Crazy how Angstrom turned the only good Mark into a killer.

Like the Maulers said, he was supposed to compartmentalize the memories, but the machine broke and he didn't. So he has multiple lifetimes worth of memories of being abused by Mark. Its become a grudge so deep that its irrational. Debbie made him doubt, which gave him reason to pause. But then she provoked him rather than appeal to his better nature, causing him to lash out at being compared to the greatest monster he knew over several lifetimes. She did really well for someone without training to handle these situations.

Of all the Marks Angstrom could’ve tormented… he picked the one Mark who literally did NOTHING wrong.

This world's mark is able to be reasoned with and values lives if there was a option for mark to kill him or imprison him without being harmed mark would try to save him and reform him. Most other marks would immediately kill him without trying to hurt Debbie or if she got caught in the cross fire blame him for making him kill her.

I haven't reacted to the brutality too much since season 1 beginning and ending. This is the only scene where I can't bare to watch, Debbie went through so much and then that.
Angstrom was a rabid dog and had to be put down.
"it might seem crazy what I'm bouta say"
Exactly why of all the villains in the comics, Angstrom was the one considered Invincibles archnemisis
Me too. I had a viceral reaction. The scene with her and Mark after broke me too. Good writing!
You are so a 100% right!
Domestic violence is bone chilling
Angstrom knew if he went to any other universe & attacked Debbie there, Nolan or Mark woulda killed him in milliseconds for just being in the same room so he attacks the 1 Debbie who didn't have anyone to defend her. Petty & a coward
Omg I just said this! I hate villains that attack the defenseless. Absolute coward!
Not to mention that Angstrom suffers from massive tunnel vision on account of all that head trauma he's going through. Man is to far gone to see the error of his motivation. He's really sad, but damnable at the same time.
I'm not going to judge a guy too hard that has several hundred versions of his own memory telling him what to do.
It's truly pathetic.
But that shows exactly what bad people are truly like.
They're petty cowards who will only try to attack and hurt those weaker than them because they can't stand a "fair fight" as it were. All to boost their fragile egos when you stop and think about it.
@chubbyninja89 every time I see a villain be an asshole because they have an inferiority complex I keep thinking how it all could've been avoided with some therapy in their informative years.
Take the Riddler for instance, if he didn't need external validation and had more self worth, he won't need to prove his intelligence to anyone.
That's why I enjoy villains who are more goal oriented, simply greedy or have a legitimate reasons to seek vengeance on someone.
0:08 this is such an important line. A lot people theorized what stopped mark from joining his father was the pet line or Debbie being dead, but it was actually Debbie just being a good person.
the irony is to become what you've hated the most.
That's what I've been thinking angstroms actions were just like the evil marks 😕
Debbie was such a great character in this season, seeing her go from being completely broken after Season 1 to finding new purpose as Mark and Oliver's mother, even standing up to a man far stronger than she is because he threatened her boys, was so satisfying.
"I'm trying to save the World!"
*Almost tears a woman's arm off and throwing her baby around*
"Yeah, you really are helping a lot of people there, Levy."
I don't think Mark is the monster in this situation
He’s not, Angstrom’s brain got scrambled by the machine to where he thinks all the terrible things alternate Marks did to him in his family happened to him personally
Levy did this to himself and he can’t see he’s hurting the one good invincible in the multiverse.

