A Pasta Maker can be used when you are working with clays to roll out flat, uniform thickness sheets. Just don't leave your eight-year old niece alone in your kitchen when you have clay on the kitchen table.....don't ask me how I know this.

I make so many comments durning the early morning hours, I bet you think I’m a insomniac! You’d be right about that. It’s amazing the things I have watched and the things I have learned during the night. These fans are so pretty! I really wish we had fancy things to enjoy in today’s dressing customs. I can’t imagine future generations trying to imitate our current dress code of flannel pajama bottoms and sweat shirts. We do dress up sometimes by substituting yoga pants or jeans instead of the standard PJ bottoms, when we go out somewhere fancy, like Walmart or Burger King. I loved your project. I’m beginning to think there is no end to your talents for design and construction. I bet you could design furniture for your eras of interest. It wouldn’t surprise me to tune in and see a classic mid century dressing table, or bed ensemble, designed on your pattern paper, and spread out on the Blue Table Of Doom!

Michaels carries an inexpensive "gold leaf" that is of course completely not made of real gold, but it sticks very well to raw polymer clay and can be baked. I use it on beads and fairy doors. thank you for your cool content. today I saw a girl on youtube ordering on wish over and over again and wondering about lacking quality. Gold leaf works really well with polymer. Mica powders (or eyeshadows) are great on polymer too, esp for insects because you can get lovely iridescent colours. They can be dusted onto raw clay using a paintbrush. Or even onto baked clay. The only thing is that the pieces need sealing to avoid the powder wearing off. Works particularly well on black clay as iridescent colours usually do.

It turned out really beautiful! I kind of want to make a fan now. You should definitely do a video on tambour embroidery! I've been teaching myself and there aren't many good videos on it. Using a proper frame for tambour makes it way easier than using a hoop because you can get more tension. I've got an elbesse star tapestry frame which is pretty good except that I had to drill extra holes in it. They come in loads of different sizes and are pretty cheap. I would like to make a big slate frame at some point though. I'd love to see what kind of design you'd come up with for a beaded dress

Agree with you re. how beautiful Japanese lacquer art is... and you're right (29:50) that Victotian porcelain painting as a job was less fun than it sounds! The main problem being the lead-based paints, combined with the way the fact that the artists linked their brushes to create a fine point to the hairs... 😵 (Mercedes Lackey does an interesting job incorporating these health risks, as well as the sexual predation that occurred upon all-female factory staff, into her fantasy novel 'The Gates of Sleep'?)
I have to register a dissenting opinion re the relative tackiness of faceted re flat sequins though! 😆 (The more jewel-like ones just seem more classy to me somehow...? Not to mention more sparkly! 😂)

This is so cool! Also, idk if this was purposeful, but this video on the hand fan is not included in the cicada gown playlist on your channel. ❤
