Some might think that the Hollywood of today is fairly wild, but it shockingly was just as crazy back during it's so-called Golden Age. It was an era of cougars and seductresses. Female film stars did whatever they wanted with whoever they wanted and their male counterparts of show business followed suit. It was almost like everyone was going at it back then.
Marriage was just a piece of paper. It didn't even matter if stars were married or not. Infidelity ran rampant and divorces were everyday happenings. That's not to say that cheating is a very classy move. Some of the most iconic stars of the day such as Elizabeth Taylor and Vivien Leigh received quite a bit of flack for cheating on their spouses. Taylor's infamous affair with Richard Burton even inspired the Vatican of all people to issue a formal statement condemning the illicit union.
Stars were getting it on so often and with so many partners that it was hard for them to keep track of all of their intimate liaisons. In this video, we'll be taking a look at some classic Hollywood stars who slept with too many people to count. That's a difficult point to make considering how influential she was. Despite a brief career she had huge impact and is still remembered by many today.
Alice Cooper had a great story about Mae West. While filming the movie Sextette she made a pass at him which he declined. He had either recently gotten married or was dating his soon to be wife. He mentioned this to Ringo Starr who said she also made a pass at him which he declined. Another actor mentioned she hit on him and he declined. They asked Keith Moon if she hit on him and he said she did but wouldn't say if he declined. They pressed and he said "well...it was Mae West."

What THIS guy failed to note in this video is that they "got it on" with all these different people, not because they were super-horny or because they were attracted to all of them, but because they HAD TO in order to GET ROLES and GAIN STATUS (stated out with them shaging the bigwig executives, producers, publicists, directors, and possibly even the actors who were already top stars) and THEN doing it so they could STAY there.
I worked for Miss West from 1977 till her death. Frequently to intersede between she and her needy sister, Beverly. One day we got Miss West ready for an evening with a date with Ed Fury. Paul (Charles) was no where to be found for a few days. She had 'wings' from the 1930s that were like the gum on envelopes, stuck her skin and pulled back for a face lift, the elastic hidden by hair and wigs. We got rushed out of her apartment and didn't get to see Fury arrive. Early in the morning when we retired Miss West was lopsided, wigs having off to the side of her head, lipstick was now face stick and the elastic hanging from the 'wings' stickers. She was in her robe. Whatever happened that night she was in heaven and glowing. Mind you, she was in her 80s at the time.

Good question I don’t think it either disgusted or intrigued me but I certainly wasn’t aware of that when I first met them and it was only later, after we’d split, that I became aware of it when I saw how they acted. I think both of them were probably searching for something that was missing in their lives or simply enjoyed the hit and excitement that a new relationship would initially give them and just enjoyed sex, especially as being very attractive it would be easy to get. I’m pretty sure both of them had had atleast 30 partners before being 30.

I think it's sad because think of all the amazing talent that should have been famous and gotten the parts, but we never got to know them because they had morals and the gals refused to sleep their way to the top. Instead we got these loose gals who didn't earn the part on merit and talent. Mostly just on their ability to spread their legs.

About all of the people mentioned in this video had mental illness issues, as well as substance abuse/alcohol issues. Promiscuity and addiction are co-existing behaviors in most mental illnesses. When you spend your life pretending to be somebody else, what could one expect?

In Elizabeth Taylor’s defense, her husband Mike Todd had just died in a plane crash. Her husband’s best friend Eddie Fisher took it upon himself to be of in-person support. Taylor’s emotions and judgement were understandably in turmoil.
IMO, Vivian Leigh should be given some slack and plenty of compassion. After many years of volatility, Leigh was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. There was little if any treatment at the time. Turbulent relationships and promiscuity are common among those with BPD.

In my childhood, I would pick up the phone and answer in a most formal, 'Doctor Cohen's residence". I remember quite clearly one day when I was about 14, I so answered and a lady asked if my father was in. I asked who was calling and she said, "Ava Gardner darling," in exactly the sort of accent and inflexion you would expect from a classic actress of the times. I called out to my father that an Ava Gardner was calling. Didn't put two and two together for a few minutes. It seems so unusual and refreshing whenever I read of a Hollywood person or couple who remain or were married for many years until passing. Maybe you could some day also do a video on them and not include those married yet obviously had numerous affairs. Of course, they say sex sells so that might be too unappealing. This was an interesting video as my wife and I have enjoyed for many years going to the movies, but you have to remember that in real life they are just actors. One guess of such an actor from the past is Jimmy Stewart.
