Allah( the God Almighty) said: *And know that the life of this world is but amusement and diversion and adornment and boasting to one another and competition in increase of wealth and children - like the example of spring after the rain, its vegetation pleases the Farmers; then it withers and you see it turning yellow; then it becomes dry chaff. And in the Hereafter is a severe punishment And forgiveness from Allah and approval. And the life of this world is not but the enjoyment of delusion.* (Qur'an)
The first stretch of scenery by car resembles the combination terrain of West Texas and the Sahara Desert; two places of which I have been to. Thank you for bringing history to life by not only telling us about the places and people, but showing us their settlements. Poblado De La Atalayita was intriguing to see. And, I've fallen in love with the quaint little town of Betancura! Thanks for this fabulous video!
Hiya. Beautiful video. It says a lot. If Carol says it is unique. You have been to some amazing beaches. The perfect spot to eat. A little pricey. Thank you for the lovely tour around. I am glad they moved you from the noise. Happy Weekend.
Thanks for sharing, I went on a family holiday here in 1997 when I was 15 years old. We stayed in Corralejo. I remember driving to Jandia and stopping by at at the capital too on the way back I think. Was a great holiday, one of my favourite family holidays.
Hi guys, just to remind you that July and August are the windiest months of the year. From the end of August to December there is not much wind being October the hottest month because of lack of wind. Hope you enjoyed all the same though 👍
@@RyanandSaz-TravelLife Yes but not for 365 days a year. And just as well we have the wind because without it would be like being in the Sahara desert, especially in July and August. The wind is like a natural air conditioning. Anyway, I know the island is not for everybody, which is good otherwise it would be too crowded.
@@aralsea5880This wind, called "Alicio" is very important, specially for the highest islands, as it normally condensates when climbing the mountains and leaves moisture on the vegetation and replenish the underground water levels.
Ah I'm so excited you guys visited fuerteventura. Betancuria is beautiful. We are regulars to fuerteventura and usually base ourselves in caleta de fuste. We thoroughly recommend castillo playa bungalows. Wejust love this island particularly Oct to March. Popcorn beach and lobo island are day trips.
That Betancuria looked lovely, and the vibe is more to my liking. And you may know being in the So Cal desert, I have a love of the dry desert landscape. Thanks for going to an island most folks never visit ! 🌴🌵👋🏻
Fuerteventura has the best beaches! And the fresh seafood there was outstanding. I've been twice; stayed in the north in Corralejo, which is a cute little tourist town. There are sand dunes there as well (Corralejo Dunes). But my favorite beach was not far from there, El Cotillo. Small and beautiful with little curved rock formations that blocked the wind for sunbathing.
Fuerteventura to my opinion is the most beautiful of the Canary Islands, less tourism, probably because of the strong winds, but the landscapes are amazing, bare vulcanic what gives you a good insight on how these islands got formed. The roads are in superb condition, roadtours are the thing to do. Prizes however are over the top these days, became a lot more expensive, especially when you come during summertime. The stone walls with small pits you will see all around are to grow crops out of the wind, they would not survive these strong winds. White houses of course as you see in most hot countries to keep the warmth out as it reflects the sun. Tenerife and Gran Canaria tend to attract a lot more tourists (mainly from UK) , empty beaches like on Fuerteventura are a rare sight on these islands. A good alternative would be Portugal ( & islands) , they have similar landscapes but less windy and the prizes are so much more plesant :-)
I liked the desert feel of the landscape!😊Listening to the sound of the sea wawes, sitting on the sand dunes and having the wind in your hair must have been an experience.Fuerteventura seems like a peaceful place to relax.Enjoy!👍
Congratulations to you guys to heads @ this beautiful Canary Islands, Spain this weekend in great joy to tours @ these amazing beaches & other great places in August of 2024❤❤❤
Love this island, so glad you two finally got there, some breathtaking landscapes , take a drive down the Av. Corralejo Grandes Playas, a lovely highway throught he samd dunes, also you must visit Cofete, a tricky road but well worth it for the views at Mirador de Cofete, got to be one of the best views on the island, also a nice place to eat down there, Enjoy the Canaries Chris & Carol 😎
This island is def my speed, the resort at the end of seems like a perfect get away. I stayed in correlejo 25 years ago, and even back then it seemed much busier than where you are. Look forward to seeing your next one!
Love Fuerteventura, Betancuria is lovely, also like Pajara. Swimming in Morro Jable always my treat ( they also have a nice market and ice cream shop 😊 ) Enjoy your stay 😁
If you are still in Fuerteventura - I highly recommend you go to Popcorn Beach - it really looks like popcorn and is something that I have never seen before. When we went, there was a very basic restaurant that only served fish and salad - delicious
The word "siesta" comes from the Latin word sexta, which means "the 6th hour after dawn". Today, the siesta is more common in the summer months, and some say it's an extended lunch hour that many Spaniards take at the same time. Before the 1960s, when Spain's economy was mainly agricultural, farmers would take a break around noon to avoid the hottest part of the day and work longer hours when it was cooler. After the Spanish Civil War, when the economy was struggling, city workers who held multiple part-time jobs needed a long break to commute between them. The commercial schedule at the time, from 9 AM-2 PM and 5-8 PM and that’s what we see today as the reflection of the siesta time this routine.

Hi, I've just subscribed to your channel. I really hope you go to Madeira, not too far away from The Canary Islands. Fuerteventura looks similar to Porto Santo, Madeira's sister Islands
Back in the later Eighties my friend took me for a drive around Mt Tiede and the desert side ascent was ok but the drive back to Los Cristianos the fertile side was nothing less than terryfying, the roads zigged zagged at a fairly steep angle and there were no bollards on the roads with a sheer drop of thousands of feet down and going upwards at an angle when you came to the end to u-turn upwards there was nothing in front of you and nothing by your side.............never again lol.
Hey Chris and Carol how are you? Sorry it’s been so long since I’ve chimed in. I’ve fallen behind on your Vlogs and I will catch up! I still regard your Iceland trip as one of my favorite trips. But I just saw the news out of Iceland. One of the ice caves collapsed. Thought that might interest you guys. Unfortunately there was one tourist fatality. I hope you guys are doing well, and I will catch up on your Vlogs soon! Rich
Wow! I’m hanging in there from New Jersey. I thought it would be important to see this because obviously you guys travel so much! Always be safe in your travels!

Another lovely video , keep them coming!
Very windy and very barren island volcanic
In Italy, the month of August, our workers take a vacation and everything just about closes
Love the places you show 👍🙂
The grape vineyards are interesting they plant the grape vine in ground & pile rocks around them to protect them from the strong winds
Reminds me of the beaches close to Sao Luis, Brazil with all the wind.
Really nice places in the middle of such waste land. How surprising. Stay safe.
🍎🍉🍓
It's not a wasteland! It's a desert and filled with volcanic rock and fascinating history.

Siesta in Italy is when the workers go home and spend time with her families and then go back and open their business
Same as in Spain 🇪🇸
You could be in parts of Baja California.
FUERTEVENTURA 🇪🇸 BEAUTIFUL CANARY ISLANDS
I'm surprised its not hotter there. Is the water cold? Carole didn't seem eager to swim haha.
Yes being surrounded by water does a lot to modify the air temperature
nice, but Costa Blanca offers more )
