4:20 I like this part. You can see the kid pat the translator's back, and the translator pats his back in return. When he pats the second guy's back, you can see the dev nod at him. Funny stuff knowing that he's some random kid, but it's nice to see that he was respectful.

the orchestra was indeed very different this year. they even used the same gow theme from 2018 though they couldve used the ragnarok theme but it's okay overall. Elden Ring's was so good but it was a little unrecognizable to me.
It’s still pretty much the same theme regardless of if it’s 2018 or Ragnarok

The orchestra was so weird to me this year... elden ring part especially. I've heard the entire soundtrack several times but honestly I have NO idea what part of the music of the game was adapted for this performance

I haven't even played elden ring but I recognized it almost immediately because I'm almost sure they used that song in the trailers

Ragnarök was great but Elden Ring fully deserved to win. Both great games can be played on PS (and at some point PC) unlike Xbox. Nine years of game awards and still not a single Xbox exclusive nominated for GoTY 😂

Forbidden West was so forgetful that I forgot it was a separate game from the first one.
And Ragnarok was okay, but being only okay for a God of War game is a big step down.

As time goes on, the honeymoon phase will die out and people will look at Ragnarok and realize it's not as great as we once thought it was.
It's too long with too much cut scenes for me. I honestly not sure if i want to play it again. Even when NG+ comes out

Had gow. And it was disappointing. Plot, visuals and characters are superb. But gameplay and enemy variety are boring and shallow. It's not a bad game, but it does not deserve neither the praise, nor money I paid for it on steam with discount. And it is definitely not good enough to buy ps and integrate in the disgusting Sony ecosystem.

And I'm sorry, but saying GoW has boring or shallow gameplay is just a really bad take. GoW has some of the most impactful, explosive, kinetic and badass gameplay of any game I've played in recent years

Ragnarok is the standard, single player experience and video game design perfected.
Elden Ring redefined what an open-world RPG game should be.
Ragnarok is the best of the traditional style of game design, whereas Elden Ring reshaped an entire genre for years to come.

If anything, it reminded people of how open world games used to be especially the NES/SNES era standard of JRPGs where you have to LEARN and REMEMBER where to go and what to see to trigger the next set of events. That's what Elden Ring has in common with Metal Max and the Romancing SaGa series.

Look, I would have been happy with either game winning GotY. But saying GoW Ragnarok got robbed shows a lack of appreciation for how spectacular a game Elden Ring is.
