I dont know how these people hate these cookware but i love them so much i have a lot of pieces and i use them daily! I switch Visions pieces every now and then but basically it’s those and my stainless pans. I find them easier to cook just like stainless pans.
Nice to see this video done after I brought it up! From what I've read, it takes a lot more energy to heat up liquids than it does to heat up metal. So the small difference is understandable. But sometimes even a difference that minimal can be the difference of how a delicate sauce can come out.
@@Greatdome99 No one is boiling 4 quarts worth of metal on their stove top. Heat up a 5 quart pot empty on the stove top and heat up a 5 quart pot filled with 4 quarts of water, which do you think is going to reach 212F faster? I could've worded my last comment better, but I'm talking specifically about cookware and not metal in general.
Nice collection! I agree, corningware vision cookware is absolutely beautiful, and I love the amber glass. I thrifted my first two cookware pieces this spring and always keep my eyes out at secondhand stores and yard sales. I don't own any of their sauce pans as of yet, but would certainly love to! Even though I am happy with the performance of my Kitchenaid ones, I would love to try corningware vision and admire their beauty! 😍
I’m curious if you use the white CW saucepans more often than the equivalent Visions pans? Even though they’re made of the same material, I find white Pyroceram takes just a tad longer to heat up than transparent and it also maybe heats a little more unevenly.
I use both CW and V about the same but for some reason prefer the white aesthetically? More uneven is very interesting! I almost always use heat discs, but that would be an interesting test!
Great video! I too love Visions, but I don't use it anymore. We have the same stove, and it takes me a lot longer to get food ready because I only use lower heat with the Visions. I dread the sticking and subsequent clean-up. Also, I'm afraid my roommate will break it. Thanks for the test!
Fear of roommy breaky bad :) The saucepan did have some soup residue I had to clean with Bon Ami. Not bad, but not as easy as stainless. Still they're beauties!
I just brought my first piece of Visions cookware, a 10-inch amber skillet for $7.50. I love colored glass and being able to cook on colored glass is too cool to not try.
@xetaprime I went back in the evening the same day as posting my previous comment and I was able to buy a 2.5L Pot for $8.50. My sister made a pot roast in it tonight.
I have a Visions 5½ quart Dutch Oven with the Teflon coated bottom. It's great. The Teflon is still in great shape because I don't really use it that often. In fact I'm much less likely to use it now days - knowing what we know now about PTFE and the rest. In the end it would have been better without the coating. It's a shame really. The non-stick coating looks like a horrible after thought. Can I also say how much I miss cooking on an electric range with those coiled elements? I have a glass cooktop now and it was the biggest mistake purchase that I ever made. I hate the glass cooktop.
Yeah, big trade-off with nonstick. I own just a couple but do use them. My Father had a glass-top and the heating element would never keep the heat at the same temp. It was infuriating!
@@ViolenziaDomesticathat’s mostly people confusing brown Pyrex for Visions… or physically damaging a pot and continuing to use it. Pyroceram cookware doesn’t just randomly explode. It’s been sold under various brands for 65+ years without issue.
Visions cookware is awful on the stove top. Awful. And unnecessary. But for the microwave, it's perfect. In the oven, just fine. But not on the stove top. No, no, no. Never.
I disagree emphatically. I wish I could trade in my stupid glass cooktop for that style of electric range. The coils heat quickly, can be removed for easy cleaning and easy replacement. My glass cooktop scratches easily and needs constant cleaning to prevent carbon build up around the heating zones. The old heating elements were what I grew up with and they are awesome.
@danielcarter491 Wait you can replace the coils 😭 Idk why I never thought of that. One of mine goes straight to high and won't do low or medium at all.

Hi ! Those are beautiful visions cookware !! Love corningware casserole dishes!
I Know!!!! I'm sad that Corning is another one of THE GREAT companies swallowed up by history :(
I love mine!! I’ve got quite a few pieces!! Nice video Xeta!! Thanks for posting!!!
Evening Rick! Among your cookware pieces, which are your favorites? Inquiring minds? Have I asked that already? I know you have the Guardian pieces...

Delicate sauce? AH HA! HA! HA!!!!!! But seriously, very true :)
No. Metal is more dense, so it will take longer to heat up.

They really are amazing! And I've never had any issues with breaking. Early on I did some heat tests that put any fears I had to rest.
lol.. beautiful? Get your eyes checked.
Copper cookware is beautiful. Sometimes stainless steel can even be nice to look at (I would never call it beautiful though.)

谢谢 :)
Hey did you ever season the pan you draino . Y use my sauce pans every day. Your Chanel is great thank you
Thank you hernandez :) I did. I don't use it very often but It's kept the seasoning.
The eggs sticking and clean up makes mine sit on the shelf
I hear ya. If you keep trying there will be a moment when they don't stick. You won't know what you did different. Or, (cough) use PAM ;)

I haven't collected any. I just prefer the amber color.
