Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of How To Train Your Dragon 2 for the Nintendo Wii U developed by Torus Games and published by Little Orbit.
Based on the popular DreamWorks film, How To Train Your Dragon 2 is a simple flight game similar in structure to Nintendo’s Pilotwings. Players control a dragon of their choice as they fly around the island of Berk. Various challenges are scattered all over the island, but players are also free to roam the skies above the island and collect the hidden tokens, as well. Challenges include games like spitting fireballs at viking cutouts, collecting sheep and of course, rings. This game has an awful lot of rings. After playing a few of these games individually, the game will offer you a tournament game in which you have to complete five of them in a row. How To Train Your Dragon 2 is a single-player game on the PlayStation 3.

this is more or less the flying stages from Spyro.

I figured it out, what could have made this game half way decent; make it like Ace Combat. Actually, Ace Combat with dragons sounds pretty awesome, why hasn't anyone done that yet?
They tried, it was called Lair for PS3 and it was NEARLY awesome. Amazing dragons, amazing animation, all hampered by terrible gameplay, controls, story, and graphics. It really was such a shame because when it was patched to include analog stick support it became almost good. The dragons were actually pretty fun to fly around with.
I just want that but not terrible. Why is that apparently a golden goose in terms of gaming?
I did like a game from your view, and thx to your effort I've also compared different versions finding the wii u version more adorable
It's addicting to move/walk/fly/jump/either fast and difficult, especially more then reality could permit, in beautiful places that your imagination could even create.
Sonic Racing Transformed showed us how it can be amazing to participate in ring racing. Except this game only Legend of Guardians extended ring racing gameplay experience. And How to TYD2 made a good job by making next game with a next level of esthetic value
While Superman 64 is also funny, but How to TYD 2 is much more finished and great in terms of design, animations, camera, music and stability [no_glitches]
But anyway it's okay, I mean it's okay about mistake that people around liking to hate, sharing and trying to find other people who will hate like them. It's matter of great luck that one day a man realizes how to love and do what he wants to.
Believe me I hate this game because its terrible. But at least its not a completely broken game like..........._sonic_ _06_..... But i still think this game is just a money-grab, because you know..... kids are stupid.
The game is not that bad, its just like Need For Speed, but on the back of a dragon and through rings air roads.

Yeah except this minigame collection have already been toppled by several others. Hell, this looks so barren awful, rather play Nintendo Land it actually is pretty damn fun.

The game actually looks decent, albeit short. I wish it was open world, though. I love How to Train Your Dragon's world, would love to explore Berk and the cave where he first met Toothless and the Alpha's domain as well. Make it into an RPG :P

why do you do mulitple reviews of the same game? it seems like its a waste of time and interest I understand re doing a review from the past but you could focus on other games you know
I'm pretty sure people send games in for Derek to review, I know that's how mark does it. Either way it's pretty entertaining watching him lose his mind.
