I always loved Murphy cause he never was a bad guy. His friends tried to kill him for nothing and even when he tried to help nobody would trust him etc etc. My favorite character in the whole show tbh

I didn't like him initially because he was such a bully. But I hate the double standard - so many of the others have done equally terrible, or worse, things but his crimes are held against him so much longer.
Tbh him, Jones and Mbege were awful to everyone else in the beginning, basically everyone in Bellamy's militia was.. including Jasper, Monroe, Harper, Atom and Miller
@@ch5635 his crimes are held against him so much longer because it was their first impression and when they literally met him. The others had a different first impression when they met each other. It's hard to change first impression, sadly enough.

complex, developed, as opposed to Abby's character, so shallowly written.
@@Joseph1NJ Abby was so good at season 1 she had her good moments later but overall she was a very shallow character after season 1.
Murphy's mother's last words to him were "You killed your father."
Raven's mother drank herself to death
Clarke's dad was floated for wanting people to know the truth
Bellamy and Octavia's mother was floated for having 2 children.
Everyone's life on the Ark sucked, but no one seemed to realize that Murphy had it just as bad (if not worse) than the rest of them.

Well he had it worse his father was helping him Cuz he was sick/dying but he gets floated anyway all the others didn't had such an hard past as Murphy sure being floated for having a second child is harsh too but still not as harsh as Murphy
I hated Murphy with a burning passion at first. Then, after he apologized to Raven, and said he didn’t want to die alone, he started to grow on me. Not only do I love his ruthless sarcasm and wit, but his will to survive. He’s so broken, but yet, he holds himself together. He’s done questionable things, but no one on the ground is innocent. No one.

Well, they say that Murphy make terrible things but they forget that Clarke did a genocide, Bellamy killed a whole army that came to help them. I think he is one of the most innocent ones except Monty and Raven. He just killed the people who hanged them and I understand that, we dont know what we would do if we hanged for nothing

I hated him so much in season 1 and now he is my favorite character in this show and I would literally do anything for him. Such an interesting journey he went through, I hope he keeps on surviving because thats what he is good at and i god damn need him haha

After watching this, I realized just how fascinating a character John Murphy was.
Over the course of the past few seasons, Murphy became my favorite character on the show. I'm glad you made a video on him!
He was my favorite from the moment he said "look everybody the chancellor of earth"
murphy deserves to survive until the very end. he's come such a long way, and his character development is one of the best i've ever seen. i swear if they kill off murphy-

After finishing season 6 I can tell u that Murphy really was trying to survive but he’s always meant well
What happened to Murphy at the end of tht season again? I didnt watch S7 yet so dont spoil plz. But what happened to Murphy at the end of S6?
He decided to stay back and save his people and reconciled with Clarke.
He lived when he was kicked out
He lived when he was trapped in a lighthouse for months by a madman
He changed through pain and loss
He never gave up when faced with impossible odds
He never broke from the stress, the depression of seeing his home destroyed, the people he knew all his life blown up, stabbed, impaled, decapitated, killed in the most horrific ways imaginable, through all that, he fought, he lived, he loved, and his effort payed off, and continues to, cockroach is an understatement.
Am I the only one that liked him in season one and continued to like him through the rest of the show

This fellow Murphy is the strongest character of the whole series...he has the ability to withhold the insult, hate, banishment, betrayal, etc., yet he broke out of all and emerged as the strong person among all characters. He is the only one who killed fewer people in the whole series and yet hated by all other worthless bimbo show off characters...

I'm watching this in 2023 and I think I never realized how much I loved Murphy's character all along. Amazing storyline, character growth and marvelous acting from Richard Harmon. All the way from those first episodes to the series finale. If I ever go back to rewatch the 100, it will be to see Murphy through a new lens
Murphy really should've became the main villain for at least one season, he really deserved a power role and still does. The guy has all the qualities and a great reason to be a main antagonist. He's smart, as indicated by his past where it was stated that he was one of the brightest students before he changed after his parents died. He continues to show his intelligence through his manipulative and calculating ways, as well as being able to read a situation instantly. The problem with that is he doesn't like to plan everything out and think of all the possibilities to instead go with the flow until he can find a chance. He has a strong affinity to survive from each case he has faced such as: going through multiple torture sessions, fighting against suicide while inside the bunker for nearly a year while watching nothing but an explanation of the end of the world and a man commit suicide, is constantly berated for everything he does; more so the fact that he's used as a scapegoat for nearly all of our MC' s, yet takes it in stride as best he can to move on, and he has an extreme fortitude for pain and a strong mentality to not break who he is and what he believes everyday for him is, survival of the fittest.

