Genshin is a game that is more catered to casuals, the total opposite of zzz, it makes no sense to put a dificult enemy on a battle that is a "must do" to be able to progress
but different enemy. last enemy/boss use to be electro cube and there aren't those tall hilichurl. but i think the new version is better

Leyline drops not increasing is so disappointing. We've hand the same drop rate since world level 5.
But the monster drops increase
I'm WL5 and I didn't know that. Guess I'll just stay at WL5, going any higher sounds like a scam.

@@PiousMoltar No, you want to ascend. All of your other drops will go up, particularly regular monster drops. World boss drops going up, especially in the new level 9, are huge for leveling new characters in a timely fashion.
You will also, over time, outgrow the need for leylines. As long as you're not wishing for and building every single character in the game, your need for mora and xp books will decrease the more you play. The more characters you have built, the less you need to build new characters, and therefore the more resources you save from patch to patch.
I started in 2.0, and it's been nearly two years since I've farmed leylines. And I only needed them for as long as I did because I'm a dolphin who was getting and building multiple characters per patch for my first year. Now that I'm not wishing every patch, I have more resources than I can possibly use.

If they even try to increase the artifact domain difficulty, I expect an increase in drop rate as well.

They really nerfed the ascension domain so much!! I remember the ruin guard in the beginning and 2 cryo shooter hilichurls on those pillars that would shoot you as you glided past to the hydro abyss mage, who as long as you got the shield down you could just kinda knock into the water to drown. And the fatui agents!! They got rid of all those??

No increase to leylines drop is an absolute robbery!
Sure 3 boss mats is very resin efficient, saving about 280 resin for all 46 boss drops which is really good. But man I was hoping for leylines to be better too
Level 7 to 8 is more resin efficient than that but I guess wl9 is just made for old players to feel more of a challenge
Anyway, it was needed so it's good overall

you're wrong, it only saves 120 resin on average, not 280. That's less than 1 day worth of resin per character, it's extremely negligible.

Increased world level should really come hand in hand with increased character level/skill caps. Why no option to level characters up to 100 and skills up to 12?
Level 80 characters already melt the new level 100+ enemies in the overworld
@@Bakashi Depends how they are geared. But overworld enemies are on the weaker side, yes.
But I'm guessing that with the increased world level, we'll also be getting new weekly boss difficulties, and level 80 characters do NOT melt some of the weekly bosses unless they are very well geared. Typically, an increase in world level should always be matched by an increase in character level caps... otherwise the asymmetrical levels feel weird.
I feel like it’s not really needed? Most of my characters are lvl 80 and I don’t really notice that much of a difference with world lvl 9. It does take a few hits more or smth, but not enough for me to notice much and when I do notice, I find it nice when it takes more than one rotation of my characters to kill the overworld monster. And most of my 5 star characters are c0. Ofc the bosses take a bit more, but isn’t it what players have been asking for? Harder bosses and monsters. If you then raise the level of the characters and their talents, you suddenly lose that extra bit of difficulty that so many people have been waiting for.
because this is pushing the ''endgame'' players to less of a standpoint, this would be really awful if u know how many characters ppl have raised over the years and the amount of discomfort people would go through having to now level all those things ''again'' even after they were done/maximized, imo character lvl and skills should never move

I'm not sure I really see the benefit of World Level 9 atm, outside of the huge HP inflation for longer fights. I feel like boss rewards should've been upped to a guaranteed 4 drops with the potential for 5 at the very least.
Biggest difference is probably in the amount of drops regular enemies give, as they demonstrated in the livestream, which will speed up the grind when farming certain mats for character ascensions and talent levels.
Also I guess just making the general overworld exploration experience a little bit less of a snoozefest in terms of challenge when playing.
All overworld enemies also drop more.

