As a thirty year old, I remember when the future was supposed to be bright and colorful, before it got all dark and dismal. I remember when best friends were forever, and television was always entertaining, and video games always got better, until it all was not. I remember when we all were present, in the moment, aware of what others thought. Even those who rebelled at least knew what they were rebelling against, and others made it where the rebelling didn't go too far.
We wanted the future so badly that we brought it to the present, so that once the future got here there was nothing left to strive for.

+Nocturus game companies are free to ship and sell broken, unfinished products and theyre protected under law, given license to do this. Its acceptable with games but nothing else. I wouldnt want a toaster and have to wait for it to ship in parts to experience toast. Pedro Depine If you're mad about Undertale because it received an award where it beat Legend of Zelda Ocarina of TIme for best game of all time, I feel your pain. Although I enjoy Undertale, I however don't really considered the game to be a superior game than a game title that's marked the first 3D platform game in its franchise.

I read an interesting article that said that millennials are a a more nostalgic generation than previous ones because technology and pop culture is moving faster than it ever has before. As a result, our childhood feels further away than it really was, because things are SO different.

As someone who was from this time, imagine growing up and you knew everything was going to always going to be fine and that your future isn't just secured but it's going to be more fun than you can imagine. Now imagine having all of that ripped away with no hope of it coming back for the course of 20 years and that's why all us millenials always annoyingly obbsess over the '90s. With hindsight it was a rather lackluster time but goryhell it was filled with so much optimism that you couldn't believe.

Ironic. I watched this when it first came out, and I would bawl my eyes out. I identified with this song SO much.
But now, years later, even when trying, I can’t identify with it. I experienced nearly all of the nostalgic stuff shown here, but I don’t get that same existential depression when viewing this like I used to.
As I got older, and my son was born, I haven’t really been tethered to nostalgia of days past. I think what I missed was the EXISTENCE of that innocence rather than me being in that time again. I see my son so happy playing Mario kart or just being in his room, playing with his toys, or watching tv, not having to worry about shit, just being a kid. And that makes me so happy. I can’t go back to that simpler time. But I get to see my son enjoy that time. And on the days I can, I’ll just spend time with him. I’ll show him some cool stuff or play some games with him, and even though I’m not back in that time, knowing I’m making those same happy memories for my son makes me happier than I would ever be going back in time.

Snivy036 I disagree, Gold/Silver bored me to death, they're the only games I have never completed the pokédexs for... and I've played every generation of the game. My personal favourites are Ruby/Sapphire simply because there is so much to do after completing the Elite 4 instead of doing exactly the same all over again... plus a lot of people's favourite pokémon & game mechanics come from Gen3.
