Montauk Point Lighthouse - REVETMENT UPDATE - Start To Finish "Morph" Effect

- The Revetment Stabilization Project at Montauk Point has come to a conclusion. With crews packing up and leaving town, things are beginning to return to "normal" after the last 2 years of thundering loads of tons and tons of rocks being dumped from one 18-wheeler after another, only to then be shuffled around and then dropped again into final position. Needless to say there was LOTS of noise and activity on a daily basis. Often times you could literally feel the ground shaking under your feet as boulders weighing up to 25 TONS slammed into the earth.
During the span of the project, an automated GPS-guided flight track system was used to fly the drone and record video repeatedly over the same flight path, exactly, time and time again. The final video is a compilation of nine (9) different videos recorded on different dates. The editing was done to try to highlight the enormous amount of work that went into the new revetment structure as well as its colossal scale and absolute solidity!
Thanks to the outstanding dedication, skills and extraordinary work performed by everyone involved on the project, it now promises to keep the Montauk Point Lighthouse safe from erosion for MANY, MANY decades to come!

We just got back from Montauk but the new abutments/ stones is still closed. When will it open again. BTW, awesome videos.

According to someone from the Army Corp. there are still a few minor safety concerns that are being addressed before the revetment is opened to the public. But it will NOT be long now... maybe within the next month as far as we understand.