Coming from a lore and exploration player this is a HUGE upgrade for me!! Exploration is my favorite thing to do in Genshin (Sumeru Desert is my ultimate favorite place lol) but as someone with cracked units it becomes super stale and boring to just… kill everything in seconds, thus having a potentially “harder” time will greatly increase the fun of it😊
crazy how now over world bosses outscale abyss 12-3 mobs at lvl 100. So floor 13 might drop as well😮

I mean if you look closely before there were only up to flr 8 then half of it where added and now up to flr 12

Sadly they still do. I had to stop hitting and wait for Natlan bird boss to get its shield so I complete the graffiti mission. I had no idea it has a shield until I read it in the quest.

Domains have their own level system, you select it when you start one. I think its based on AR rank, so thats what we need to wait on
i think they are based on world level. when you hit ar 45, you cant do lvl 90 domains until you complete the ascension quest. at least thats what it was like 2+ years ago when i tried to do that on an alt

This is probably the first step toward the level 100 cap. Ley Lines will likely go up next followed by domains to facilitate the exponential increase in resources needed to raise characters/weapons, but all of that needs a new world level, so here we are.
But then we get 10 level world. This level is ideal for strong team, only legends are hard

At least the material drops in the world boss have increased so it's easier to level your character to LV 90👋

The low chance of 4 doesn't even really matter that much, compared to the guaranteed 3... now you'll know exactly how much resin it'll take to up a character.

not increasing ley lines feels kinda cheap, like the only actual reward is the boss drops, the faster gathering of enemy drops is kinda useful but I doubt it scales significantly enough to make it not an annoyance

Hot take: I would love if you could farm artifacts with Leylines instead of Artifact Domains. Roaming the map from Leyline to Leyline is actually Genshin combat at its finest compared to repeating the same 30s (maybe 40s now) of a cycle over and over forever.
There's lots of ways they could do it, they won't, but I'd actually start farming again if they did.

Ran into a triple legend (top left corner of the map, above the boss) with my lvl60 Mualani, lvl60 Kachina and Furina + Baizhu. Spent 15 minutes on Furina + Baizhu circling them until they slowly died😅

Genshin has a problem where once youre strong enough, you can brute force your way through any enemy. It doesn’t even matter to learn the enemy’s kit. In star rail you need a lot more strategy and even if your characters are strong, if they arent compatible with the enemy they will 100% lose.

E6s5 acheron, e6s5 Guin, e6s5 swan and an Adventurine tossed in. I have autoed everything for 6 months now...hsr is boring.
Good for boss drops but disappointing that the leylines don't improve, and that there's no new levels for domains. If regular enemy drops are increased then it would be worthwhile. I suppose they've done the bare minimum to make boss farming less tedious and stop enemies from dying when a breeze passes them, but without changing the resin economy for most things. I wonder how it affects the Wolf boss.
The first thing I noticed when he open the Sumeru map was the quest notice at the crossroads west of Gangharva Ville and my first thought was “DONT”.

The problem is that the Local Legends and Night challenges get significantly more difficult and the achievements don't care what world level you do them on...
Like one of the achievements requires you to kill the turtle thing before it deploys it's thunder armour thing... That is what 2+ million damage in a few seconds...

I think it's supposed to be 1/100 runs but I've only ever seen it twice I think. Every 20 resin has a 10% chance to drop 2 artifacts, and if u spend a condensed you have 2 chances of 10% which should be 1% chance. World level won't affect that though.

