When I found your rendition I sent it with this note: The thing I loved when you played this was how much feeling you gave it. Some of the renditions I listened to, it’s as if they’re thinking, “Oh, it’s a toccata. An athletic achievement type of thing. Let’s be all manly about it.” Then they bang it out like a machine. I chose this version because the running time was almost a minute longer. And I’m sending it to you because it has swells and dips, just like you did it. These are some fond memories for me.
