Shooter was my first introduction to Pena, End of Watch was another incredible performance. Narcos Mexico is worth a mention, Pena stole the show. Underrated actor.
Yeah I keep hoping that Amazon will go through with keep going with the Rainbow Six storyline they started in Without Remorse. Because Michael B Jordan killed it as Clark and Michael Peña killed it as Chavez, so they have no reason not to keep going with this.

Post “Clear and Present Danger”, I always wondered how and when Domingo Chavez would appear in the revised version of Jack Ryan. He came back as a hard as nails, no nonsense, cold mean SOB! Brilliantly played by the stellar Michael Peña!

I think i loved clear and present danger so much because one of the early scenes was when they recruited chavez from his platoon. ding was in the 7th lid. there was something about that early clancy writing that was amazing. for some reason anything after 'the sum of all fears' was inferior.

I remember reading Tom Clancy's novels back in university several years ago and whenever I got to the parts with Ding Chavez, I would usually imagine the character to be played by Michael Pena.
Chavez is a really good character. Somehow however we lost the greatest most awesome character in all of literature: John Clark. That he began as John Kelly and was reborn- literally born again when he surfaced from drowning - as John Clark makes for a character unlike any other. Maybe some day they will make Without Remorse, and if they do it right then the world will see... Snake.
So nonchalant. He doesn’t yell, he doesn’t even sound bothered, he’s just matter-of-fact. Like he’s just telling you he can grab milk on the way home from work, lol.

They'd need an HBO series or something to give it the proper detail and content. Plus, To do it justice they'd need operator consultants from Tier 1 teams like DevGru, CAG, and SAS, because that's Rainbow. I don't know how faithfully they'd be able to do that, ya know?

Prime Video has all the material needed to make great series ready. They just need to choose which book from the various Tom Clancy books they will adapt.
