Great reaction. I love to see appreciation for Lea's acting as well as her singing. You can easily close your eyes and be moved by this performance (you did close your eyes for part of it), but she's also amazing to watch. Lea was the first Asian/person of color to play Eponine on Broadway (1993). Lea is one of the only people who were asked to be part of the 10th anniversary (called the Dream Cast concert, 1995) and 25th anniversary concerts of LES MISERABLES. And she is the only person to do singing voices for two Disney Princesses (Jasmine and Mulan). She started working professionally at age 7 (as a kid in THE KING AND I in the Philippines), played her first lead at age 9 (ANNIE), had her first album go gold at age 10, hosted a musical tv show with her brother from ages 12-14, plus films, tv appearances, concerts, other albums and theater productions. Lea was in her first year of college (age 17) when she auditioned for MISS SAIGON. She started MISS SAIGON on London at age 18, won the Olivier at 19, opened MISS SAIGON on Broadway at 20 and won the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World Awards. And of course there has been a lot more between ages 21-50! (She turned 50 this past February.) It's LAY-uh Salonga (same pronunciation as Princess Leia from Star Wars).
This is still my favourite performance and the absolute gold standard of this song. After hearing it you can't ever listen to another rendition of it again without thinking about this. Lea is a goddess!
Thanks for featuring Filipino talents like Ms Lea Salonga. Please react more to other of her performances as well as other Filipino world class artists. Thanks and more power!❤️🇵🇭
I agree, Lea's version set the high standard for Eponine and Samantha manages to hit the same standard when playing Eponine. They just made it to where any less of a performance doesnt do the character justice.
This is the reason why i really love to watched a REAL and LEGIT vocal coach reacting to a singer.Because they really feel the message, emotions and the performance of the singer. (Sorry for my engLish, just want to express my gratitude to you.Nice content Madam.Good job)
I always like the way you integrate technical music concepts to your appreciation of the singer's talent in words that ordinary laymen can understand. Keep up the good work.
She is considered as one of the best Eponine, even the Eponine on the 25th anniversary asked her for tips in playing this role. In the 25th Lea played as Fantine. She can still sing that until now with much power. She technique is much stronger now. Pls also react to her singing "Burn" from the musical Hamilton. Her version is my favorite.ruclips.net/video/X-HxAw0sKY8/видео.html Also her duet with her daughter ruclips.net/video/yjpi3MOa2HY/видео.html
Next task: Please react to Philip Quast singing another song called Stars, from Les Mis. He's my definitive Javier and has no singing background. 😲 Thanks.

Maybe you should learn how to pronounce her name properly....🤷♂️
The m8nute reactors continually stop the dong I click off, play the song then give your reaction and professional opinion.
If Japanese singer though, it would be "I rob him".
Morisette vocal is far better
Nawalan ako ng gana ni lea. Sa BTS kana punta lea. I am disappointed in yo. I will not watch your performance any longer.
Bakit naman po
The 10th Anniversary performance was a master class on musical theater. Philip Quast's Stars or Colm Wilkinson's Bring him Home are epic solos.
