That sounds very good. I have taken the flute since dec 25, 2019 when I got it as a gift. At 48 yrs old I'm trying to learn it and have been practicing daily. I don't see myself leaving it. I think I'm over that hump. My wish is to play those Bossa Nova hits like you!

Hey Jorge - greetings from Florida. Thanks for your kind comments. I played alto in NYC for about twenty years. That's a lot of tunes. For many years I was playing dance rooms where I would have loooong extended solos to the dance grooves. Ironically, I learned about economy by having so much freedom. You don't want to blow every note you got in the first chorus. Ha! Plus dancers want rhythm and funk and emotion, not endless streams of whole tone scales based around the cycle of 4ths. It was Ezra Pound, I believe that said "Music rots when it gets too far from the dance. Poetry atrophies when it gets too far from music." Jazz is a music that was originally for dancing, but the through the years has been intellectualized. So many players thinking instead of stomping and swaying.
Always enjoy coming back to hear you play....One time I asked about your flute because I play also. And you said it was one of my rough and tumble flutes LOL
Hey David... good to hear from you again. I got a 2nd hand Yamaha 384 awhile back. Offset G which is good for me. Plays OK. Have to admit someday I'd love to spend an hour blowing some $20K flutes, just to see how they respond. Keep jammin', be well.
@@TwainsBlues I hear ya I was listening to this guy playing an $8000 one. I dont wont to take out a mortgage. Have fun with the yamaha....a year ago I bought a yamaha all silver offset g, bfoot, open hole for $1600 on sale....YFL 462. Still have my entry level yamaha as well....take care boss.

ANIONEJM - well, with my tuning it can difficult to tell what the key is supposed to be :). Blue Bossa is written in Eb. Google the title and click IMAGES and you should see a chart or two. Also,Google "midi, Blue Bossa" and u will get some backing tracks to jam against. Have fun and good luck w/ ur recital

Lime - I'll say 2 things about the runs - take them both with a grain of salt... First: Start with the chromatic scale. Play it upside down and backwards. If you are in the key C, play chromatically but emphasize the note in the C scale. Start from every note and go up or down. Thing about the chromatic scale is fits with any key and will give you balance. Second: Just jump... Skaters do it, High Divers do it, Gymnasts do it. Just jump! Start with one flip and don't be afraid to fall...:)
Tampa / St Pete area now. Many years in NYC as a sax player. Had to retire. Facing my 2nd hernia OP from playing. Flute is a little less strenuous. When are you going to post some music vids. Get busy!! :)
