    Eden misled Parliament and the country. Macmillan colluded with that action and here we see him singing the previous Prime Ministers praises.

    The MacMillan years were just more years of British decline and mediocrity. He even said so himself in his diary, “All our policies, at home and abroad are in ruins”-1963. Our economy was the slowest growing out of any other industrialised country and just a few years after he leaves office we were overtaken In living standards and economic output by countries like France and West Germany.

      Many educated in the period often suggest RAB Butler.
      To be fair to MacMillan, he did plenty of good things as PM and before that too and he was the first PM to try to enter the European Union/Economic Community.
