The Player Series strat has about 8 upgrades over the normal player series for just $150 more. I'm not sure how they pulled that off. Might get one, though.
@@genebrenner855Is that the one that says 'anniversary' on the upper horn/bout area in black font? Actually, I think I'm thinking of the 25th Anniversary Strat.
I'm 70 years old. My 1st strat was a used lefthanded MIJ born on May 4th 1988, Olympic White , maple fretboard ,white guard. Bought in 1998 in Oklahoma City OK.
I walked into my local store the day the American Professional II 70th arrived. It went home with me, and it is everything I have ever wanted in an electric guitar. Very cool to hear CG play it. Anyhow, if anyone wants to ascend into tone nirvana, it is a 100/10. Just unbelievable.
I'm an old rocker. My first strat i got at 16. Was a 76 stawberry burst, maple neck stratocaster. I slept with it. I later worked 12 hour shifts 6 days a night and one morning coming home from my security job found my front door open and mi guitar missing. The improvements i put into the 76 strat over the years was. A total of $2000. My mother bought the guitar for my 16 birthday. Heart broken 💔. Myfirst electric guitar got when I was 13 was a swedish 3 pickup strat style Hagstom. Happy Days to all.
Oh that Pro II is one gorgeous sounding and looking Strat! Love Strats but old now and downsizing. Now my only Fender is a Player Lead II with two Strat pups (and phase switching). Replaced the bridge pup with a SD Twangbanger. Now I get some Strat and Tele(ish) tones, in a lighter, smaller guitar suitable for me and my tiny seniors apartment.
Great demo .... Love the sound of the Pro best ... My first Strat was a Peavey predator and I still have it and love it .... Then I have a '59 reissue from about '91 ... a very good guitar I got second hand ... and then my workhorse for 12-15 years a Strat plus from '91 - '92 when I got it ... I really appreciate the tremlocking system or what it's called ... yes it has locking tuners too and lace sensors
I’d be happy with either one but would lean to the Pro. That look and sound is just at another level. 👌 I’ve only been playing since January 2023 and got my HSS Player Strat last May. The prices of these 70th Anniv Strats here in Oz are crazy. Just wish I lived in the U.S. 😕
I love the video, many thanks guys. I am thinking or part exchanging my fender Pro natural guitar for the new comet burst one. A really good video demonstrating what this guitar is all about and sounds fantastic. Brilliant!
I'm building a dimension hopper so i can find a parallel timeline where Fender is stuck in 1958! You can have a strat, a tele, or a jazzmaster. Watching eagerly as 'option paralysis' fades from my Penguin dictionary of modern phrases 💥
Time to start saving for a strat! I have a Gretsch G5420tg-59 electromatic and a Godin Fifth Avenue Memphis Sun with a Seymour Duncan 59 humbucker and Godin custom humbucker. I need the players with the vintage 59 pickups to go with them since I was born in 59...lol. I really love the stratocasters sound and feel, sold mine a couple of years ago and I'm still kicking myself. I used to like Les Paul style guitars until I played a strat. Strats are the most comfortable electric guitars ever to me. Shame they didn't put the locking tuners on the players strat though.
The pro sounds more saturated in comparison. I like the sound of the player more. It has more of that glassy vibe which I love. Very cool playing indeed.
Another great vid. If I didn't already have my eye on a white 61 vintage II strat, the anniversary Pro II version would look pretty good. Or maybe a gold P90 Les Paul... So many guitars to buy, so few greenbacks flowing in...
If I didn’t have a strat I would get the player in a heartbeat, it looks great to me. Too bad I have my American performer in arctic white, I probably won’t be happy if this player series isn’t as least equal in terms of playability and sound
I prefer the player plus to the player, because of the wider and flatter neck. If they release a cool anniversary edition player plus, I'm in, no question.
I wanted to buy the Pro II series so bad, But in my country, there is no shop where we can get the frets changed. So SS frets are a must for me, and that damn luxe is too expensive.
Almost bought this guitar but cancelled it after learning that it costs only $1000 in US. In my country it's sold for $1250ish which is absurd. For example, an Ibanez J-custom would cost 3 grand in US, but in my country you can get it for $2400, 600 bucks less! Amazing, isn't it lol
@@soofitnsexy Like the way he left the stage. Gave a wave and placed that Strat quietly on the floor in absence of a roadie who was likely backstage in awe hoping the sweet sounds wouldn't end.
On the screen at least, frankly the Player looks very reddish pao ferro though Fender Mexico is supposed to have gone back to rosewood? (Ed. It did darken somewhat with the angle exposing it with Cooper's playing it)
Look, if you buy a violin, a trumpet, a piano, a Fedora hat, a wellington boot or a jar of marmite, they're all pretty much the same as 100 years ago, so I don't think there's anything too special about strats staying unchanged (and of course, they have been tweaked in all sorts of ways) for 70 years.
I would love that Strat on the left if it didn't have that ugly ass line down the middle. I can't stand the body of guitars where you can see the wood joining line down the middle. It's so ugly I refuse to buy one no matter how good the guitar is.
I am a strat guy, have an american pro ii and a vintera 60s , planning to get my hands on the nebula
Its not worth the money. Youre better off with the ultra luxe
The Player Series strat has about 8 upgrades over the normal player series for just $150 more. I'm not sure how they pulled that off. Might get one, though.
Scary! I still remember buying the 40th Anniversary Strat. I'm officially old! Turning 53 in February.
No, you're still a young pup. Now take that from a 66 year old fossil. Time to rock on!
This is really really scary. I bought a new 20th Anniversary Strat. Maple neck, silver grey finish.

