Excellent looking crop ! You are definitely one of the best at demonstrating what is possible in the farming world without hosing the countryside with poison (aka) herbicide !!
Man that was a lot of very useful info!! Esp explaining the yield potential and what went into it prior!! Thank you for bringing us along, look fwd to more!!!
Your corn looks nice Jack. Its been hit or miss around the country this year with rain fall. Sure feel bad for the guys who are liquidating herds do to drought. We had a dry spell, and now its wet again. I planted some conventional corn this year, cultivated it twice with a 2 row modified 825 Deere. Lets just say I have a lot to learn, but "Most" of the corn is still standing!
@@kswaynes7569 Sounds crazy I know! But as far back as I can remember we've always sprayed. With all the uncertainty in the world today, I feel like a guy should have a back up plan, because it seems as of late, its become way to apparent how dependent we are on other countries and should anything happen, we may have to resort to alternative farming practices which we may not be used to!
Field looks awesome Jack! Again some of my favorite of your vids are the cultivation ones. I always learn something. Glad those rains didn’t cause too much loss. Can you tell on fields with better OM that you get better infiltration?
That is the ideal that I am working towards, especially on fertile bottom ground! I think that an air unit, with hoses that can be placed to ensure soil incorporation would be the ticket (Valmar).
Well, perhaps! In order to get to this point though we will major AI to make management and timing decisions ;) A robot weeder will definitely be a hit when available.
@@GeigerFarm the job you did in this video you dont need ai most cleaning robot al ready have the soft where that could extaly make it work it just need kil the weeds where it can drive that it
I would have thought that cultivating smaller plants would be more stressful, but your explanation makes sense. Beautiful field 🌽😊👍
Thank you very much!
Always enjoy these informative videos. Beautiful field!!
Good video! Good job on nice lookin' corn!
That field was really clean for just one pass . I remember last year you planting that in a cover crop . The corn is doing really good !
This field is a goldmine :)! Next year, the organic certification will be back.

Geez Brad, with all the years you have farmed, I would have thought you had cultivated at least a few acres for someone.

Beautiful Corn Field!
Great looking organic corn, very tough to do.
Thank you. This field made a new personal best for me @ 168 bpa!
That's a fine looking field of corn.

The rain was so severe, we had some washing. Didn’t matter the location or soil type 🙁
I’d like to do some sort of cultivating but install a interseeder on it to incorporate covers for fall or spring grazing.

Why is the outside row always horizontal?
Next to trees with high traffic???
That does make perfect sense....ill pay close attention to treeless farms lol small details are important!
how old is the corn plant, friend?
We are right around 28 days! Thanks for watching 👍🏻
