I thought the same the first time I saw people cranking it to 10, the settings I've seen most the artist I like is bass at 0 and then everything at 10 with the channels jumped.
Hey Max, just wanted to say that you are a good teacher for people trying to learn how to dial in the Helix. There are other guys pumping out videos that go way too fast when they explain the settings. It's like they are annoyed that they have to make a video and are rushing through it. Good job man!
GREAT video!!! Killer tones. Just one small bit of constructive criticism, please run a de-esser over your voiceover track. I listen with some bright beyerdynamic DT770's, and it is quite painful to listen to! All that aside, please keep up the content, i am incredibly impressed at how well the HX nails the "air" and tube compression you get from the real Marshalls
I like your videos really well, maybe you could make a video on how to set up a looper with the HX stomp and record it or just can not get it done. Absolutely beginner with these hx devices, but there is not a video on RUclips .
Hi. Once again, great work. I tried it with my SG Standard and Classic 57's on my Helix LT. The idea of the double Cab is excellent and for my part, I think it sounds better than with IR but that's just my opinion. The settings for Bass and Treble work very well. The effect of microphone distance is subjective but has its effect. For AC/DC, pot volume at 8 and there's just what you need. Thank you again
Hey Max! How about doing a shoot out for best Marshall emulation - HX Stomp. Vs S-Gear. I’m a big fan of both S-Gear and HX Stomp but would love to know your perspective on the two. 🤘🏻🕶✌🏻
Hey thanks for the vid! What are the advantages of using the computer software for making patches over just simply dialing in from the Stomp. I see everyone using it but I just do it from the hardware lately
It sounds thick and so much gainy. There is no rich low-ended plexi tone with all his harmonics. Plexi-is about dynamics, it’s about great range of gain and level with only level of your right hand attack. Not just gain!
I dialed in the same exact tone on my hx stomp straight into headphones and it sounds different. It would be great if I could get some suggestions on how to get my tone to sound more like the one in the video. Thanks!
@@MaxCarton i did exactly what you did but in front of Blackstar ht20 amp in clean channel- it is sounds completely different, zero correlation. strange
@@pavelyudashkin9731 That's to be expected. This is a straight to the desk sound. You're doing it wrong. If you're going in front of a clean amp you can't use cabinet simulation and I wouldn't suggest amp simulation either. Just use a distortion pedal in the HX.
@@MaxCarton Thx bro, so from your point of view - any amp simulation can't be used and useless when stompbox connected as a pedal on a pedalboard? Because doesn't matter what I use - even cancel cabinets, everything- i got a completely shitty sound, nothing sounds like yours sound in video
You could use an amp model if you run your hx stomp straight into the FX RETURN of your amp. But never a cab model into an amp since you already have a cabinet (and power amp) voicing the whole sound. Using an amp and cab somulation in front of a clean amp is like running a 4K picture on an old 60s TV and expecting it to look like it will on a 5K monitor.

DUDEEE this is the best tutorial BY FAR this tone is incredible! And i never would’ve expected Bass and Treble at 0 and mids and pres at 10! GENIUS
I thought the same the first time I saw people cranking it to 10, the settings I've seen most the artist I like is bass at 0 and then everything at 10 with the channels jumped.
You really did a great job here. very inspiring to see how close you got to that classic sound on the helix! Few have come close imo.
Absolute game changer - I can now get great Marshall tones out of my HX Stomp! Thanks for sharing this 🙏
Glad I could help!
Love your HX Stomp videos! You're getting great tones out of it
Thanks Jake! Feel free to share them, I can use all the support! Cheers!

Thanks man! Should be making some more videos, but life has been busy atm. Always great to hear from people that enjoy the vids like you!
Dear Max, although I may be a little late, thank you very much for this excellent video!! Really great!!
Thanks for this! Just got an HX Stomp and this was super helpful
This is a great tutorial! This is what RUclips all about. Thanks!
Nice job Max!
No problem John! Glad you dig it!
Always great, Max! Thanks for sharing 🤘🏻
Thanks for watching!!!
I have a mesa boogie Mark V. I put the gain channel with Bass on 0 too. It's not THAT weird. ;)

Good point! I am trying to work out a better mic situation!

what king of pickups are onboard? Very nice demo!

Always use what you like! If the cabs sound better, please go ahead and use them! Cheers dude! Thanks so much for watching!
Hi, where can I buy the exact IRS you use? Thank you
good stuff man!
Thanks man!

Also good to see more subscribers to your channel. Keep up the great work! 👌🏻
I don't know the S-gear stuff, but I'll check it out for sure! And thanks for the kind words!!
Max Carton Guitar cool baby! I think you’ll dig the Marshall amp on S-Gear. Sounds great! You can get a free trial and take it for a test drive.

You can dial in faster by typing the numbers, so my videos don't take as long and I don't have to setup a camera 😂
This case I liked Stocks Cabs more than Irs !!
Great! Comparing to Real Amp + Torpedo Live, what do you think about?
Sounds very close! Look at my 'can hx stomp sound like a real plexi' video and you'll know exactly what I mean!
Sounds like the beginning of Premier Guitar Rig Rundown. Useful tone. I’ll give it a try.
Thanks man! Glad you liked the tone! 😁
What is that IR!? Download link? Thanks
That's a link to get the cab sounds I use.

Check the input impedance and high cut of the IR/cabinet.
did you connected it to sound card or Amp input?
I use the usb audio from HX STOMP in this video I think.

Vultura Music Production Studio fuck off
Best is subjective.
