I had an awesome 1.5 years living in Alice for work. I had no negative experiences at all. its an incredibly rugged and wildwest little town with friendly locals everywhere. the worst thing was after it rains insects burrow up out of the ground in all directions. I hate insects. The other wildlife such as eagles, kites, lizards are in abundance and part of the daily life. love this town.
Hey from the states, I’ve always wanted to see the outback, but when I look up maps it seems all the roads are on the coast. Is it possible to drive straight through the middle of the country? I understand dirt roads and what not, I live in a place with dirt roads too
@@V8trickshot Yes it is possible. But from East to the middle and then west you are going to need one very good 4WD and plenty of supplies. The 1500km drive to the red centre will be all dirt roads and mostly in desert conditions.
Oh crap... LOL. How did we miss that? Thanks for catching it. When we create map graphics for our vids we always use a basemap so we have a solid degree of geographic accuracy. Something obviously went awry here.
I'm in Los Angeles and around 12-15 years ago I use to watch a webcam for some restaurant that I can't remember the name of from Alice Springs, it was pretty interesting if not crazy boring for some, but I got to see what I think were probably people passing through, and lots of beer served! lol🍻 I looked it up on a map and it looked like one road through a teeny town (if I remember right).
4:15 Actually, since the surface is flat at the bottom and curved at the top, is the air at the top that hast to go faster, since both the top and bottom of the boomerang move at the same speed through the air, but the air at the top has more surface to traverse. Faster air, like the one at the top, produces less pressure (that's called the Bernoulli's principle) than the slower air at the bottom and that's what produces de lift.
What can i say?... theres a good honest working population here... lots of jobs in window replacement, security, police, corrections, welfare. We have it all.
I was curious if there was much going on in the middle part of Australia so I went on google maps and zoomed in to the middle of Australia and I discover ‘Alice Springs’ so then I hop on youtube and search ‘middle of Australia’ and boom a video about Alice Springs. I wonder if the price of goods there is higher as It must be a pain to Fly in or Truck in goods for stores or groceries
I am a local from Alice, was here when there was hardly no one living here and it was absolutely beautiful. It was when the Government introduced the intervention, Alice has now changed a lot. We have beautiful scenery, but yes you can't do the things we could do 10 to 20 years ago and that's really sad. I love my home town, it's just other people from surrounding communities ruin it for everyone else. Right now we have the Masters games, so town is booming and Partjima light festival was absolutely amazing. So if you do come to Alice just be careful at night, and never walk on your own but enjoy it.
I don't know what you're on about. I've walked home after dark by myself and I have to go through where the Gap is (near the hospital and on the way into town) Not had a problem apart from gin's being gin's. Been here since 2009 and made a lot of friends even gin's.
Loved alice until my van was smashed up and broken into whilst I was sleeping. The next day we got the hell out of there. The cops were nice enough though
All the flowery prose aside, a little thin on the simmering rage that exists between many residents of Alice and the original inhabitants, but that would get in the way of your narrative wouldn't it?
Is this some kind of wind up? 2:45 You’ve got Sydney on the central coast of Queensland, Uluru just across the border into Western Australia and Alice in central NT. WTF?
Darwin all the way! 👍👍👌Amazing weather, very humid, tropical, nice restaurant & food, beautiful beaches... Alice is too hot and dry. Damn my ass almost melted when I visited Uluru in April 🔥🔥🔥🔥And one more thing, black Indigenous in central Australia need to have SERIOUS relationship with water and soap😷 I'm not even joking!!! It's pretty bad. 😵🤒
Watchu talkin 'bout, the humidity in Darwin is so overwhelming. I personally much prefer the dry heat in Alice, that's what I've grown up with and find it so nuch more bearable.

Did you stay indoors the whole time?Thats the only way you can prevent getting broken into

You do realise Sydney is 1700 kilometres south of where you've put in on your map right? I should know - I live there. Not even in the right state!

We forgive you! Lol.
Deb you can’t re-edit a video.
They put Sydney in Rockhampton! wow!

The town sucks mate. It's over. Nothing but hips and wags now. Can't even get a decent pint.

@Benny Bamshoot a gin's a native or aboriginal. Yo I used to live in Basildon but then I moved to Paris before coming here.

2:45 mate sydney is at least 3 THOUSAND kilometres south of there, wouldn't be hard to do a little research
Richard "Bloody" Bangs! 👍
OMG Sydney is apparently up on the north coast above Townsville ? .. Sydney is in a different state . New South Wales ... not . Queensland
don't worry, people often mistake Auntie Midred's house for Sydney.
Nicely done!
0:18, been there, done that.
Alice Springs have some of the best bikie p and prosies around.
I've wanted to move here for so long but i don't have the money to do so...

Why would anyone wanna move to Alice springs? I’m genuinely confused!
@@Mae-oi1mz To get away from people
So has anyone started a forest grove of any kind yet in an otherwise void wasteland.?
yeah i'm sure the indigenous people worked out the "air pressure" on their stick:)

There's only about 3 in Alice Springs on a yearly basis.
Well, that's two more than the minimum requirement
Great

Sick of all the art. It’s dot to dot shit.

They care more about dingos than people mate. Fuck this place.
Nice to see this kind of nonsense attitude it not just reserved for the USA.
