If your iPhone 6S / 6S Plus is stuck in headphone or headset mode it is an easy fix. This can happen it dust or lint is accumulated inside the jack, if you dropped your phone, got sand or salt in the port, or even if you phone got wet because water can corrode the pins inside your heaphone jack.

Hey to anyone that this did not work for! This did not work for me!!! But what did what was that I went into settings>general>Accessibility>Mono Audio. I switched this on and then press play on my music.nothing, I closed my apps open my music app and it started playing.

None of the many methods on RUclips had fixed my problem but I finally found a solution! Put your iPhone or iPad on Airplane Mode for a few minutes and play around with the volume. Then, turn Airplane Mode off and wellah! The volume is fixed! (Please be warned that this may not work for everyone, so please, no hate towards my comment, I hope it works for you like it did for me!😊)

THANK YOU for posting this video! I am a busy mom and dropped my phone in the toilet and was super stressed about spending lots of money for a new one. I used the end of an umbrella toothpick (coated with tape) and it worked (same idea).

Qtip worked! I almost gave up because it wasn't.. I got so much water in there that I shook some out too. Doing it repeatedly and messing with the buttons really does work! Thank you so much
For all of you that still need help:
Take a paperclip and bend it so you have a long rod. Insert the long rod into the jack all the way to the bottom. Go around the outside slowly a few times then take the paperclip out and use a light to look inside to see of it dislodged any material. If theres nothing in there try out the volume buttons, worked for me the first time.

When i plug in any headphones that work from both sides it only gives me sound from the left and its the first time this happens
None of these worked for me but what did was a COMPRESSED AIR can with the tube shoved directly up the headphone jack for 10-20 secs straight. All works great now! Up-vote either way on the great video and trouble shooting!
If your headphones is for the charger port and your phone is stuck on headphones then just charge your phone and go to RUclips. It will give sound without a headphone! Your welcome guys! But if this does not work, then I am really sorry. But this worked for me!

I spilled some water on the floor and my 6S out of all places fell right
in it.It was only in it for like 3 secs and it caused my phone to get
stuck in headphone mode. I did a combination of what is shown in the
video with the q-tip or pulling a just a little bit off a cotton ball
and inserting it in the jack and moving it around, blowing compressed
air, resetting the phone like 3 times, sticking some headphones in and
out about 10 times. Eventually it worked. It took about 20 min, but it
will work. Don't freak it...give it some time.
Instructions were not clear, my iPhone is now an android....

Don't stop trying ! I thought it was over for my iPhone, I tried rebooting and the q tip about 3-5 times each and it was working. Then when I quit & started text to someone "I fucking give up nothing's working" I heard my keyboard sound hahah !

Q tip didn't work what I did was go to snap chat took a video and it played on my headphone disconnected them. Recorded again n I could hear it went home n changed the volume & it works but the q tip trick has worked before

Well. I used the Q-tip method, with a little Deox-It sprayed on the tip, and when I scrubbed the left side of the port (pretty hard), it finally started working!
Compressed air, SIM card cleaning, soft reset, pen filler end, paperclip digging ALL FAILED.
Thanks for your advice. I don't know what caused it, but it is fixed now.

Ok guys no video suggestions worked but I ended up getting a tooth pick and picking in the headphone jack and charging input and it started working INSTANTLY!!! Some fuzz came out and I think that’s what was stopping it from being in the regular sounds mode. I swear it works idk how but I hope that helps anyone!!! Good luck guys!!!!
Well all u need to do is have some patience of 10 min..! In one go... putting the Q-tip in and out wont help.... u have to put in and out atleast 20-30 times.... nd even take a sharp object like paper clip tip... put it inside .. trust me there is lots of dirt stuck inside.. just clear that..nd put ur volume button up and down respectively... it works..👍🏻 as it worked for me as well

I just have to say is "awesome", i just dropped my phone in the toilet and it is acting really funny, no sound coming from it at all I sat it by the air conditioner all night and now it has been sitting on the dash in my car to try and dry it up as best as I can, it was still acting up, but this q-tip thing did the trick it is working just fine now so thank you :)

this is how I got it to work. First I did the ring tones and it worked but then stopped so then ask two people to call you one at a time and hit speaker and no speaker with each call. And then ask them to FaceTime you and take out you’re headphones if you had them in and it should work

What I did to fix mine since none of these options worked was to put my iPhone into DFU mode then taking it out of DFU mode. No need to restore or anything.
