People don’t realize that in the beginning Murphy never was a killer until they literally almost killed him by hanging him for something he didn’t do. And then who knows what PTSD he went through at the grounders camp. No wonder why he came back and killed a couple people. He obviously has had a life of trauma. That’s why I always loved Murphy‘s character and completely sympathize with him. Love his character development.

@@tatianamaranoedits4184 watching way back then, I was so mad watching it all go down. And it still bugged me for how long they held one mistake over his head and always treated him bad while fin killed 18 people and Clare and other tried to get him off.

He is my favorite I wish they do a show with just him
He isnt a bad guy. He is just broken. You can tell that by the look in his eyes. The way he talks. But he cares. About everybody. He just doesnt know how to show it properly. He doesnt love himself so he cant love anybody else. So im glad that he met Emori. She is teaching what love is, and how to love. But he still has a long way to go. But he can do it. I know it.
He has grown so much and like you said I truly believe that he was never a bad guy

Murphy had the most thoughtful character development in the whole series. He was always getting blamed for things other people did and for doing the same things everyone else was doing. It's like the communal scapegoat. But he had the most solid grit out of the whole crew. He just acknowledged himself for what he was and often underestimated hos own worth, while the other characters were constantly fighting their own overinflated egos and sense of self-importance. His honesty and ability to recognize his own biases is why he was hated. The world hates a person like that. They were rejecting what he made them see in themselves; he was actually more righteous than he realized.
As a side note, when Murphy said that he would go to hell, I wonder if he saw a premonition that he would give up his place in the afterlife to live with his friends ... Wouldn't that be deep AF.
The city of light arc with Murphy and Jaha was epic. Best TV I have seen in years. Murphy and Jaha were epic companions in that arc. Murphy is hands down the best character in the series.
Yeah honestly I wish that Jaha had survived the timeskip, because I feel like him & Murphy deserved to have at least one more scene together.
Jaha listened to him when no One else would, honestly I wish wells lived bc I feel him and Murphy would be a lot closer

If Bellamy banished Murphy from their "oh so civilised group", then how does him(Murphy) spilling stuff about the group make him a traitor, if he's not part of the group anymore, then he's not really a traitor, is he Bellamy? Like, doesn't that just make him someone who wants to live😶?

@@tatianamaranoedits4184 Nope, I can't really blame him☺️ I've also always been quite a sucker for misunderstood characters AKA, underdogs, which can be quite irritating, due to the fact that a lot of shows aren't that self aware of characters that they treat like... 5h!t? And then they treat them like the bad guy, ya'know?
Murphy never killed without reason, he wasn't that big of a sociopath too. Being almost hanged changed him very early on in the story. Trauma led him to do things that are wrong. He also was just trying to survive and make the best of it. What I liked about him was how he lasted until the very end. He started off as a bit of an anoying sarcastic guy and not one of the lead roles, but he just refuses to die.
"Maybe you're forget the last time you saved us, I WAS SAVING YOU". Hate to see Murphy not being appreciated especially the sacrifices he made. Didn't like Murphy in the first season but when his character grew, he became my favorite.

Ditto, I always try to explain his character to people who havnt watched the show and its impossible. They always say "sounds like a bad guy to me" to which i reply, "and you guys wouldnt end up the same" I dunno, just seemed relatable in an odd way.

People wonder why he always looked after himself, they tried to kill him, beat him up while he was tired up, taken by the grounders, tortured, left for dead and people really think they will be nice after all that?? Let’s me real bc many of you can’t be real. You would do and be exactly like Murphy was. Save yourself and look after yourself at any cost. It’s hard to care for people once you been treated like shit, it’s amazing how he cared about emori and raven. They were literally the people he would do anything for, even his life.

I just love Murphy i'm nowhere near as flawed or plagued by PTSD as he is but i always related more to his story arc than Clarke or Bellamy. Octavia's growth and his are some of the best content in the 100 because they embody the quest for love and acceptance and humanity present in the all series. With both of them it's less superfical than with other characters and goes more in depth and straight to the point.
Murphy is my favorite character. When Ontari SA him it broke my heart. It is one of his most overlooked traumas ans it kills me everytime I watch the show.
