I remember whenever this album came out. I was laying in a field by my parents house stoned as shit off edibles just laying in the grass in bliss with headphones listening to this. It was a tough time during my life; 23YO no car, shit job, dad dying of terminal cancer, just a tough time. However, this song made everything going wrong feel like things were going to get better. My Dad has been gone since 2015 but this song will always remind me of him and the good times, and growing up and sticking it out. An absolute masterpiece
This song is _deceptively_ good. It took me a good 3 listens to realize what a killer song it is. The genius of it kinda flew under my radar initially....but on repeat listens, this is a super cool creative catchy song. And the visuals are awesome!
I found this album to be quite a grower on me, I only liked "Elvis Flaming Star" when I first listened to it, I couldn't dig the space keys and the odd layered production, but now I get it.. Still, this ain't my favourite by them, but a solid synth pop album for sure
Remember being on a tab of acid on a nice Aussie summer morning. Watched this and listened. Yea those tears where different, difficult but delicate. Absolutely beautiful
That section is cosmically gorgeous...reminds me why I love music more than anything on earth. And the visuals also kill it during that section....so trippy! :)
Bianca Barufaldi I agree!! Though I must admit, to me, this song is depressing in the most beautiful way, it's like my go-to song whenever I'm feeling the blues
I always thought he said Davis, and just realized he is saying "Dennis Wilson" who is one of my favorite human beings to ever exist, and now I love this track and band even more
I know for sure now that too much of my time will be spent on listening to the new album, can't wait! But I guess Pond and Jays voice is never too much, could listen to this song all day.
Amazingly ethereal and cosmic. So much depth and emotion in a relatively simple song. Uhhhhh makes me just want to just travel to the dimension in the videoo, so much self awareness and psychedelic
To all who can read this and understand, the Tame Impala/SpinningTopMusic family has consistently released badass shit, this song has such a beautiful melody. This is Earth and Australia and I love it.
Ahhh McCain, you've done it again! The 13 seconds of blackness to get it to 4:20. Clever fellas, real cunning. My brain is fuzz after that. Keep it psychedelic and never change lads!!❤️
You know taht actually there isn't a fine line separating Pond and Tame Impala. They are all friends and collaborate to one another's project. Nick plays/ed in Tame Impala, Jay aswell. Even KP played drums and produced some of Pond's songs. I find them like a nice big group of friends, with two big projects. And they play in both of them when needed.
+Tiberiu Şagău The difference here is that Tame Impala actually looks like "Kevin and friends" because he likes to write everything alone, thats why i like POND much more.
+pizzax5 Kevin seems mildly ordinary and sane, pond seems insane....which makes usually for weirder and more interesting music in some sense, less commercial but cult and long term significance, it'll never get old kind of thing cause it's so out there, whereas Kevin works in the milieu of modern producers which makes his music more likely to use the "current" techniques which come and go out of fashion quickly. These guys are just soaking up everything...I almost think they should have called themselves Sponge instead, but Pond maybe a good metaphor as well, sort of a swampy muck steaming full of life in miniature.
Currents is a good album but it's getting the attention of some shit people that loves pop and its out of this pyschedelic music and so it's kinda getting fashion and that shit, like posers and shit like that
According to one of the comments about this song here: "The track mimics the uneasiness songwriter Jay Watson would get when visiting empty construction sites during his youth: 'We’d sit at the top and I’d always be afraid that we were gonna fall off, kill ourselves. That’s what the song is about. Kind of an anxiety power ballad,' he explained." Can't confirm it though.
4:20

Sabia que vocês curtiam!!!!
Ahhh, Meu Deus! Quase infartei, Amo Pond, Amo Boogarins!!!!

Ó os boogarinhos marcando presença aisudhaiusdhai

You should try it with LSD.... it's fucking mindblowing... it feels like u are the king of universe.

I know for sure now that too much of my time will be spent on listening to the new album, can't wait! But I guess Pond and Jays voice is never too much, could listen to this song all day.

Tiberiu Şagău YOu are damn right!
+Tiberiu Şagău The difference here is that Tame Impala actually looks like "Kevin and friends" because he likes to write everything alone, thats why i like POND much more.
+pizzax5 it's not that kevin likes to write alone, it's his project and god bless his mind cause he is from outter space
Seems like Jay had a lot of influence in this song IMO... I hear a lot of Gum "Delorean Highway" in this track. Fucking love it though!
According to one of the comments about this song here: "The track mimics the uneasiness songwriter Jay Watson would get when visiting empty construction sites during his youth: 'We’d sit at the top and I’d always be afraid that we were gonna fall off, kill ourselves. This album finally puts them up there with Tame Impala. The last couple albums were ok, but man this album is epic.
really good song
Anyone know any other music videos that are trippy like this one?
There's another song by them called Paint Me Silver with a very similar video.