Its a shame that leylines, artifact domains and talent domains dont increase.
I mean...not to sound like a whiner, but while the increase in mob/boss drops is nice...it just feels like they turned the overworld more into bullet sponge territory - a classic artificial difficulty spike
It's not that the mobs are any harder than they were before - they're just gonna take a little longer to kill, which still doesn't make up for the fact that they're all still fairly easy to fight
I mean, just look at how he still took half of the lv103 robo chicken's hp within a few seconds of saying "look how much tankier it is" while not needing to change how he approached the fight at all
There's no actual challenge, especially if your characters are already well-built & you can pass things like Abyss floor 12 & the later stages of the Imaginarium (both of which suffer the same issue of enemies just being bullet sponges, but with a timer/objective attached)
Would be nice if they could spice up the actual combat, though I'm not sure how they'd do it without screwing over the newbies or pissing off the veterans
I don’t think that’s whining at all: I find them bullet sponge as well. I just find I need 1 or 2 more bursts to kill the enemies, but no new mechanics.
I think Genshin should have gone with a custom challenge mode instead, like Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis (NGS) had. (That game as a whole isn’t great in my opinion, but challenge selectors was.)
In that game, you select buffs to the enemy or debuffs to you, and depending on how many of those you select, you get better drops. You could also change or reset the challenges any time you want, so if you are tired and just want to complete a weekly for battle pass by smashing your face on your keyboard, turn all the challenges off.
- In NGS I usually picked healing debuff.
- For Genshin I would love to select 3x enemy attack frequency (but same damage) or 50% of enemies have their weapons upgraded to have more attack types, so that I can have a lot more fun with parry characters like Beidou and Candace.
Lets go world lvl 9, it's time to challenge some local legend fontaine 😅

Keep in mind that Arle and most other weekly bosses are in their own domains where you select the difficulty at the beginning. So you can always pick the difficulty you are used to 👍.
New world level doesn't increase domain levels like Arlecchino. But it does make overworld farming slightly more efficient.
domain related stuff are unaffected unless they release another level tier.
The main point about WL 9 is about exploration area dropping more material, so i think domain isn't affect that much
I suppose only the overworld Wolf boss is affected as you cannot select it's difficulty
If they up the boss difficulty it would be something to select and not something forced
We want our characters to be level 100 too with talent levels max at 15

"Reward drops upgraded" is a little over-exaggerated. (Edit) After giving it more thought, when ascending characters you save around two days of resin that can be used to get mora and exp, so it's a bitt better than is seems.

WL8 = 2.5~ boss mat per 40 resin = 736 total resin = 4.08 days worth of resin to max a character
WL9 = 3.2~ boss mat per 40 resin = 575 total resin = 3.19 days.
Just experience it for yourself when the update is out .
Yeah, no, you are bad at math or just actually haven't farmed or upgraded your chars to lvl 90. You don't know how massive is lvl 9 regarding drops.
@@Syokool I will be able to get through ascention more easely, but I"ll have no exp or mora to do a level up. I'd say it's ,at most, two days of resin less to ascend one character. Nothing more into it. I guess if don't spend resin on a boss, I can spend it on lay lines, than it's around 1 000 000 mora. Actually not too bad. Thanks.

About the part about mualani overkilling weaker enemies, you dont have to charfe three stacks. You can probably use her like yoi miya or wanderer: just turn the skill on and bite away... Or maybe fewer stack.

They already exist but you have to finish that regions sigil specialty. For example, in fontain it will unlock after you complete the fontain of lucine and inazuma will unlock after you complete the sakura tree, ect

Exploration just got sooooo much more painful. Especially local legends. There is a 24 hour cooldown after you switch world levels so you have to choose between innificiant boss farming and mat farming or extremely painful exploration
@@knight764 once u have abyss ready teams exploration would be snoozefest but slightly less snoozefest in this situation. Anyone who can even 6 star floor 12, overworld enemies are nothing to them
I hope we don't go to level 100 now, the overworld has been needing some challenge badly for quite a while, even if it is artificial with bloated numbers, I don't want enemies to die with a couple of skills before I can even throw an ult (for abyss is a different problem, it is timed stat check currently, we need a less timed SKILL check, like you lose if you take one hit too many and miss the dps windows but not because your artifact rng was bad for the dps race)
I'm looking forward for the world lvl9, but at the same time i feel weird knowing the biggest part for me in 5.0 is an increase in world level and not the actual new content itself
It actually makes my level 60 hyperbloom party not blindly destroy the overworld monsters.
Just increasing the hp of enemies does not mean more difficult it just means more grind and time consuming