The day he was hanged in season 1, he reminded him of me. Always being blamed for something I didnt do. Been my favortite character since the first episode till now.
Don't compare yourself to him, when you got blamed you didn't hanged as your punishment did you now
My favorite character since the beginning the minute he came on the scene and still is my most favorite character out of all of them.
Some of the characters I liked died like Lincoln, Jasper, Finn, Roan and Monty but it didn't hurt me as much as I thought it would but the minute someone or something that could kill or hurt Murphy happens. I end up screaming NO please not him kill or hurt anyone but him cause he doesn't need or deserve any of it.
this really shows how strong John actually is, and it's really looked over. Hes one of the characters that have been through the most yet everyone still treats him like his not important.
Murphy and Kane are just masterpieces of characters, their heroism is touching

john murphy is hands down one of the best cases of character development i have ever seen in any film/tv show. best character on the show 100%.
Am I the only one who thinks that if Murphy was at Clarke's place he would have began with negotiating with the Mount Weather's people by promising to donate (blood/bone marrow) to them for letting saving his people instead of declaring a war and blowing them up as Clarke and Bellamy did. From start to end Murphy is a kind of person who tries to find a win-win solutions to problems. I like that about him.
Clarke isn't as strategic as Murphy is and Bellamy is better than Clarke in terms of strategy but he also falls short compared to Murphy's strategic sense. Only problem is Murphy isn't the main character and hence isn't in charge.
Good video! I've loved Murphy since season 1. When they hung him I felt it was so unfair and cruel. He and all the characters have been through so much and I honestly love his character arc. But I like the clips you chose. You got some good quotes in too!

It's strange cause when I started this series the first one I noticed was Murphy. I thought I was crazy cause hes kinda a psychopath but hes been my favorite character since season 1 and I'm so glad someone did a video on him, he deserved better in my opinion ❤🥺

It's so perfect how you did that at 2:47 the whole second chance part about John. The shot where he was holding the gun that Bellamy gave him as a second chance. And then when pike said "wasted it" it showed john with the gun next to Fin. Perfectly demonstrating the fact that he could have stopped fin with the gun but decided not to. That second chance was wasted.
He’s always been my favorite character on the show since the beginning cuz he did what he had to do to survive cuz that what he is a survivor
The rest did to but they act like they are somehow better. He probably tries so hard to survive since his dad died for him and doesn't want to waste that.

Меня огорчает, что именно его другие персонажи осуждают, как ты точно показала в моментах, где они пеняют ему, что он только о себе думает и взять тоже сравнение с тараканами - что все переживет. Хотя, если посмотреть по сумме всех событий, то остальные ничем его не лучше.И от этого ценнее моменты с Кларк и Монти, на которые ты также акцентировала внимание 😍Как и на сюжетную линию с Рейвен, ты выбрала очень сильные моменты, мне особенно понравились тот, что с выстрелом и где "ты винишь себя сильнее...". Великолепный трибьют Мерфи, очень честное и эмоциональное видео. ❤

Так странно, что еще в 1 сезоне он был злодеем, а теперь он наверное один из тех, у кого руки в крови в меньшей степени:) Ради него я начала смотреть этот сериал, и он так и остался моим любимчиком))

I like him since season one, I never hated I understand him more than any other characters in the show, he don’t deserve the way he is being treated in the show
I didn't like him in season 1 and tbh I thought he was gonna die and I wouldn't even care. However when they hanged him and then banished him after defending Charlotte, I was definitely on his side. After that I still didn't like him but I sympathised with him. I started liking him in season 2 and then I started loving him in season 3. He's one of my faves on the whole show and he's without a doubt one of the best characters too. His development along with Kane's is the best on the show. A great tribute ;)

After Clarke went a bit nuts along with Jasper and Finn killed the village only Monty, Murphy Bellamy and that one guy whose name I can’t temper who stuck with raven that older guy and then that one other engineer guy.
I'm very curious to know what you do to prepare 4 these beautiful videos... Do you listen to a song or some sort of ambient track? do you watch the show or film and decide what tunes and cuts would best sell the drama and suspense... do you just do it on the Fly? I used to play around with bits and pieces of the Requiem for a Dream soundtrack combined with some old school tool instrumentals and cut my favorite scenes for a more visceral and sometimes fantastical feeling. I love editing and I love to evoke emotions and unexpected thought
