I worked at Tesla starting in July of 2017 as an Operations Analyst out of the Bethlehem, PA distribution center facility and left as a Program Manager based out of Austin, TX as of September 2021. I spent most of my time in the distribution and supply chain organizations.
Before Tesla, I was a Director of Business Intelligence and Pricing at the largest Pet Food & Supply distributor in the US, Phillips Pet Food & Supplies based out of Easton, PA. My wife and I also owned a small business in Bethlehem, PA between 2016 and 2019.
I have been a shareholder of Tesla since 2012 and currently own Tesla stock. Nothing I say constitutes as investment or financial advice.

Among NVIDIA and their large stable of humanoid robot partners, none have manufacturing experience🤣Tesla will also be best in class for "the machine that builds the Optimus machine." US$20,000 is an ambitiously low price goal at scale. Can envision many city dwellers giving up their car to least an Optimus and using Robotaxis for transport.
Another use case for autonomous software is helping the elderly population with greater mobility and safer driving.

I don’t think that what Elon said then still stands today. I’m still struggling with the idea of Optimus in my place. Example: machine made art vs hand made art, with its imperfections, unique colors or style. Optimus in a factory has more sense, where uniqueness is counterintuitive. Of course that’s just my opinion. 😂

Let's relook at Star Trek. A bunch of humans driving and controlling a Starship. All of those jobs would be done by a computer/AI. Other than the captain. So, there is no need for a massive ship with a massive crew. The whole idea now seems redundant 😢

I'm a little confused. If you replace all the labour based workers, you would create mass unemployment, homelessness, hunger, and a collapse of the economy. If there is a shortage of jobs, you get the great depression again. People without jobs can't be active members of society e.g. consumers/customers buying the output of the robots...

Tesla Autopilot has 'critical safety gap' linked to hundreds of collisions. Federal authorities say a "critical safety gap" in Tesla's Autopilot system contributed to at least 467 collisions,
13 resulting in fatalities.
The findings come from a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration analysis of 956 crashes in which Tesla Autopilot was thought to have been in use.
Tesla's Autopilot design has "led to foreseeable misuse and avoidable crashes," the NHTSA report said.
