- Join us as we take our first steps towards the Arctic Ocean from our home in Oregon! In this episode, our journey begins by travelling through B.C. and the Yukon Territory. We get to see some amazing views, beautiful wildlife, and experience the Gold Rush town of Dawson City, where we brave the Sourtoe Cocktail! These are only our first steps in a journey that will take us from the bottom of the Kenai Peninsula, to the top of the world, in the Arctic Ocean waters of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, north of the industrial town of Deadhorse. I invite you to come along for the ride, and don't forget to subscribe, because there is so much more to come!

Nice! Looking forward to more of the adventure!
Thank you, Donald!
This was absolutely awesome to watch. Love the narration!! Can’t wait to watch the remaining episodes. Really well done! That ‘To Build a Fire’ piece was so awesome! 👊🏼👊🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks, man, appreciate it! Really enjoy your stuff!
❤What a great documentary of the start of your trip 😮 I look forward to the rest of the videos of this trip😊. Well done.🎉
Thank you!
We are from Alaska and feel it was very well done
Definitely appreciate that! ❤️
Awesome video! Love the sour toe club!
It was a lot of fun!
@2:17 that’s what I’ll do to my front bumper too! Thank you for the idea!
You bet!
Can't wait to get up that way! There is a lifetime of exploration in BC and Alaska.
For sure!
Great first episode! The tooeeeee 😂
It was so shiny 😄
So much wildlife, and this is only the first episode! I can't believe you drank the sour toe 🤣. Great video, looking forward to the next!
Thank you! The wildlife was amazing! Definitely made up for how fast we had to go through Canada. The sour toe isn't bad if you don't think about 😛
Love your vlog. Stay safe.. Much love from Bali 🙏
Thank you!!
Great video! Looking forward to the series…done that trip a few times..but it’s been many years.
Thank you! We'll be back for sure!
What an awesome first episode. Meagan can not wait to have a sour toe whisky😂😂😂🤮
It's worth the 2.5 day drive 😄
After all the IG posts from up North, I was wondering when a video might show up. Looks like y'all had a great experience up on the top of the world.
We sure did!
Awesome! This is an absolute bucket list trip for me. Looking forward to more!
Thank you! Definitely make it happen!
Hey! my wife and I are planning our trip from Utah up to the Arctic in Alaska. Could I possibly have access to your Gaia maps route or something similar to so that I could have some ideas on safer travel? if not, no worries! awesome video! gets me excited to go! You got a sub from us either way! :)
Thank you! This should be a publicly viewable url: caltopo.com/m/6UKQR We basically stuck to the main routes through Canada: Alcan Hwy through BC, then took the Klondike Hwy up to Dawson, and the way South, we took the Alcan from the border, and then the Cassiar Hwy back through BC to Prince George. Alaska was mostly main routes as well, with just a couple offshoots.
I’m starting the plan for a trip in 2025. Can you share the Google Sheet we briefly glimpse around 3:00 in?
It's fairly specific to our planning, but the format might help you. If nothing else, you can probably see how my brain works!
This link should work to view:
docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Z6rjNHMVYd_E4vvsKPp1v6F9C6TrtsUL/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=117792651730153215124&rtpof=true&sd=true
Keep in mind this was mostly pre-planning and a guide on the road, the first tab doesn't necessarily represent locations and times that actually happened. The fuel and mileage calculations on the second tab are accurate.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks a bunch. Having a plan to start with and throw away is a great start!😊
You missed so much by driving so many hours. I’ve driven it.
Absolutely. Tthere are always compromises with time. We hit the high points we wanted to hit this time, and make no mistake, we will be going back! There's a lifetime of things to see up there, and there's only souch PTO available 😄
As soon as it becomes a wannabe Nat Geo film series, I check out. Just car camp and record it. Why does everyone think they are some major motion picture narrator?
You do you, I'll do me. Bye, Felicia ❤️
@OverlandAdventureTimes haha best response ever, people don't realize what goes into editing and filmmaking/storytelling. Without narration these types of videos just don't work. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! I don't think he realizes how little we camped in this episode. Pull off on the side of the road, crawl in the back of the truck, get up before 5am, rinse, repeat 😂 Real engaging viewing experience 😂 We hadn't even really cooked anything yet, either!