About the boss drops, you will get more 4 if you beat the boss for the first time it will be just 3 no matter how much you beat it when u just teleport away then go back
The technique I use is to beat it in my world then beat on another world then go back beat it again and it is easy 12 drops, it is not guaranteed but the 4 drops will be higher probability if you do it

The fact that it requires Player Level 58 instead of 60 makes me think there's going to be a World Level 10, perhaps in the 6.x patches

WL9 enemies should have been same as Floor 11 in their stats. But maybe that's just me, i dislike how trivial wl8 is. Wl9 is only gonna be less trivial instead of actually being decent most likely

I’m so happy they didn’t match the boss droppings to the current ratio, because it would’ve felt just as bad to get 3 drops instead of 4, if the latter were more common. With these chances, it will feel like an unexpected surprise if you get 4 (comparable to getting 3 artifacts), but it won’t feel like you’re being cheated if you get 3 fives times in a row.

Okay can someone explain to me, what the F CK is the point of being able to go to level 100 and be in world level 9 if you’re gonna be grinding as much as you did to level up and shit when you wanted to get to lvl 90 and have world level 8?
Doesnt this just make the game much more grindy than it already is? Where are the upsides

Even from the video itself, the difference ain’t even that much. Considering we gain more drops from the mobs and the guaranteed 3 ascension material instead of 2-3 for me is worth it

At WL8, my Ning can wipe out most camps solo by herself in just one cycle of her E,Q,E, charged attack, and often just with that first E. No buffs, no geo resonance in effect, just a day 1 four star character that doesn't even have the new geo set yet. And that's pretty standard for the open world, that you don't even get to use a second character, let alone the 3rd or 4th, before the enemies are dead, if you have a mature account. So, yeah, it's the make the game slightly less trivial. Though given that 53% increase in effective HP, I'd like to see WL10 be something we can voluntarily set ourselves to, because this won't change much other than for the Local Legends. Well, other than guaranteed 3 drops from ascension mat bosses (yay!) and, hopefully, a min of 15 friendship from those little events as well, no more 10s. Will have to see if that's the case.
You don't know how squishy the majority of overworld enemies for those who have been playing for years and find no challenge when defeating them. Local legend is just their first preliminary answer to that. But now they upgrade it all across the board with WL9.

@@denzel4341 They didn't plan another world level after the rest. They just added this because players were asking for it. The game itself was balanced around how they planned it before. See it more of just an 'extra' feature, nothing more. Expanding level caps would throw the whole combat out of balance. Anything that scales with EM will get unreasonably buffed from those extra levels.
@@Cajun_Seasoning Yeah like releasing characters with overblown scalings compared to previous units that they already do. Powercreep has been here since the dawn of time. So an increase to level isn't gonna be that substantial because they will just scale enemies on it again like how they do abyss. cough cough abyss HP inflation from 1.0 compared to 4.0. did we just miss that? cough cough, so enemies scaling is better meanwhile your units shouldn't cough cough.
Cough cough a Fontaine Unique boss has more HP than Dvalin, COUGH COUGH.

PS: This means that we are now seeing the burning damage that they nerfed back when they introduced the more powerful elemental reactions in 1.x (can't remember the specific patch I think it was like 1.2) since I recall they specifically nerfed it by reducing the effective damage burning dealt to the World Level directly below so if you were at WL7 after the nerd you were getting WL6 amounts of damage. We are now going to be seeing WL8 damage scaling finally.
Wonder if Diluc will still die as quickly if a hili shaman throws some leaves at him and he sets himself on fire...
PPS: Regarding the artifact domains, yeah they're not affected by this. Indeed World Levels simply unlocked difficulties for the domains, they didn't affect them directly. That means that unless they add a new difficulty, the domains remain the same. Technically applicable for the Abyss as well, but... yeah this is likely the new standard for future Abyss content. EVEN MORE SPONGES!!! Now with extra SPONGE capabilities!
Nah, the burning damage still isn't anything like it was before they nerfed it. It was ridiculous before they nerfed it. Should have never been so easy to kill your character. They just screwed up and used poor numbers.
