Thank you mate, I try and make sure the videos are as accurate as possible to the best of my knowledge. There are always other ways to do things, some better than others and I’m always open to constructive criticism. It definitely helps having an old school machine that only requires basic tools! 😄
I have a 1998 Transit 2.5 TD camping-car. I’m not a mechanic at all, but thanks to your detailed explanations i got more and more confident to repair things by myself, starting with annual service. Last year the timing belt/water pump. I even changed the turbo and fixed the black smoke issue i have had since a few years. Coming back from holidays this summer i hardly managed to return home as the clutch was completely worn out. Without this video i would never have been able to fix this by myself. A massive thank you for these great videos. Keep doing what you are doing !
It’s my pleasure, I’m so glad that you find them useful! Well done for doing the repairs yourself 😁 You will never have to spend money at the garage again 😎
@@lukasgoos6243 i replaced the seal bearing and clutch kit recently, it has solved my original problem of not being able to select 1 very well when stationary, and my clutch works but the peddle is super high i had to adjust the cable a lot for it to work which leads me to believe my fork may be bent a bit, in hindsight i would have replaced the fork also but it works, i think i was too heavy before on the clutch when the throw out bearing was loose. Time will tell if the fork is okay, can't be bothered to pull it all off again.
Love these videos brilliant information and well documented. Done a few jobs on my smiley with your knowledge absolutely bang on with what you have done to your van well done mate 👍👍👊🏻
Thank you for your lovely comment mate, I’m so pleased that these videos are useful. It honestly makes it worth while doing all the recording and editing etc when you get responses like this so thank you 👍🏼😄
This one was very rewarding, feels great to get it all back together like new again. It’s in great condition because of all the oil protecting the metal! It’s great for rust proofing and I will need to keep on top of the rust now it’s not covered in oil 👍🏼 cheers mate!
Great and beautiful work !!! Feast for the eays)) I was doing this work half year ago and made mistake like you ). I think , it`s time to chang fuel pump, because diesel get from it . And better to install anther on clatch fork, it was better for clatch. Hello from Ukraine!
Absolutely awesome video. Thanks again. It's a job I need to do on mine but maybe a little bit too technical for me... But enjoyed ever minute of thinking I can do it 😂. Top job that tho
Thank you! I’m sure you are more than capable doing this job. It’s honestly not that bad. Especially if you can find someone to give you a hand and do it on a level ground 👍🏼😄
Haha thanks, nothing ventured nothing gained. These vans are very simple to work on not like newer stuff. I can’t say I would be so brave if it was a new one 👍🏼
@@TurnersWorkshop97 Ha ha! I was the dude that messaged about the tranny I picked up off of ebay the left hand drive one. Your right though easy to work on and its amazing how simple some of these old vans are.
good job need to do mine before winer, did you have any problems linig the splines back up when refitting gearbox to engine,i know sometimes they fall right back in but if there off a bit can be a bit fiddly
Hi, it is amazing what you have done so far with your van. I have the same platform under mine, and I have done the same sealing change, the timing belt change and the main shaft bearing change so far according to your videos I think you have mentioned if I remember well, do you have a turbo engine? Becouse my turbo is a little bit oily… So thanks for your guide wery useful for me and Im sure for others too.
Thank you for watching 😊 really pleased that you find the videos useful. Mine doesn’t have a turbo, yet. It may be the turbo oil seals have gone and need to be replaced. Worth getting the turbo reconditioned or replaced perhaps.
Did this on my VW Caddy. Good God. The rear main has a slotted sensor sendor that goes around it for the crank angle sensor, that has to be within a tolerance of 0.5mm or else the engine won't start. after removing and replacing the transmission 3 times I got it right!!
good job need my rear cranks seal replacing as its shuddering when hot...did you have any problems lining the splines back up when refitting gearbox to
My pleasure Nick, thank you for watching. The clutch I removed is made by Sachs so not the original. The van only came with partial service history, so I was unsure of the condition of the clutch. That’s one of the reasons I replaced it prematurely. Plus the old one was most probably contaminated with oil so best not to reuse 👍🏼
Hello, just one question...😢😢😢 I have a Ford Transit nugget 1999, but the diffential wasn't sure, I took it apart but now I can't find someone to rebuilt it..😢😢 do you know where I could find someone or some other spares parts. Thanks very much for your help
Hello mate, there should still be diff specialists around or alternatively you could look for a second hand one. The Facebook groups for transits are good for finding parts :)
Hi Oli, Can you please tell me where the parking brake signal switch is located on the transit, I have issues with that switch but it is not on the parking brake bar. Thank you in advance.
Hi, it is not there, I removed the rubber cover. The problem I have is there is no sign on the dashboard of the handbreak is pulled. I realised, the light is on, when the starter motor spins, after the engine is running, the light goes out. Regards: Balazs
@balazssolymossy1960 are you sure it’s the handbrake light as mine doesn’t have one. Could be the battery light? If you instagram me a picture of the light I can check for you.
Thank you, It is on the left of battery charge controll lamp, and it turned out that it is the control lamp of the brake fluid level, it is shaking when i start the engine or it has faliure, anyway the fluid level is ok, so i will not pay too much attention in the future on that light, rather the fluid level in the reservoir. Thank you for your answers, and help, and especially for your time you spent on my problem. Have a nice day!
Great job your attention to detail is first class, theres not many non professional mechanics would tackle that job👍

Hey, no problem! Hope you find it useful 😊
I was installing a new clutch cable and the fork fell away from its position, came across you vid and it has given me hope, what a champ 💪
Had the same thing happen, did you fix it? Was the fork bent or did ot just slip off?