“I am not the villain!”
Dude, you’re literally trying to take pure bloodthirsty vengeance on Mark and his family
"I am not the villain" says the man who becomes everything he says Mark is. 😢
Yep 😕
Projection, much?
Exactly
If Omni-Man had replaced Mark during this scene. Angstrom will then realise Mark is nowhere near as dangerous his pops.
It makes zero sense that he only hates mark.
Yeah if anything, Angstrom should have beef with Nolan as well
Nope.
If Omni-Man was still around he would have gone after him too. But Nolan is far from Earth so all he has is Mark. Plus, Mark is still the one he blames solely for his transformation, not Nolan.
"Is this universe's Nolan a risk taker?"
Omni Man: _instantaneously eviscerates Angstrom into a pool of smattered guts_ There was never any risk.
the worst part is angstrom has seen multiple people die but instead of killing all the bad ones he decided to go after the one who was actually good he gave in to being broken by not one but infinite tragedies
Man, it's hardly the worst part about this whole situation from Mark's perspective, but imagine finding out that, in the entire multiverse, you--with all of your mistakes and imperfections and misgivings--are not only the best version of yourself but a completely unique fluke. That the other versions of you are all evil to varying degrees, because the good ones all inevitably die. And yet you're still there, by blind luck, because you said exactly the right thing at exactly the right time in a near death situation. So you're not evwn really the best version of yourself, you're just the best version that's still around. The one drop who got through the filter. Like a C student who somehow got into an Ivy League College. The pressure to try and be as good as you can to make it matter would just be... so overwhelming.
Interesting take... surprised more folk don't pick up on this.
I suppose it's survivorship bias. People think all Marks are evil because the good ones get killed off. But if you run the numbers enough times in an infinite multiverse there's eventually going to be just the right sequence of events for Nolan to abandon his post instead of killing Mark when he rebels.
@@wafflingmean4477 Exactly
That's arbitrarily pessimistic framing. You could just as well feel relieved knowing, as the one drop who got through, that critical filter's behind you. Or figure that, having already achieved an almost infinitely (literally) impossible feat of heroism in the service of Earth, you don't have to prove yourself to anyone.
Something about Debbie getting physically hurt is unbearable to me.
Woman undeservedly getting hurt = Monkey brain says that's a big no-no.
Angstrom: "I'm...not...the VILLAIN!!!"

He has no right to blame Mark or Debbie for things that their alternate selves did in other dimensions!!
Remember his copies of himself are sharing the same brain. He’s now mentally unstable

