I live in Michigan and have seen many of these places in Summer and Fall. Lake Michigan is the best most beautiful Lake in the world. I forget how awesome it is to travel here until I see people like you being in awe of the glorious beauty. Thanks for the Michigan videos.
I live on the other side of the lake in Wisconsin. I can see Lake Michigan from my driveway. In 1987 I moved to Virginia Beach,Virginia for 5 years. One day with friends from Virginia. We were down at the ocean and I said this reminds me of Lake Michigan. They all laughed at me and said this is the ocean you can't see across it. I said just like Lake Michigan you cannot see across it either. I don't think they believe me. So later that day when we got back home I grab some pictures that I had of Lake Michigan. They were amazed that you cannot see across the lake. Anyways it is a beautiful lake and I'm glad you both enjoyed it. Great video keep up the good work. I enjoy watching your trip crossed United States of America.
Haha wow! I can imagine just how shocked they were when they saw the photos - I kept calling it “the ocean” lol had to keep correcting myself. Thanks Hopeulikepics! Glad you enjoyed it 😃 thanks for sharing your story -Olivia
I had the same reaction from a friend from Boston who thought you could see the other side of Lake Michigan and was amazed. It’s always the east and west coast people who can’t seem to realize how big these “lakes” are. I think it’s the word “lake”.
I live in traverse city and I grew up here yes its beautiful and every one is kind here. Our water is the most beautiful place u could ever be glad u got to enjoy this beautiful place I love it here
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE you supporting local small business , especially Coffee houses. Keep on, Keepin On ! I cannot love this vid enough! You showcased everything I'd love to see and do!
You guys are hilarious! Loved the video. This area is one of our favorites in Michigan. Lake Michigan is better than an ocean because nothing with sting or bite you in half.
Haha we try to keep things light hearted 😅 lol yes! I we can see why! Has everything you’d want. Seriously one of our new favorite places. Maybe we’ll see you guys there one day. Safe travels Faiola Fam!
Love the video. Thanks for enjoying our state. For those who come here to swim in Great Lakes just remember that they have worse riptides than the ocean. So please be safe and enjoy Michigan.
I live a couple miles from Lake Michigan near the west shore. Wisconsin/Illinois. People who have never been to the Great Lakes are always blown away by how big the lakes actually are. Even though I’m only a couple miles away, whenever I go to the lakefront it seems like I’m on vacation somewhere far away.
Ahhh Sleeping Bear Dunes is absolutely stunning! The locals call that huge dune "the wall". It's definitely a work out! I'm so glad you enjoyed Michigan... I wish you'd gone up to Copper Harbor in the Upper Peninsula. Lake Superior has many amazing places that shouldn't be missed!
I'm so glad I found your channel. Then I see you visited the place I was born and raised in. I moved away after High School but still get up there a few times a year. You made great use of your time there and if you ever make it back there is much more like you saw.
@@ONWorldTravel Next time you're around let me know, we will get you out on Silver Lake Sand dunes in a jeep or ATV or do some trail riding in state...enjoy your journey.
TC is my hometown. Leland is such a fun little town, you caught it on camera but the Cheese Shanty has the best sandwich around. The turkey on pretzel bun sells out everyday! We have so many great restaurants there’s not one I wouldn’t recommend. You didn’t even scratch the surface and things to see and do. A day at the Commons followed by dinner at my favorite place PepeNeros is a must!
Happy Sunday, Olivia and Nathan. I’ve seen pictures of Lake Michigan white capping and some with waves, but hadn’t seen the sand dunes which definitely give the illusion of the ocean. What a charming beautiful area. There should be a bleacher section where all those who know they can’t scale back up a 38 story dune can give a well deserved standing ovation to all those who do! Bravo to your new friends! Impressive. Good to see that whole area wasn’t crammed with tourists, I presume this was taken in September. Have a great week, Deb
Hey Deb! Yes, this was in September and should totally have had a bleacher section 😂 only a handful were bold enough to attempt it! That view is truly something else, Michigan has definitely been one of our favorite states so far! Thanks again for supporting Deb!
You two have a wonderful channel, I cannot wait to see where it goes! I love watching you two have so much fun traveling to places while showing us what's out there!
If you ever get back to northwest Michigan you have to explore Old Mission. Also, two of my favorite restaurants in this state are Pearl's New Orleans Kitchen in Elk Rapids and Legs Inn in Cross Village. The sunset at Legs Inn is phenomenal... and so is the food.
Thanks for those two awesome suggestions Sam, we’ll have to check those out next time around!! We def love our food! 🤤 We’ll have to also head up to the UP!! All the best!
LOVE “The Mitten” state. ✋🏼 I was born & raised in Michigan. Michigan boasts the world’s biggest FRESHWATER (aka UNSALTED) shoreline. My family has a lake house on Crystal Lake located near Frankfort which is approximately 38 miles South of Traverse City. I loved watching you two make “new discoveries” in my home state. Very entertaining. “How is this NOT an ocean?!?!?” LOL!!! I hope you enjoyed “The Mitten”! P.S. Whoever does your drone work does an excellent job.
He’s got that double bubble 😂 lol Yeah! We noticed. Didn’t mess with it. Very secluded out there and our feet were enough. Thanks for your comment Andre
Hey Guys! Thanks for sharing our glorious Northern Michigan city! Hopefully, our cidery will be up and running when you visit TC next! Maybe we can become your favorite. Safe Travels. Best, David and Rachel from CFS!!
I just discovered you guys. I experienced this part of Michigan for the first time last year, and have been dying to get back! Thanks for these vids. You guys are awesome. I'll be looking forward to more of your stuff!!
Hey Glen! Happy you found us 😃 that’s awesome! Where was your favorite place/thing you did in Traverse city?? We are too. The entire west coast of Michigan is such a vibe in the summer! Happy to hear that. We appreciate you support! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
As always, great video guys!! It's such an incredible area for sure and we def will return someday! The Pommeau was our fav too😉. But truly, meeting y'all was the icing on the cake at the giant dune. What a surprise to see the pic here-Thanks!🙌 Hope someday our travels land us in the same spot again--Nathan can build a fire and we'll bring the whiskey. Be well!
Haha we were excited for you guys to see this episode 😜 Lorrie is badass for climbing! Nathan didn’t even realize he was filming her at first! That sounds like a great plan! I’m sure we will! 🥃🔥 you too Lorrie & Dave!
I live near Lake Michigan but on the WI side. It’s my favorite part of living here. Though Michigan has better sand beaches than us. They get hit harder with lake effect snow than us though too.
I came across your Chanel and I thought hey we have seen you before. We were at the 2K ciderie and we are in this video. Welcome to the mitten. Smitten with the mitten.
Such a beautiful place and love the info you guys share😊 now I want to go to Traverse City for sure!! Keep up the excellent work 👍 looking forward to you sharing 🥰🤩
I love your videos and I’m so glad I found your channel.I enjoy watching the ventures of a couple traveling in an RV around America. My wife and I will be retiring in a little over a year and we are going to get an RV and travel some of the same places you have been. Looking forward to your next video.
Hey Kent! That’s so awesome! Excited for your journey together - it’s the most rewarding lifestyle in our eyes. Takes planning and hard work but the payoff is amazing. We’re happy you enjoy the vids. 😃Maybe we’ll see ya on the road one day. Cheers!
Fun! Just got to Traverse City today after a couple of weeks in the UP. Excited to go explore! Not climbing that dune though… watched people climb one at Pictured Rocks.
Ah hey Kurt! Hope you guys made your way back home safely :-) it was great chatting by the fire. Maybe we’ll see you guys back out on the road next year. ✌🏽 boondocking... haha who knows! cheers!
The shot with the boat full of people kicked off the Kid Rock song in my head 'All Summer Long' lol. Hope ya'll are well! Tao and I were just talking about you both the other day! Sending you guys love!

