Found my E260 for half price on eBay without the stand. I live in Houston which is where their manufacturing plant is located. It took some convincing but I called them up and ended up buying just the stand (which they don't normally sell separate). It's been running for a year so far and I've been super happy with it. One the of the best AIO setups out there.
I used to have a huge 250 gallons tank with a sump and other giant equipment. Going back to a 45-gallon AIO reef tank is the best move in my life. Everything is just so much easier to do.
I appreciate you telling people to wait a month. On the forums I constantly hear people saying oh my cycle is done after 4 days... obviously a false positive. ALWAYS be patient in this hobby.
Thanks this was a great video. Really helped me make a decision on what to buy to get back in to the hobby. Now you guys just need to get this tank back in stock!
Can you do a video on what it looks like to add an external sump to this tank? Would love to have this tank... but with a large refugium. Thanks for the great videos!
Quick tip: NEVER put a tank super close to the wall. When something falls back there, you won't be able to retrieve it if the tank is too close. You also don't just move a tank to get whatever fell.
I’ve had the my tank leak water around the bulkheads, so I couldn’t get it fixed because you have to drain the tank to fix everything. This is not an easy fix in an emergency. I had to spray flex seal from under the tank. Any solutions? I called Red Sea and they just told me to replace the O-rings, but this is not any easy fix because again you have to drain the tank.
I Like the sound of Redsea 170 E AIO But considering it only has a Skimmer and one small bag of carbon and a block of sponge that fits directly over the return pump in that awkward compartment in the corner. I think for me a sump in the cabinet would make more sense. And how often would you have to take that sponge out to clean it. Just a thought.
great video!! i have an older gen red seas tank 34 gallon a friend GAVE me, I'm trying to figure where the floss goes and the air tube location. I've tested the pump with the air pump and it got a separate air pump that came with it because the water/air doesn't work. any info or diagram location would be awesome.
Hi, is the back clear glass? I am thinking of maybe attaching a Innovative Marine Aquafuge to the back, so I am wondering if that is possible for a refugium?
Still can't decide between this and the Reefer 170. I do love all in ones, but not sure about the mechanical filtration as there doesn't seem to be a filter sock.
Hi, I am trouble with this tank. My tank is turning brown in color inspite of reducing the lights. Can you tell me how many hours the lights should be on?
This particular Red Sea tank has an available add-on sump kit. We don't currently stock it, but it's something that you can pick up from Red Sea directly :)
Has anyone used the Hydra settings recommended in this video? How high are your lights from the surface? @BRS do you still recommend these settings? I have a red sea reefer 250.
We recommend running lights at 8 hours on main intensity. You can also ramp up, and down if you wanted. We would keep these at lower intensity to avoid algae issues.
Thats what i hear... I had a buddy who had one but changed over to a reg glass tank... but had all his plumbing and stuff in the basement just drilled holes into the basement.. this way it's somewhat quiet topside in the living room. I do love the AIO though..
Awesome video as usual 😁 love your detailed information. I have had a lot problem with my corals due to overexposed light. But now i have a guideline. Can i ask how long this setting should be? Ramptime? Cheers from Sweden :)
Okey, thanks for fast reply. I really appreciate this test. If i look at Coral labs Ecotech PDF for LPS, so is this low setting on the Hydra close to theirs? Best RUclips channel! Happy reefing guys! :)
if you watch their other videos they talk about ramp and time. I learned from them that ramp up and down is nothing more than extending your viewing of the tank, it has no effect on your coral or fish. Time is dependant on how much algae you want to deal with. Myself personally I run their values for 7.5 hours per day.
I've seen this so many times now lol just because it's a red sea tank doesn't mean you have to follow it on with red sea salt haha and why use Dr Tim's? When you could use ATM COLONY? That's by far the best product on the market to cycle a tank I love this setup tho very nice indeed 👌
It would definitely help with evaporation, but glass or acrylic lids are difficult to keep clean and can block light. Since we'll run an ATO system anyway, we usually don't worry much about evaporation.
We have quite a few different sizes available ranging in price. Check them all out at the link below. www.bulkreefsupply.com/sumps-tanks-refugiums/tanks/red-sea-complete-aquariums.html
I guess it’s easy for someone who has done this before. I can’t find any instructional videos besides this one, and I’m absolutely clueless as to how some of these steps are taken with the pump. The actual directions are not newbie friendly. I was hoping for a “plug and play” and got a “take 3 days and still isn’t together”
Tony's reef keeping I sometimes get the impression they can't be bothered to do a build that's in the price range of folks who can't afford to spend several thousand dollars
I like this but why do they have to shove the lights down our throats? I bought a Reefer 170 a while ago but wife now wants it gone because the top of container and all the cables from the Apex are in a cabinet next to it i.e a mess. This seems perfect, you can hide everything underneath. BUT. I have the lights already and I don't want to get new ones... is that too much to ask?
Love BRSTV but gotta disagree with this video. AOI tanks are not that maintenance free and successful. That or I’m doing something seriously wrong here. I have the older version of this tank it’s real similar, mine is a Red Sea max 130d (AOI) I do a 10% water change with rodi water (mix my own saltwater using I.O. Salt mix or Nutriwater, yes mix or aerate for 24-48 hours match temp salinity etc etc., chronically low PH I’ve stopped chasing it I’ve done very upgrade possible to this tank except for adding reactors removed hood and T5 lighting replaced with one AI Hydra 26 HD mounted with an AI hydra bracket which is not a secure mount for this set up (just FYI) a dyi net cover, removed stock skimmer replaced with Tunze 9001 (which I do not care for), added an Intank media basket, upgraded recirculation pump from Red Sea, added an Aqua Duetto ATO, jeabo nano wavemaker. Tried the HOB fuge thing and that was the start of all my algae problems so got rid of it. Tank will be two years up and running this October and first year did great then crashed lost $700 in corals. I’ve really struggled with mastering the chemistry I.e. alk, CA and MG it’s not possible! I’m seriously on the fence with if I continue to dump countless hours of my time doing research online just to never get one straight answer , tank maintenance and money spent on livestock to die quickly or just give up take my losses and sell my setup.

