this sort of game that you have shown today, yourself included. You made a very valid point about chess sponsorship today, in fact everything you said was fair comment but what you didn't say is that Magnus has also made a massive positive impact on the game by the way he plays which has taken the game from being boring and too many draws to a bit of excitement. End of rant, I do really enjoy your videos and no offense intended as I believe you are a great ambassador for the game as well
I think it's more like the final hit that let to a bit of an outburst, more than the watch it's the fact that he complained about the watch but was not taken away when he knew it was clearly against the rules... Sometimes the smallest things also gives you the biggest ick
Bro what r u talking abt, magnus wouldn’t have won if the other guy played that well your acting like top players always win and never draw lower gms like wtf🤣
So he first places pawns on b2 a3, opposite to bishop. Then again goes b3 a4, same color of bishop. Why not go b3 in the first place, takes away the c4 square.
The endgame after the queentrade is easally winable for white. The active white king will go to the quenside and simply collect the a pawn (potentially also with the help of the knight) and then the 2 past pawns will easily promote
6:19 Nf5+ is actually the winning move here and this is the reason Rf3 is much better than b3. It's a pretty complex line though, which is why the local engine missed it at low depth (and Magnus probably missed it too).
16:31 I love Hikaru for his sincerity although he's been repeating that he's an amateur and he doesn't care about rating over and over again. I mean, it's clear to everybody (included our beloved streamer) that he has reached his peak and he can aspire to the throne (now or never!). Yet, Hikaru will never admit that he's actively pusuing his goal. I think Hikaru has a clear shot to the title...and i wish him my best! That's not only because he would deserve it, also because Magnus would come back to reclaim the title! For those who doesn't remember...Maggie waited until it was clear that neither Gucci or Hikaru won the candidate tournament before tossing the title (it's true...Maggie actually said that during an interview!). Go Hikaru!
@GMHikaru, in Magnus' game after d5 by his opponent, he was winning with Rf3 and if Qe5, there's Nf5!! sacrificing the knight, if black takes, you'll end winning the queen for your rook, in a couple of moves, pretty sick engine line
Strange this way you have to theorize constantly about magnus mental health : in one video you say he is paranoiac, here you talk about his balance... wonder where this need to theorize about one's mental health comes from... some call this gaslighting
Hikaru, Hikaru, when you play chess, you beat your opponents with no stress. Hikaru, Hikaru, you are one to adore, I’ve never ever seen that chess move b4 (before but in chess terms)
I wish he'd just show the game and go into the other possible variations and moves after the game. I feel like he spends way too much time explaining moves that never happened just to stretch the video out as long as possible. I love hearing hikarus breakdowns, as i learn quite a bit from them, I just wish he didn't go so long into explaining the other moves that never happen
