Hi Ants I do not understand: Do you will build ONLY a huge carport for your Bobcat, Tractor, … AND / OR also a huge storage building for your fire-wood? How ever i have 3 Tipps you should think about: 1. Tipp for Carport: Make it high enough. So that you will not have problem in future if ever you will have bigger (higher) working machine. 2. Tipp for Wood-storage: I would plan 2 doors. So from 1 door you put the wood IN and from oposit door you take the wood OUT. So your „old“ (dry) wood is allways ready to get. And the „New“ (wet) wood you move in from oposit side. So it has time to get dry. Get what i mean? 😁 Like that it will make your work much easyer. 3. Replant trees: What about if you replant Douglasie tree. It‘s a tree from Canada and it grows much faster, then trees you have in your area.

Great video my good friend!! I LOVE watching that old tractor and excavator work, im excited to see some maintenance videos also. I wish I was there to help you fix the bobcat!! I know you can figure it out and if you need any help with it I’ll help in anyway I can. Stay safe buddy take care
Your right mate, it's most likely something easy that you could fix by just looking at the problem :D I will do a deepdive into it once i reach the bobcat on the maintenance front.

After that grand slam spruce combination triplet timber you were bound to get a grand loose consecutive triplet birch fail. But the grand slam was surle sweet as long as it lasted.
i think there are relays on your bobcat switches ....and alder sounds like its just like poplar from canada......poplar doesn't like the sun either it yellows really quick ...it cuts really easy ...usually doesn't need limbed by the time it falls but its a lot heavier then spruce fir or even birch ...we have Balm of Gilead here too ..we hide that in the pile when we want the weight to go up for poplar when it pays by the ton
@@Ants_Pants i think its a little bit of both ..the balm of gilead will soak you as if you standing under a tap when you just start into it with the saw in the summer ..boots always wet lol ..if it has sat for a couple years you can also burn it for firewood but won't last like maple ,beach or yellow birch
One thing you could make may be an iron/steel nose piece for the log that is like a sledge. When you drag the tree it would ride and push against the sledge nose piece.
Finally friday and a new video from you😊 it is a highlight of the week. And maybe the comment will help the algorithm from RUclips. You should have more subscribers then you have😊 but you will get there.
Thank you for sharing. Glad you understand about the barber chair. If you are having trouble with your directional felling, once you have your knotch completed, stand where you want the tree to fall and look back at the notch. Is it perpendicular to where the should fall? If not, make adjustments so it is.
When you were looking at that hill and asking if the T40 would climb it I got reminded of the time our T25 had to climb a 45 degree angle hill out of a ditch with 2,5 tons of wood in it. 2WD mud and all still somehow made it and it continued to do so for 5 more times!
Pretty interesting to just try to drag the tree behind the tractor. We always hooked the trees up to the 3-point hitch of the tractor and slightly lifted them. This gives more weight and traction to the tractor, and less dragging surface for the tree on the soil. But i guess your little blue monster can't lift enough on the 3-point hitch for that to work? Our little 50hp Fiat was able to lift around 1.6 tons.
Ant, that pile of “too hard/big to cut” logs had me thinking. Why not use your chainsaw to cut nice slabs across the logs?. You could open up yet another side business of making beautiful natural slab side tables, benches, etc, out of those slabs. In your free time, of course! Just something to consider as a sideline to make some cash out of all that beautiful wood. Cheers as always from Australia. 👏🏻🇦🇺🦘
Libby iv looked into it, for that i would need to buy a chainsaw that has enough horsepower to plow a field :D very expensive. However i will look into maybe widening my bandsaw mill abit

i think there are relays on your bobcat switches ....and alder sounds like its just like poplar from canada......poplar doesn't like the sun either it yellows really quick ...it cuts really easy ...usually doesn't need limbed by the time it falls but its a lot heavier then spruce fir or even birch ...we have Balm of Gilead here too ..we hide that in the pile when we want the weight to go up for poplar when it pays by the ton
Heaviness due to water or density?
@@Ants_Pants i think its a little bit of both ..the balm of gilead will soak you as if you standing under a tap when you just start into it with the saw in the summer ..boots always wet lol ..if it has sat for a couple years you can also burn it for firewood but won't last like maple ,beach or yellow birch
Hard, but good work, love you as a strong man!
Strong! far from it i'm weak lol
Possibly the auxiliary hydraulics function is not working because of something simple, like a burned out fuse (which would also be simple to check).
Not on my bobcat though. Some1 has completely reengineered the fuse box. Now fuses are scattered all over the place
3 at once? You Da MAN
got lucky !
One thing you could make may be an iron/steel nose piece for the log that is like a sledge. When you drag the tree it would ride and push against the sledge nose piece.
That would be great, but i rarely need these bigger logs so i haven't done so yet
Those who can’t, watch those who do…Man you are a machine…and funny as well! Hope you get 1,000,000 subs.
I appreciate that!
@@Ants_Pants I’m in Canada, Northern Ontario. Similar climate. Dissimilar motivation for all that work. Love your stuff!
Finally friday and a new video from you😊 it is a highlight of the week. And maybe the comment will help the algorithm from RUclips. You should have more subscribers then you have😊 but you will get there.
You're the best! Thanks for the support. Maybe one day we get there :)
Thank you for sharing. Glad you understand about the barber chair. If you are having trouble with your directional felling, once you have your knotch completed, stand where you want the tree to fall and look back at the notch. Is it perpendicular to where the should fall? If not, make adjustments so it is.
Thanks for the tips Alex
When you were looking at that hill and asking if the T40 would climb it I got reminded of the time our T25 had to climb a 45 degree angle hill out of a ditch with 2,5 tons of wood in it. 2WD mud and all still somehow made it and it continued to do so for 5 more times!
T25 is a great little tractor
@@Ants_Pants Soviet finest
the bottoms are for a 6 way blade or a backhoe
Pretty interesting to just try to drag the tree behind the tractor. We always hooked the trees up to the 3-point hitch of the tractor and slightly lifted them. This gives more weight and traction to the tractor, and less dragging surface for the tree on the soil. But i guess your little blue monster can't lift enough on the 3-point hitch for that to work? Our little 50hp Fiat was able to lift around 1.6 tons.
Max it can do on rear end is about 700kg
As always a hard working video 😊 Can't wait to see the next video and good idea to sale firewood😁 Have a great wknd ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks Barb! glad to see you again
Hi ants, i can see you building a Log Arch Hitch for towing those longer logs with some ease.
nah man i will just use my dozer next time :D need more HP!
@@Ants_Pants dozer will have trouble with the ice though
@@fredscheerle7592 there are ways to fix that
Where the hell do you get your soundtracks? Few beers in I start blasting every time you play your soundtrack music.
lol i get all the soundtracks for youtube audio library, you and everyone who has a google account can download them for free in the studio.
Of course its worth it man nice & warm are yeah lol
haha yes
You should have put one of those sleds for logging on the front end of the logs. Right?
Yes, but this seemed more fun :D
You should get a skidding cone for dragging those bigger logs. It should make it much easier to move them around.
i should get a bigger tractor so i can drag multiplie logs @ once 😂
Way to go can’t wait for the future projects it will be a gas
Me too! but first gotta wrap up the cabin! i hate loose ends
I knew you would get the soviet chair in there somewhere
Served a very valid purpose
Yep, now we have to see it in every video! 👌
TRIMBER! 😁
😂
I love your videos, man. I always wait for them on Fridays. I lol'd at 56:10 xD
lol 😂