Sterling Brown absolutely killed this role. Some of my favorite voice acting in this show and that’s saying something because everyone is fantastic in this show.
Imagine if Omni man found out what angstrom did to Debbie and Oliver
Then the beatdown he would have given to angstrom will make mark's rage look like a love tap
Omniman: *Feeds angstrom his own brain*
Would he make it quick? Or really take his time?
He's a cold blooded killer for sure, but is he really a sadist?
You might think he is, but he's killed out of need and lack of empathy. I'm genuinely curious if I'm forgetting any moments he's purposely drawn out the death.
Oh, wait, there's Donald.
Mark turned his face into liquid.
Omni Man would have turned his face into plasma.
Nolan would have dodged his portals with that classic cold-flexing of his, then he had squeezed his rotten brain on the ground.
"I AM NOT THE VILLIAN" He says as he breaks her arm and threatens to kill a bay
“I’m not the villain!”
He says before nearly breaking off her entire arm
Meanwhile, in space, Nolan the Viltrumite traitor feels a deep rage he can't understand. He hopes to find the source, but for now, his body heals...
He was about to beat Debbie to death with her own foster son
How do you know that?
Angstrom “I’m the good guy”
The man ready to kill a baby
Okay but can we talk about how after getting slammed into glass table, then getting an open fracture in her arm and going into shock, all Debbie thinks about is trying to comfort Oliver as he's crying? That woman is a saint.
the way i gasped when he broke her arm.
Crazy how this is so much more brutal than season 1's finale. Sure, there was more destruction on a bigger scale and more lives lost, but this is so much more personal and painful because we know these characters. It makes it hurt that much more.
If Nolan was there he would annihilate Angstrom Levy the blink of an eye.
Agreed
"No one threatens my pet! No one threatens my son! And no one threatens the son I conceived with a giant space bug!"
"OK....... maybe Levy's multiple schizo personalities will make him see the error of his own ways as Debbie does some much needed talking-no-jutsu to his face and this can stop before it gets ugly-"
*[he breaks her arm]*
PEACE WAS NEVER AN OPTION
Then he messed with the purple baby. Nobody messes with the purple baby...
roasting the villian into submission isnt gonna work unless its pennywise
Angstrom basically went 'I AM THE GOOD GUY HERE AND TO PROVE IT I'LL RIP YOU APART AND SMASH THIS TODDLER AGAINST THE GROUND!!!' here
"I am not the villain!"
-The Villain
Arm break was gruesome compare to seeing a body explode to piece
Angstrom Levy makes me think in Mojo Jojo of Powerpuff girls, as both had an accident that leaves them with an enlarged brain, adding that both irrationally blamed the heroes from their situations as villains.
After Angstrom broke Debbie’s arm I said “oh, you are so dead”
He became the very thing he swore to destroy
Yep. Just like Belos from The Owl House.
Am I the only one who thought Angstrom was about to start beating Debbie with the baby?
No you’re not only one beating it with a baby is messed up
I'm ashamed to say the sheer absurdity of this mental image made me laugh so hard....
“In so many other dimensions, you join your husband and son when they slaughter millions”
Ok I’m calling bullshit on that due to the simple fact that from what we’ve seen of all these other alternate dimensions, Debbie is NOWHERE to be found. I can only assume that all the other evil Marks and Omnimen killed her shortly before they take over
I mean she doesn't have powers like those two do so she probably somewhere safe while they do there things
In the comics the alternate marks talked about hating their house because they killed debbie there
I’m more intrigued by this angstrom than the comic version, like you can see the pure insanity in his eyes due to the infinite fractured minds merging
If Nolan was there right now and saw this. Oh man… the guy would lose it!
Debbie is one of my favorite characters in invincible. This scene actually made me yell out loud! 😮
"You're the bad guy here!"
"Oh yeah? Would a bad guy do THIS?!"
*SNAP*
"AAAGH! YES!!"
"Yeah, look at how heroic I am!"
*Threatens a 1 year old baby*
"That's...that's what heroes do, right?"
Her arm is in pieces and she still tries to be there for the baby. As Angstrom accidentally revealed, our Debbie was built different.
Debbie is the boss in this scene
She got my full respect ngl
"i'm not the bad guy" the man said dangling a baby from its legs
To me some of the most interesting details are that most of the other Debbies that Angstrom knows of in the multiverse supported Omni-Man and Invincible's conquest of Earth. And he had never encountered a variant of Oliver. Maybe people have been looking at the wrong member of the family.
I know it's the whole nature vs nurture argument, but if a good Debbie is as rare as a good Mark, then it seems like she's the deciding factor, not him. She raised Mark to be a good person, while the others encouraged him to support his father no matter what, or got so scared of viltrimite retribution that they told their versions of Mark to just do whatever the viltrimites asked him to do to keep as many safe as possible. And so if this is the only universe Angstrom's been to where Mark tried to stop viltrimite takeover, then it makes sense that Oliver only exists in this universe too. If Oliver is an unprecedented being on a multiversal scale, maybe that'll come in handy somehow?
Soo was Angstrom really jealous or was he paranoid of Mark turning evil?
Paranoia. His mind is completely scrambled by the memories and trauma of all his other counterparts who had encountered evil versions of Invincible
Because in his world, Mark was pure evil like Omni man. However, he revenge in the world which Mark never become evil
Every memory of his other selves are present in his mind as though they were his own. Not only was Mark a monster in 99.9% of other worlds, Debbie is also presumably staying with Nolan and condoning his actions in most others as well.
However, this specific Angstrom hasn't lived through any of these himself, and as he's fighting and torturing Debbie he's lying to himself and twisting an objective truth to justify his delusional rampage.
He's a madman, a tragic madman, but a madman nonetheless.
@@Nexter-Lie He was delusional from the very beginning. Put plainly, the sanity of one who truly believes one could make a perfect world without killing anyone at all is ALWAYS called into question. Angstrom is literally a multiverse level intellect, but he has the perception of a 5 year old. Intelligence in and of itself is often overestimated, which might be another factor into Angstrom's delusion. All the accident did was reveal how divorced from reality Angstrom was all along.
@Ninja07Keaton I a sense the same would apply to Mark and his no kill rule. Ig in the end Levy getting destroyed by Invincible prevented Mark from taking the same route as him
Angstrom levy in the comic : I am gonna kill invincible because he makes me look ugly 🤬
Angstrom levy in the show : my son , my wife, my friends, my city , everything I love and care about it’s gone because of him, I’ll make him suffer I’ll make him pay
I WILL DO ANYTHING TO DESTROY “ invincible Title card”
Man those memories are really messing him up
Angstrom is just lucky Nolan wasn’t there…
That angstrom really burns my biscuits he broke Debbie's left arm and then threaten a helpless baby by lifting him upside down, angstrom's role was taken seriously even me I'm disgusted at him!!!!😡😡😡😡😡😡
Its so nice how she talks about Mark as her son and how he's the one brave enough to defy his father and keep saving the planet
The way the play the invincible theme in the background while she says it makes it soo much better
I released an audible gasp when this happened
With the way Angstrom was holding Oliver by the leg towards the end, I thought he was gonna use him to beat Debbie over the head

Proceeds to break her arm and talk about inflicting hurt.