Nice videos! Really enjoy watching them. When you were in Traverse City there’s so much to do. Too bad you didn’t get a chance to go to the music camp, Interlochen Center for the arts. Amazing place.
just found your channel and loving it! living in michigan is so much fun.. and we love seeing videos of those who visit. come back and we can be friends! :)
One of you guys (or both) either has to be a filmmaker, or you're just insanly talented at making RUclips videos! Thats pure contenct! And when Nathan took a huge smell of that whiskey, exactly at that time there was sum car engine sound at the background which sounded exactly like a giant smell sound so cool :D
Interesting to see other people enjoy Traverse City and the surrounding area, being a native. xD The Cheese Shop in Leland is goated for sure, my cousin always has to get a sammich from there when he goes back. Sleeping Bear Dunes remind me of my childhood so much, I assume not many people go out there these days though. They are tougher than they look! If you come back to TC sometime, you gotta go hike to the Hippie Tree and around it, the old state hospital grounds, grab an ice cream at Moomer's, and the Cherry Festival if you're here during it. Cheers!
If you go back to Traverse City again. Go to Kayak, Bike, and Brew…. It’s just what it says it is. You kayak in the city and bike and go to many breweries along the way.
You can walk three miles south along the shore back to Empire if you dont want to climb back up. We launch our Zodiac in Empire and have lunch at the bottom of the big hill, people always ask are you the rescue boat, NO, but at 3k it might be worth it.
Michigander my whole life, I was born on a tiny island in Hell. (That’s always fun to say) Fun fact, Paradise is roughly 342 miles north of Hell. And yes, Hell freezes over every year. I live in the southeastern area, but moving up north in a year… we just haven’t decided on a town yet, there’s just so many great areas. ⚠️ But very important ⚠️ Please, please be very careful with Lake Michigan. She’s beautiful, but she can be very deadly. There’s often an undertow, that will pull you under and take you pretty far out. Many people loose their lives on Lake Michigan every year, especially teens… and when alcohol is involved. When I was 15, in Ludington I saved a man and his two children that were drowning. So please be careful!
I'm happy to see you took the scenic drive. Yep that overview deck is awesome, and we've never tried going down to the water from there as we see how people look coming back up! Been there multiple times and it is always impressive. As you said, "how is this not an ocean" and reminds you of places like Florida. Michigan, especially the west coast and all of the Upper Peninsula, are extremely beautiful
I know right 🤦🏻♂️ …we were surprised too. At the same time, it was sort of hard to tell what we were looking at from the lake shore. Cheers John, thanks for watching!
Haha He films, I drive! (80% of the time) But also, this truck was mine 10 years ago 😳 so I think I naturally get in the drivers seat too lol idk if he’ll be so lucky when we get a new truck!
If your comment is based on the clown above, cjporterfield, that's not fair. And I rather doubt he's even been to the state, just a shameful troller he.😎 May 12, 2023
Things are dynamic and will always be dynamic. In the mean time, strive to be a classier person; as such unfriendliness puts millions of kind and respectful Michiganders in a bad light to the rest of the world, which is not fair.🥸 May 12, 2023
I live here, us locals cannot stand a tourist, and we hate Jennifer Granholm for inviting them here. Believe me when I say, we would rather the tourism industry go broke and you all leave. I've never heard of any of these places, and I won't be visiting them if their inviting tourists to ruin our state.
It makes my Michigander heart so happy seeing people from out of state having that "I can't believe it's not an ocean" reaction. Loved this video.
Fr tho it feels so good

