    Friendly tip for everyone, if it shows that your PS4 has a broken USB port like mine did and it's out of warranty. Buy or plug in a USB-hub and plug in your controller and USB-drive that way. I almost thought I had bricked my PS4 until I found out a USB hub works.

    Another way to upgrade/replace the HDD with SSD is to use a USB 3.0 Dual Hard Drive Docking Station and use external power (no computer required to clone the device), and then put your Original Internal Hard Drive into Slot 1, and then put your SSD into Slot 2 and then press the clone button and then it will clone everything from the original Internal Hard Drive to SSD, which means the process will be easier than this and because it will be cloning, you only need your original Internal Hard Drive and then your SSD, you do not need a external Hard Drive with this step, as when it clones, everything will be copied (All of the game data and the PS4 OS) will be moved onto the SSD, just make sure the SSD is larger than the HDD or the same size when you clone it. I hope this helps you guys!

I do have 1TB SSD to spare, but I honestly think it's not worth all that effort just to take away an average of 5-10 seconds of loading time when I rarely have any issues with long loading times, especially for water/bathroom/phone breaks in between.

    Interesting!
    However, there is something that has not been mentioned in the video, which is the following:
    if you are in a jailbreaked firmware you cannot make the backup because it will show an error at the end of the backup.
    And if you clone the original disk, for example if it is 1Tb and the replacement disk is 2Tb, being a disk cloning you will lose 1Tb because you will have an image of the original disk, and once in the PS4 console you will not be able to expand the disk .
    If you came across these "setbacks", what did you do to get around them?

      @@MrMario2011 would you say the Xbox series s is a 5th gen console?:I really wanted one for months and was about to pull the trigger then I just watched a few videos sayings it's more of a current gen than proper PS and Xbox X. Also I'm coming from PlayStation and only really play 2 to 4 games, I'd lose my library of hundreds of games and a blueray drive. I've just got a SSD external drive for my PS4 and it's breathed new life into it. The games run so fast now and loads so much quicker. I don't think id benefit from game pass. I would only play the CODs and Battlefields, GTA NBA 2k and RDR of this world and for a slight grapicsl and speed upgtead is it worth jumping over to a diskless slower Xbox? It's so dumb how the new gens have been unavailable for so long and the price wouldn't really benefit me as my multimedia is all on my firestick and the few games on my PS4. Not to mention the memory in the S is so bad and you have to spend at least another 300 on accessories like the memory plug in and controller etc. That's without the games. It just doesn't have enough pull right now, maybe in 2 years, if they ever sort out the prices and you can buy one. Not taking about the S

    Couldn't you not back up your games and just redownload and install all of them?

    No matter how many times I try and use different USB it says that the reinstall file can't be found. Not sure what I'm doing wrong at this point.

      The proper folder and file structure is all shown in the video. Make sure you're using the reinstall file, not the update file.

      And to make sure the USB drive is exfat format

    • @ericbernelis1
      @ericbernelis1 2 года назад

      Made sure it was exfat. For whatever reason when I download the update on my computer it shows it as either a word file or has an internet explorer icon. Not sure if something with the download is being messed up

    Very strange problem, I've inserted the SSD into PS4 and turned on to start recovery mode. I'm stuck at the connect controller screen. Both of my controllers WILL NOT connect no matter what. And don't tell me to push the reset button, I've already done it 50 times. Legit will not connect to a controller

      Problem has become even stranger, I was able to force connect a controller and it STILL will not move past this page. Literally WTF is going on

      @@SeismicSales YOO I figured it out. So you need a USB cable that can transmit data. So not a flimsy charging cord but like a cord that comes in a smartphone box or something, a thicc boi USB cord. Because Bluetooth is not active on recovery mode
