This is a big character moment for Adrian. All up until this scene, she was timid, guarded, anxious and scared to death of trying to get even the slightest of her own needs met. But Rocky gently opened her up. He let her know right off the bat that it was okay to tell him 'no' if she wanted to. But she was attracted to him for it, so she didn't protest. It shows even further when she finally sets boundaries with Paulie later on, refusing to let him control her the way he used to.

@@AndreaVerduzco-yi5pi She doesn't feel like she belongs there because she's too scared to go beyond what she knows which is being painfully shy and used to her life with Paulie where she's been kept down even further. She clearly likes Rocky a lot and the nuance in the acting of this scene is impeccable. She's making excuses for why she doesn't want anything more to happen between them both but Rocky clearly is confident enough to push her out of her comfort zone.
I love that he kisses her on the cheek first and then as she pulls away she turns towards him because she's expecting a kiss. It shows him that she does want to kiss him after all before he pulls the trigger. So cute
Best kiss scene ever. You know it's her first--and as gentle as he is, you just feel like you're in the presence of true love. And the song! That perfect song... through the 'tinny'-sounding transistor radio. There's a purity about it all. This scene is sheer *perfection*.
What I love about Rocky is how has an idea what a good husband is. Adrian has an idea what it means to be a good wife. They worked on each others weaknesses; Rocky lack of intellect and Adrian’s shyness.
What a lovely kiss, adrian at first didn't want to kiss him, then she loved it and kiss him more and fell in love with him.

I definitely think that Rocky made Adrian realise that she was strong, beautiful and desired having believed all her life that nobody wanted her and that wasn't helped by Paulie always taking his frustrations out on her. So she was very shy and mousy to begin with and very reluctant to let Rocky in at first because she couldn't get past the belief that a man, especially a strong and powerful one like Rocky who is ambitious and determined to rise to the top would never find her desirable but when he went in for the kiss starting with asking her to take her glasses and hat off, everything changed and her confidence grew rapidly.
It's a very powerful moment and sets in motion the transformation of Adrian into a very tough and strong woman always fixing Rocky but never allowing him to fall.

Despite his attempt to make her sit in that dirty couch i'd say he played it pretty smooth here although i get the awkwardness. He did push her a bit and she felt weird for a sec but only cause she was awfully shy. If he'd waited for her to make a move it'd had never happened for them.

Fun fact. Talia Shire (the actress who played Adrian) actually had the flu when this scene was filmed. Which is why she (Adrian) was hesitant to kiss Rocky, (Stallone) but they kept it in the final since it fits well in Adrian’s character

Not that I'm listening for it but as they were kissing u could hear Adrian moaning letting Rocky know she was enjoying it. As he slid them down in the floor and she was sighing that was letting him go even farther. Lol. Ladies, listen when u do this it let's the guy know u love it. Don't be afraid to make sounds. I had my first time with my husbamd before we were married ajd it went just like this he lived alone in a small apartment and I stayed with him. Love how this scene has so many modern day snowflakes on edge and yet they miss the nuance of it all. The whole point of this scene works in the context of the story and these particular characters. There's clearly a connection already there that they both know and realise but it's been mostly Rocky all the way up until this point whose been pushing harder to try and make her come out of her shell and not be so shy. The reason she's nervous and feels like leaving his apartment is because she's scared of going any further even though she clearly really likes him and he's certain of that enough to make a move while still being measured about it.

I get that this is supposed to be romantic, but hindsight is 2020 these are all the telltale red flags for women, the only way to forgive this is that rock, he himself is such a kind and loving person
At any point Adrian could've told Rocky a definite no that he would understand. At this point she liked him but didn't know how to express it so she tried to run back home to Paulie where she's safe and conflictless. Rocky notices it and decides that at the end he needs to take whatever possible measure so that he doesn't lose her which he probably would had they not had this beautiful scene. 👍

Sylvester Stallone, the actor who plays rocky, wrote the character and a lot in the franchise is based on his own life and experience but no he is a not based on a real person except himself a bit

I know that Michael didn’t respect his sister any more, but was she really that afraid of Michael that she changed her name from Connie to Adrian?
I would have thought that with the money the Corleone’s had, Connie could have been given a stipend every month and not had to work in a pet shop.
I liked the way that Michael (Mickey) was always at odds with Connie and they competed against each other in Godfather 4- aka “Rocky” because it was a “Rocky” relationship they had.