A word of advise, when hiking the dunes wear only socks. Shoes get full of sand and the sand is too hot for bare feet on a hot day

The story of the sleeping bears is so sad. The mom makes it to shore and the babies die.
NO fresh fish caught and grilled from Lake?
What park and site#?
You all need to lay off editing the contrast. A bit deceiving to make grass appear neon green, and the water appear like the gulf of Mexico.
@brandongarland1841 Idk what you're talking about with the grass, but that's how the water looks up there.
I'm here now and been going to SBDNL wvery summer. It does look like this. Although that depends on weather/storms as it ever changes.
YO HO HO 🤣😂🏴☠️
Haha thanks for supporting Alexandria! Cheers! 😂

How is Nathan never driving. What is the secret?
Haha He films, I drive! (80% of the time) But also, this truck was mine 10 years ago 😳 so I think I naturally get in the drivers seat too lol idk if he’ll be so lucky when we get a new truck!
First thing I noticed......take you shoes off.........SO MUCH EASIER
Waiter at 2k was pretty grimey.
Where is Traverse City? I was expecting to see you actually do things in the city.😐
Change out that intro music. It was no good
I'm not a huge fan of channels who use clickbait thumbnails. You don't have to use half naked women to get clicks. Have some respect for your channel.
The place of rude people
If your comment is based on the clown above, cjporterfield, that's not fair. And I rather doubt he's even been to the state, just a shameful troller he.😎

Too Many People there ….. Avoid at All Costs !
🙃
Please don’t come to traverse city/ Leelanau. There Are too many people and not enough houses and Airbnb has destroyed our housing market.
Things are dynamic and will always be dynamic. In the mean time, strive to be a classier person; as such unfriendliness puts millions of kind and respectful Michiganders in a bad light to the rest of the world, which is not fair.🥸

Haha Robert Downey 😂😂😂 nice plug
I live here, us locals cannot stand a tourist, and we hate Jennifer Granholm for inviting them here. Believe me when I say, we would rather the tourism industry go broke and you all leave. I've never heard of any of these places, and I won't be visiting them if their inviting tourists to ruin our state.
Such a pleasant person! Fortunately, 99% of Michiganians aren't bitter and rude like yourself.😃
