@@TheWatchFrame I think the proportions are well balanced. I really like that 38mm to 40mm size range on my 7.25" wrist. I also like pieces under 11mm thick. I went with the black because I think it will work better in business/dress situations. I recently sold my vintage Rolex Air King I bought new in 1991 for triple what I bought it for, so I'm buying a few watches with that money. The Traska was my first purchase. Honestly, it looks and feels superior to the Rolex. My tastes have changed and now I'm just buying what I like -- less concerned about brand equity, status, resale, etc. I also just bought a blue Longines Hydroconquest 39mm quartz. Yes, quartz. It is 2mm thinner (just 10mm thick) than the auto and got a great deal on it for $700. Great grab and go "dress diver". I also have on order a RZE Resolute C3 Lume (the new version without date and now has the explorer style dial) on canvas for my field/beater. It is titanium and an added hard finish. I have a preference for watches for hard finishes.
@@brocklanders6969 thanks for the input. I got the green one as I had the black already and the Explorer for any other occasion. I applaud your decision to get other affordable watches. There's a great amount of them and worth trying. It's funny how tastes evolve. Same thing here. The RZE looks awesome. A really tough one. Will keep checking it. You are making very wise decisions my friend.
@@TheWatchFrame Thanks. Rolex makes a great product, but it is a little overrated and certainly overpriced. It was a good time to sell my Air King. It looked too vintage with the 34mm case -- now a ladies watch size. I could have bought a new Tudor Back Bay for what I got for it or added some cash and got a Omega Aqua Terra, but really wasn't all that excited about either of them. I looked hard and long at a variety of things, but kept coming back to the Summiteer. I think that is Traska's best offering. Love the hardened finish. IMHO too many modern watches are just too big.
@@brocklanders6969 Yes, I really have come to appreciate smaller sizes from 35 to 39 (40mm) size depending on the type of watch. The Summiteer is also what I believe a very nice proposal too. Also have the Commuter (for my wife) and is great, but the Summiteer is better for legibility in poor light conditions which I really appreciate. I'm sure the v3 black Summiteer has to have the best legibility. About Rolex I think that at retail is worth the price. After watching a couple of them being serviced I got really impressed by how the movements are designed and built, but secondary market prices are simply over the roof and probably not worth is from a wearer point of view.
Wow the third version with the thicker bezel and smaller numerals look so much better in my opinion. The version two wears like a 40 mm but the version three wears more like its own size at 38 mm.
I'd say the bezel is the same width, but being the numerals, as you say, a tad smaller and the minute track a bit away from the edge of the dial, might appear larger. Yes, it makes a more compact and proportioned watch indeed. I'd say it still wears a bit larger, like a 39mm, but way better than before. Thanks for commenting.
@@TheWatchFrame On Traskas website they say that all their version 3 watches have the bezel thicker by 1.3mm. I actually pre-ordered one but forgot that I pre-ordered it and they eventually ran out lol.
@@turnbasedtoddy7664 can't seem to find that information but that could be the case. I don't have a v2 to compare. Anyways, the minute track being printed a bit away from the edge make the general look and appreciation much better. Hope the watches will be available again in October.
Your review was informative but also a bit nit picky. Traska makes a very impressive tool watch. Perhaps you should make your own watch to your specifications. Then see how many people will find something to nit pick about your finished product. There is no such thing as THE perfect watch. Deal with it and move on.
I totally agree, there's not such thing as a perfect watch and it's been hard, as I stated, to find something negative, or rather possible future improvements, to mention and thus I have been nit picky, like I was in the v2 review. I however believe that only being constructively critical watches can improve, as the team at Traska did considering the criticism of the v2 we and others made. And some of the criticism was nit picking too. For instance people have been critical with my videos and with each criticism I try to improve a bit. And it's in my own right to ignore them if I see fit to do so and the same goes with any brand listening to our reviews. I only have good words for Traska and I am very happy with this v3 that feel is, in part, my own. Hope to design a watch in the future and hope to receive constructive criticism also. Thanks for commenting!
Nice video, I have the blue, missed out on the green and black. Any idea when the next release is?

Great reviews. Classy, relaxed, and well thought out.
Thanks a lot. Seems that although I'm not the most relaxed person the review kind of end up being like that.
Great detailed review - we’ll done as always!
Thanks for your words. I really appreciate them!
I just got this watch in black. I'm very impressed with it for the price.
Great. How does the dial look like? I have the v2 and wonder if the v3 looks more proportionate as I believe it does.