It would be great to see a "how to" on converting this tank to add a sump below. Could that a be a future video? I'd like to learn how to do it.
I’m a noob, what does a sump do? Hide all the pumps and filtration in The cabinet?
Adam Shaw No. It’s added water volume to help control and add larger, better equipment and helps filter the tank with less issues.

hi im thinking to buy red say e 260 or reefer 250 witch sump and just dunno what is beter
I appreciate you telling people to wait a month. On the forums I constantly hear people saying oh my cycle is done after 4 days... obviously a false positive. ALWAYS be patient in this hobby.
taylor eke there is ways to do it within 4 days using turbostart
A complete cycle within 4 days is very possible
Thanks this was a great video. Really helped me make a decision on what to buy to get back in to the hobby. Now you guys just need to get this tank back in stock!
This video is misleading trust me I know firsthand.
@@jennychurchill8953 How so Jenny? I'd be curious to know .
Just seen this is it recommended to do water changes during the cycle or leave it
After a few weeks of researching and asking for opinions, I decided to pay the few extra buxs for this system
How are you liking it? Any regret?
Can you do a video on what it looks like to add an external sump to this tank? Would love to have this tank... but with a large refugium. Thanks for the great videos!
Would the stock lighting be enough to do a mixed reef w some SPS? Or would you recommend adding another AI Hydra?
Excellent video. Thank you
Great video!! This might just be my next tank. 👍🏽😊
Hello Randy
my tank was so darty and coral growth and but not see this aqurium beautiful plz suggestion your tank setting plz
Now video plz provide you and my tank seeting now
Whata tank! The perfect setup..... thanks for the video.

Damn good point!
Maybe slide something back there - such as wool dusting stick - to prevent things from falling too far in the first place.
Forrest Giffin stared selling fish stuff ... damn bro way to do what you love
😆
Good God those tanks are pricey but can't beat those looks and the fact it's a one in done kit
Aint no lie there.. one of the shops not too far away from me sell the heck out of these... they always have at least 2 or 3 of them on the floor..
Hi Randy nice to meet ya

Better than 2G XL???
does it come with an ato
What’s the skimmer like?
What do you suggest for flow in addition to the return pump with a mixed reef, including SPS? Thanks!

The one with the 2 sets of tube lights? I'm picking one of those up on Monday, found one for $350 and at that price I can't say no for a first tank.

RustyDog same what did you end up going with
Hi, I am trouble with this tank. My tank is turning brown in color inspite of reducing the lights. Can you tell me how many hours the lights should be on?
Can you get this tank with with the filtration underneath in the cabinet ?
Hello I would like to know which rocks you use in the video.
This would be my first tank. What kind of fish would be appropriate for this size tank? Thank you!
What sump and refugium is the one you recommend for this Fishtank?
This particular Red Sea tank has an available add-on sump kit. We don't currently stock it, but it's something that you can pick up from Red Sea directly :)
Does anyone know the proper level for the back section of the tank?
Great video
Are these still being made?
Has anyone used the Hydra settings recommended in this video? How high are your lights from the surface? @BRS do you still recommend these settings? I have a red sea reefer 250.
Check out our Hydra video from last week. Those are our official "BRS Recommended" settings :)
I’m just wondering a bit more detail on lighting schedule. How long to run the lights?
We recommend running lights at 8 hours on main intensity. You can also ramp up, and down if you wanted. We would keep these at lower intensity to avoid algae issues.
AIO tanks are the best. period.
Thats what i hear... I had a buddy who had one but changed over to a reg glass tank... but had all his plumbing and stuff in the basement just drilled holes into the basement.. this way it's somewhat quiet topside in the living room.
I do love the AIO though..
Ugh I cant decide if I want this or the Waterbox AIO.
Waterbox
is this truly complete? skimmer, pump etc. comes with this system for that price?
You are correct 🙂
Could I get a Red Sea power outlet on a tank that’s not Red Sea?
Awesome video as usual 😁 love your detailed information.

I would assume these are just recommendations...
Zachary Roy and i also assume it's my "opinion" 👍
Why no cover? wouldn’t that help a lot with evaporation.
It would definitely help with evaporation, but glass or acrylic lids are difficult to keep clean and can block light. Since we'll run an ATO system anyway, we usually don't worry much about evaporation.
Can I get a heart like last video?
@BulkReefSuppplycom yay Am I your favorite reefer? I buy every thing from yall
Just be ready to deal with it.
How much is this

You guys make some great videos but the fact that within a week you released two "how to's" on AIO Red Sea tanks feels kinda sell-out ish.
Just wanted to give you some honest feedback.
Too fast not helpful at all.
Which recirculating pump works with this tank? I bought a shed one and need a replacement
