Remake of a 2008 movie. DEI in overdrive for this series. It was made for Disney so that should answer all questions.

Immagine being an actor of colour in this age and not knowing if you have been hired because you are black or because you are good actor/actress.

Well, I sure hope they will at least include all of the great scenes from the book series that weren't in the Nickelodeon Spiderwick movie and that Mulgarath will be as huge and epic in this series as he was in the book series, along with his castle in the junkyard.

It's like they just remaking old good movies just to putting more black people or gay people in. It's sad, if you want to add them into a movie for todays Snow-wokes make new movies and call them something else don't remake old good movies.
I wasn’t expecting so many blatant, hateful and racist comments for a family movie. It’s really very sad. Whether you racists like it or not the world isn’t just white and movies in the 21st century should reflect that. Movies and tv shows based on books take creative liberties all the time. it’s annoying that most of you are hung up on the race of the characters.
The original is only 16 years ago and it looked good enough, no need to do a remake so soon. They could do new movies, new characters, but all they do is a remake and change the skin colour, with that they only get more hate because is obvious they trying to do the same but with black people, and in my opinion is not the right way to do things.
Edit: I just read is not a movie, is TV Serie, Disney cancel it last year and now is going to be in Roku Channel in a couple of weeks 😇

This might be acceptable if it were the first adaptation, but this poor series has already been ruined once, they could have tried harder to compensate for that. The main actor does not look like a kid, definitely not young enough for the story. He also doesn't seem like he can act at all, flat stance/delivery every single time he's shown. Doesn't look like he's got the imagination to be filming a fantasy. Better actors around him aren't going to be enough, this is going to be painful to [attempt to] watch. Another streaming service adaptation that just could have been so much better.