Wow I have the same guitar
That American Pro is gorgeous.

I love the tone of the players strat, got to have one. Very articulate notes, crystal clear and musical. Fender knocked it out of
the box.❤

Stratocaster is my favorite 👌
Strats rule!!

I’ll always begin and end with strats. Appreciate you working through them - there is always a difference. Thanks!

The Pro 2 punched my buttons, too.

Very informative video and phenomenal playing by CG as ever

I have a 40th anniversary Mexican Strat. When you get down to it, it's a '94 Strat.

First Stratocaster: 1983 JV, Fiesta, from Dave's Guitar in 1984. Most recent: 70th Anniversary Comet Burst.
I like the American Strat. .and I am color blind roo. If looks black and gray to me.
Nice playing!

That color was known as Holoflake and was used by the Fender Custom Shop in 1991/92 on the “American Classic” Stratocaster.
If I didn’t have a strat I would get the player in a heartbeat, it looks great to me.

i have the 04 50th anv standard replica of 54 now just bought comet burst
Have to have a maple board. I don't know why, but I just don't like rosewood fretboards on Strats.

Great t-shirt Coops.
The links to shop the guitars are not working guys. You get a page not found message in your website!
Guy on the right - Chris has GOT to be a Civil War re-enactor.

I prefer the American Pro 11 version. It has a sweeter tone.
There's another 9 iterations of the American Pros before get to 11.
So funny that Firefly has a finish like that......
Neat, I still have a 40th anniversary Strat. Apparently, I'm old.
Gary Moore brought the house down at the 50th with his rendition of Red House (Hendrix).
i think he used his 59 original strat sounded incredible thru that marshall

Maybe I'm due for another. Both my current strats are now 30+ years old.
Same finish as a Musi Virgo Fusion. Galaxy Black. A popular color on Chinese copies.
FYI Klipschorns haven’t changed in over seventy years. There’s not much else though, true.
I was just thinking, I can watch this and not be tempted. Then you mention an ox blood Tele..."very cool" you say...why?
My Fretboard Confessional Podcast must be broke! I don’t see any episodes past May 2023
Would have been nice to make them in nitro in a wooden case to make it worth buying.
Love the thumbnail - looks like a Lord of the Rings promo shot!
…well damn, Cooper
BOnE nUT
own an original roadhouse hot rod series and just bought a used mexican made fsr - great guitars.
Coca-Cola and Martin guitars have not changed much in many years
Original Coca Cola had a controlled substance….

@iancurrie8844 l don't think that it was a controlled at the time. In the '30s anyone could buy cocain over the counter at a pharmacy for a nickel.
Mr. Potato Head is @ 70 years old.
The player would be great if it had an ebony fingerboard. Such a strange choice.

I've yet to see a toilet seat that actually looks like that pickguard.
The pro II Is ALDER, NOT ASHE.

not sure if i dont like the tones or your playing but does not hit the spot for me
These models seem boring. I thought Fender would present something spectacular for the 70th anniversary Strat.
